Arrest Report- August 21, 2018

St. Mary Parish Sheriff Scott Anslum advises that over the last 24-hour reporting period, the Sheriff’s Office responded to 31 complaints and reports the following arrests:

 

Brandon Poole, 32, 723 Arlington Street, Morgan City, LA was arrested on August 20, 2018, at 9:48 am on a warrant for failure to appear on the following charges:

  •      Failure to register and notify as a sex offender
  •      Failure to possess a special ID card- sex offender ID
  •      Failure to pay annual registration fee

A corrections deputy made contact with Poole when Poole was transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center from East Baton Rouge Parish on the failure to appear warrant. Poole was booked and remains incarcerated at the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center. No bail was set.

 

Earl Brown, 31, 1803 Anderson Street, New Iberia, LA was arrested on August 20, 2018, at 4:45 am for driving under suspension and resisting an officer by giving false information.

A deputy patrolling the area of Baldwin observed a vehicle with only one headlight illuminated. The deputy conducted a traffic stop and made contact with the driver, Brown. Through the stop, the deputy learned that Brown’s drivers license was suspended. The deputy also learned that the information Brown had given him to identify himself was not accurate. Brown was transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking. No bail was set.

 

NARCOTICS SECTION

 

Elcondos Davis, 41, 1357 Martin Luther King Road, Charenton, LA was arrested on August 20, 2018, at 7:46 pm for the following charges:

  •       Improper lane usage
  •       Speeding
  •       Possession of marijuana with intent to distribute
  •       Possession of drug paraphernalia
  •       Transactions involving drug proceeds
  •       Violation of controlled dangerous substance law, drug-free zone (church)
  •       Possession of a controlled dangerous substance in the presence of a minor

Detectives with the St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Section with assistance from the Morgan City Police Department Narcotics Division and the Chitimacha Police Department executed a search warrant at a residence on Martin Luther King Road and observed Davis leaving the residence in a truck. The detectives observed the vehicle cross over the fog line and attempted to conduct a traffic stop but the truck sped up. The truck stopped a short time later and detectives made contact with Davis. During the search of the residence, detectives found marijuana, drug paraphernalia, and cash. Juveniles were present at the residence and the residence is located near a church. Davis was transported to the St. Mary Law Enforcement Center for booking. Davis was released on a $10,000 bond.
