Arrest Report- November 7, 2018

St. Mary Parish Sheriff Scott Anslum advises that over the last 48-hour reporting period, the Sheriff’s Office responded to  complaints and reports the following arrests:

 

Gregory Boykin, 28, 210 Wall Street, Franklin, LA, was arrested on November 5, 2018, at 2:22 pm on a warrant for failure to appear on the charges of possession of alprazolam, illegal use/possession/control of weapons, crime of violence/cds, and possession of stolen firearms.

A deputy patrolling the area of Franklin was dispatched to the St. Mary Parish Courthouse in reference to a subject in the courtroom who had an active warrant for his arrest. Upon arrival, the deputy made contact with Boykin and advised him of the active warrant. Boykin was transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking.  Bail was set at $60,000.

 

Cedric Gant, 21, 1061 Grace Street, Morgan City, LA, was arrested on November 6, 2018, at 9:33 am for battery of a dating partner.

Deputies patrolling Amelia were dispatched to a location in Amelia in reference to a disturbance. Upon arrival, the deputies made contact with a male who said he witnessed two people in a disturbance in which a man later identified as Gant was hitting a victim repeatedly.  Through the investigation of the area, the deputies located Gant and another person in a residence nearby.    Gant was transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking.  Bail was set at $2,500.

 

Donavon Washington, 22, 510 Labau Street, Baldwin, LA, was arrested on November 6, 2018, at 8:47 pm for battery on a police officer.

A deputy patrolling the area of Baldwin was searching for a suspect with a felony warrant. The deputy stopped and questioned a group of men, one of whom met the description of the suspect. During the questioning, the man who was identified as Washington shoved the deputy and attempted to run. Washington was apprehended by the deputy. Washington was transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking.  Washington was released on a $2,500 bond.

 

NARCOTICS SECTION

Ashton Martinez, 19, 115 Ranger Lane, Bayou Vista, LA, was arrested on November 5, 2018, at 1:02 am on a warrant for failure to appear on the charge of possession of drug paraphernalia.

A deputy patrolling Bayou Vista observed a truck driven with no working license plate light. The deputy conducted a traffic stop and made contact with the driver, Martinez. Through the stop, the deputy learned of an active warrant for Martinez.  Martinez was transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking.  No bail was set.
