St. Mary Parish Sheriff Scott Anslum advises that over the last 24-hour reporting period, the Sheriff’s Office responded to 31 complaints and reports the following arrests:
Christopher Woods, 26, 103 11th Street, Morgan City, LA was arrested on August 7, 2018 at 11:36 am on two warrants for failure to appear on the following charges:
- Possession of cocaine
- Possession of alprazolam
- Possession of firearm by a convicted felon
While being booked on other charges, a booking deputy located active warrants for Woods. Woods was booked on said warrants and bail was set at $18,000.
Michael Smith, 54, 100 Oleander Street, Patterson, LA was arrested on August 7, 2018 at 1:01 pm for resisting arrest, disturbing the peace, and interfering with a law enforcement investigation. Deputies patrolling the area of Patterson was dispatched to an address on Oleander Street for an ungovernable juvenile. Deputies encountered Smith who became irate and began to interfere with the investigation. Upon being placed under arrest, Smith attempted to pull away from deputies. Smith was transported to the St. Mary Law Enforcement Center for booking and was released on a $1,250 bond.
Justin Sons, 28, 3379 Highway 1, Raceland, LA was arrested on August 7, 2018 at 3:30 pm on two warrants of failure to appear on the following charges:
- Possession of marijuana
- Possession of drug paraphernalia
- Possession of marijuana
- Abuse of toxic vapors
- Illegal use, consumption, possession, or distribution of controlled dangerous substance in the presence of persons under 17
- Improper turn or failure to give signal
- Operating a vehicle without a drivers license
While being booked on other charges, a booking deputy located active warrants for Sons. Sons was booked on said warrants and no bail was set.
Johnnie Adams, 38, 487 Prairie Road, Franklin, LA was arrested on August 7, 2018 at 10:08 pm on a warrant for failure to appear on the charges of operating a vehicle with a suspended license. A deputy patrolling the area of Centerville made contact with Adams walking down the street. The deputy learned of an active warrant for Adams’ arrest. Adams was transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking. No bail was set.
Jose Trevino, 28, 203 Trevino Street, Berwick, LA was arrested on August 8, 2018, at 2:50 am for speeding and on a warrant for failure to appear on the charges of possession of marijuana and operating a vehicle with an unlit license plate. A deputy patrolling the area of Bayou Vista observed the vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed on Highway 182. The deputy conducted a traffic stop and made contact with the driver, Trevino. The deputy learned that Trevino had an active warrant for his arrest. Trevino was transported to the St. Mary Law Enforcement Center for booking. No bail was set.
