Arrest Report- November 1, 2018

St. Mary Parish Sheriff Scott Anslum advises that over the last 48-hour reporting period, the Sheriff’s Office responded to 71 complaints and reports the following arrests:

 

Carlos Santos, 42, 316 Hobson Street, Houma, LA, was arrested on October 31, 2018, at 9:47 am for theft, battery-simple, and criminal damage to property.

A deputy patrolling the area of Berwick was dispatched to a local business in reference to a theft complaint. Upon arrival, the deputy spoke to business personnel who reported that a piece of equipment was taken from the business by two subjects who were at the business applying for a job. While at the business conducting the investigation, Santos came back to the business and was identified as one of the subjects. As Santos was being arrested, he spat upon another person. During his transportation to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center, Santos kicked the rear passenger door, damaging the frame and breaking the glass. Bail was set at $4,500.

 

Angela Curtis, 31, 207 Chauvin Drive, Franklin, LA, was arrested on October 31, 2018, at 12:01 pm on three warrants for failure to appear on the charges of unauthorized entry of an inhabited dwelling, probation violation-disturbing the peace, introducing contraband in any municipal or parish prison, and possession of alprazolam.

A transportation deputy made contact with Curtis in transporting her from another agency to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center, for booking on said warrants. Bail was set at $300,000.  

 

Alyssa Acosta, 26, 819 Ditch Avenue, Morgan City, LA, was arrested on October 31, 2018, at 7:00 pm for theft.

A deputy patrolling Amelia was dispatched to a local business in reference to a theft. Upon arrival, the deputy made contact with the owner of the business who reported that Acosta had taken a cab ride to the business but left the driver after only paying half the fare. A short time later, the deputy made contact with Acosta walking on the shoulder of highway 182. Acosta admitted to paying only half the fare and was arrested. Acosta was released on a summons to appear on January 15, 2019.

 

J’warski Jack, 23, 246 A B Martin Road, Jeanerette, LA, was arrested on November 1, 2018, at 7:24 am for domestic abuse battery.

Deputies patrolling the area of Jeanerette were dispatched to a residence on A B Martin Road in reference to a domestic abuse complaint. Upon arrival, the deputies made contact with the victim who stated that Jack had hit the victim. Jack was transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking. Jack was released on a $2,500 bond.

 

James Jones, 33, 1409 First Street, Patterson, LA, was arrested on November 1, 2018, at 7:24 am for two active warrants for failure to appear on the charges of criminal neglect of family (x2).

A corrections deputy made contact with Jones as he was transported to the St. Mary Law Enforcement Center by another agency to be booked on various charges. The corrections deputy learned of two active St. Mary Parish warrants for his arrest. Jones was booked on said warrants. No bail was set.
