Arrest Report- August 20, 2018

St. Mary Parish Sheriff Scott Anslum advises that over the last 72-hour reporting period, the Sheriff’s Office responded to 110 complaints and reports the following arrests:

 

Charles Sherman, 39, 134 Dottie Lane, Morgan City, LA was arrested on August 17, 2018, at 10:46 pm on a warrant for failure to appear on the charges of simple burglary and criminal trespassing.

Deputies patrolling Siracusa observed a car parked in the parking lot of a closed business conducted a contact stop. The deputies made contact with the driver and the passenger, Sherman. Through the stop, deputies learned that Sherman had an active warrant for his arrest. Sherman was transported to the St. Mary Law Enforcement Center for booking. No bail was set.

 

Barry Jones, 31, 334 Oriole Street, Morgan City, LA was arrested on August 18, 2018, at 10:12 am for second-degree battery.

Deputies patrolling Bayou Vista were dispatched to a residence on Cane Street in reference to a domestic battery call. Upon arriving, deputies made contact with the victim who said Jones had pushed their head into a cabinet. Through the investigation, deputies found evidence that Jones had pushed the victim and the victim had sustained minor injuries that had been treated at a local medical facility. Jones was transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking. No bail was set.

 

Brendan Comeaux, 25, 400 Elm Street, Centerville, LA was arrested on August 18, 2018, at 7:47 pm for second-degree battery.

Deputies patrolling Centerville were dispatched to a residence on Elm Street for a battery call. The deputies made contact with the victim and learned that he had been struck and injured. The deputies also made contact with Comeaux who admitted he had struck the victim in the face. Comeaux was transported to the St. Mary Law Enforcement Center for booking.  No bail was set.

 

Ashley Adams, 34, 10611 Highway 182, Garden City, LA was arrested on August 19, 2018, at 12:52 am for driving under suspension.

A deputy responding to an unrelated call at a residence on Elm Street in Centerville observed a pickup pulling up to the scene. The deputy made contact with the driver, Adams, and through the investigation the deputy learned that Adams was driving with a suspended license. Adams was arrested and released on a summons to appear on November 13, 2018.

 

David Risk, 33, 513 Carol Road, Morgan City, LA was arrested on August 19, 2018, at 7:22 am for leash law and Pit Bull regulation.

Deputies patrolling Bayou Vista were dispatched to the corner of Middle and Carol Road in reference to a dog bite. Upon arrival, the deputies made contact with a victim who was jogging and was bit by a dog. The deputies found evidence of a dog bite injuries. The deputies then made contact with Risk who confirmed that the dog was a pit bull mix. Deputies learned that Risk had no posted signs, pit bull license, and no vaccination record. Risk was arrested and released on a summons to appear on November 13, 2018.

 

Elwood Rodriguez, 45, 207 Polaris Street, Morgan City, LA was arrested on August 19, 2018, at 10:11 pm for littering.

A deputy made a follow up call to a residence on Polaris Street. The deputy made contact with Rodriguez concerning an incident that happened back in July. Rodriguez was arrested for littering and was released on a summons to appear on November 13, 2018.
