Arrest Report- November 9, 2018

St. Mary Parish Sheriff Scott Anslum advises that over the last 24-hour reporting period, the Sheriff’s Office responded to 19 complaints and reports the following arrests:

 

George Boutwell, 37, 109 Tommie Street, Amelia, LA, was arrested on November 8, 2018, at 10:36 am for the following charges:

-        Resisting an officer by flight

-        Expired drivers license

-        No insurance

-        Hit and run

-        Expired license plate

-        Switched license plate/stolen license plate

A deputy was stationary on Duhon Boulevard in Amelia when he heard the sound of a vehicle accident.  The deputy located the scene of the accident and observed a vehicle leaving the scene.  The deputy attempted to make a traffic stop but the vehicle kept going. The deputy followed and the vehicle turned into a driveway at a residence on Lake Palourde Road, where the deputy made contact with the driver, Boutwell. During the stop, the deputy learned that Boutwell’s driver’s license was expired, the license plate on the vehicle was registered to another vehicle and was expired, and the license plate that the vehicle was registered to was also expired.  Boutwell had no insurance on the vehicle. Boutwell was transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking.  Boutwell was released on a $3,500 bond.

 

Juan Torres, 54, 232 South East Boulevard, Patterson, LA, was arrested on November 8, 2018, at 11:42 am on a warrant for failure to appear on the charge of issuing worthless checks for less than $500.

A corrections deputy made contact with Torres when transporting Torres from another agency to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking.  Torres was booked on said warrant. No bail was set.

 

Tyronne Charles, 31, 4616 LA 83, Franklin, LA, was arrested on November 8, 2018, at 7:02 pm for stop signs and yield signs and no insurance.

A deputy patrolling the area of Franklin observed a vehicle run a stop sign and conducted a traffic stop.  The deputy made contact with the driver, Charles.  Through the stop, the deputy learned that Charles had no insurance on the vehicle.  Charles was arrested and released on a summons to appear on January 30, 2019.
