Detective Whytley Jones gives Cyber Crimes Presentation

St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s Office Detective Whytley Jones was the guest speaker at the Rotary Club, Franklin Chapter, on Tuesday.  Detective Jones’ presentation was on “Cyber Crimes,” which is a growing concern in society.  

  St. Mary Parish residents and businesses have not been immune to cyber-criminal behavior. Those in attendance shared their stories of cyber crimes as well as asking questions and sharing information with Detective Jones during the question and answer time.

  “Cyber crimes are steadily growing and posing a serious threat to society,” said Jones. “As technology increases, education and training are essential in mitigating risk associated with this emerging threat.”

  Sheriff Scott Anslum was in attendance at the meeting and had high remarks about Detective Jones. “Detective Jones has a work ethic second to none. She is extremely knowledgeable and I appreciate her dedication to the agency and the community,” Sheriff Anslum remarked. “She’s compassionate towards others and passionate about her job, which makes her a great example to others.”
