Arrest Report- August 23, 2018

St. Mary Parish Sheriff Scott Anslum advises that over the last 24-hour reporting period, the Sheriff’s Office responded to 31 complaints and reports the following arrests:

 

Alfred Collins, Jr., 26, 1148 Irish Bend Road, Franklin, LA was arrested on August 22, 2018, at 1:21 pm for domestic abuse battery by strangulation in the presence of a juvenile.

 

Deputies patrolling the area of Franklin were dispatched to a residence on Irish Bend Road in response to a domestic abuse complaint. The officers made contact with a victim who claimed they had been in a disturbance and the victim claimed to have been choked by Collins. The deputies made contact with Collins, and Collins admitted to choking the victim. Collins was transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking. No bail was set.

 

 

Hank Darby, 36, 1707 South Iberia Street, New Iberia, LA was arrested on August 22, 2018, at 3:43 pm for theft and on a warrant for probation violation.

 

A deputy patrolling Bayou Vista was dispatched to a local business for a theft complaint. The deputy made contact with store personnel who was speaking with Darby. The store employee said he watched Darby take items from the store. Darby admitted to taking the items. The deputy learned that there was an active warrant for Darby. Darby was transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking. No bail was set.

 

 

NARCOTICS SECTION

 

 

Jude Resignola, 23, 1000 John Street, Monroe, LA was arrested on August 22, 2018, at 3:38 pm for possession of a schedule III (Suboxen), possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of drug without a prescription (amoxicillin).

 

A detective of the St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Division received information concerning illegal narcotics use at a local business in the Morgan City area. Detectives made contact at the business with a female and Resignola. The deputies found drugs and drug paraphernalia. Resignola claimed possession of all illegal items found. Resignola was transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking. No bail was set.

 

 

Frankie Clark, 34, 149 Friendship Alley, Amelia, LA was arrested on August 22, 2018, at 4:16 pm for possession of Schedule 1 (marijuana), Possession of drug paraphernalia, violation of controlled dangerous substance in a drug-free zone (church), and on a warrant for failure to appear on the charge of criminal neglect of family, and on a warrant for possession of schedule I CDS (marijuana), possession of schedule IV CDS (tramadol), prohibited acts/drug paraphernalia, possession of schedule II CDS (meth), possession of firearm in presence of CDS.

 

Detectives of the St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Section were patrolling the area of Friendship Alley in Amelia when they observed Clark pull into a residence on Friendship Alley. Detectives made contact with Clark due to active warrants for his arrest. Through the investigation detectives found drugs and drug paraphernalia on Clark’s person. Clark was transported to the St. Mary Law Enforcement Center for booking. No bail was set.

 

 

Deonte Harris, 20, 219 West Side Trailer Park, Amelia, LA was arrested on August 22, 2018, at 4:16 pm for possession of schedule I (marijuana) and on a warrant for possession of marijuana.

 

Detectives of the St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Section were patrolling the area of Friendship Alley in Amelia when they observed a wanted subject driving a vehicle down the alley. Upon observing the detectives, the subject sped off and quickly pulled into a driveway. Detectives made contact with the driver and placed him under arrest on the warrants. While dealing with the suspect, detectives observed Harris sitting on the steps of the residence. Detectives knew of an active warrant for Harris’ arrest through the Morgan City Police Department. Detectives made contact with Harris and placed him under arrest. Through the investigation detectives found drugs on Harris’ person. Harris was transported to the St. Mary Law Enforcement Center for booking. Bail is set at $925.

 

 

Christopher Singleton, 33, 154 Friendship Alley, Amelia, LA was arrested on August 22, 2018, at 4:32 pm on a warrant for failure to appear on the charge of speeding and on a warrant for failure to appear on the charge of operating a vehicle without a driver’s license and operating a vehicle with an expired license plate.

 

Detectives of the St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Section were dealing with the arrests of two individuals on Friendship Alley in Amelia. While doing so, detectives observed Singleton riding a bicycle down Friendship Alley past the detectives. Detectives were aware of active warrants for Singleton’s arrest. Detectives made contact with Singleton and placed him under arrest for said warrants. Singleton was transported to the St. Mary Law Enforcement Center for booking. No bail was set.

 

 

Johnny Carr, Jr., 35, 8175 North Ridge Road, Caledonia, MS was arrested on August 22, 2018, at 6:09 pm for possession of schedule I (marijuana) with intent to distribute, possession of drug paraphernalia, and possessing synthetic urine purpose of falsifying screen test.

 

Detectives of the St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Section received a complaint of a person using drugs at a local business in Amelia. The detectives set up surveillance in the area and observed a person fitting the description in a vehicle outside the business. Detectives made contact with the person in the vehicle, who was identified at Carr. Carr granted permission for the detectives to search and the detectives found drugs and drug paraphernalia. Carr was transported to the St. Mary Law Enforcement Center for booking. No bail was set.
