St. Mary Parish Sheriff Scott Anslum advises that over the last 24-hour reporting period, the Sheriff’s Office responded to 43 complaints and reports the following arrests:

 

Waynisha Jones, 33, 518 Aucoin Street, Morgan City, LA was arrested on August 8, 2018 at 2:11 pm on a warrant for possession of hydrocodone and disturbing the peace (intoxication).

A deputy made contact with Jones at the St. Mary Parish Courthouse and learned of an active warrant for her arrest. She was transported to the St. Mary Law Enforcement Center for booking. Jones was released on a $5,000 bond.

 

April Phillips, 38, 1110 Lee Charles Street, Franklin, LA was arrested on August 8, 2018 at 3:37 pm on two warrants for failure to appear on the following charges:

•      Possession/distribution/sale of legend drug without a prescription
•      Theft
•      Resisting a police officer with force
•      Possession/distribution/sale of legend drug without a prescription
•      Battery of a police officer
•      Disturbing the peace (offensive words)
•      Entry on or remaining in places or land after being forbidden

A deputy learned of active warrants for Phillips and made contact with her at the St. Mary Parish Courthouse. She was transported to the St. Mary Law Enforcement Center for booking. Bail is set at $11,000.

 

NARCOTICS SECTION

 

Joseph Jessie, 39, 119 B. Bernard Street, Patterson, LA was arrested on August 8, 2018 at 10:03 pm for failure to stop and possession of drug paraphernalia. A deputy patrolling the area of Amelia observed a vehicle fail to stop at a stop sign. A traffic stop was conducted, and the deputy made contact with the driver, Jessie. The deputy received consent to search the vehicle and during the search the deputy located a glass pipe. Jessie was released on a summons to appear in court on November 13, 2018.
