Arrest Report- December 10, 2018

St. Mary Parish Sheriff Scott Anslum advises that over the last 72-hour reporting period, the Sheriff’s Office responded to 114 complaints and reports the following arrests:

 

Travell Davis, 31, 342 Leo Street, Patterson, LA, was arrested on December 7, 2018, at 12:56 pm on a warrant for failure to appear on the charge of operating a vehicle while license is suspended/revoked/canceled.

A corrections deputy made contact with Davis at the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center when he turned himself in on an active warrant. Davis was arrested on the warrant and released on a $500 bond.

 

Aurelio Perez, 35, 115 Lenny’s Lane, Morgan City, LA, was arrested on December 7, 2018, at 1:59 pm on a warrant for failure to appear on the charge of unlawful use of a drivers license.

A deputy was at the Sheriff’s Office when he was advised that Perez was in the office and held an active warrant for his arrest. The deputy made contact with Perez and advised him of the warrant. Perez was transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center. Bail was set at $500.

 

Ashton Allen, 27, 477 Ehrlich Street, Berwick, LA, was arrested on December 7, 2018, at 1:59 pm for two counts of criminal damage to property.

A corrections deputy received a call that a light had been pulled down in a cell at the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center. Upon entering the cell, the deputy found the light broken along with other damage to the cell. Allen was charged and remains incarcerated. Bail was set at $1,000.

 

Michael Schmitt, 21, 208 Lake Orlean Boulevard, Ponchatoula, LA, was arrested on December 7, 2018, at 9:54 pm for driving under suspension, speeding, improper lane usage, and careless operation.

A deputy patrolling Amelia was dispatched to Lake Palourde Road in reference to a car crash.  Through the investigation, it was learned that the driver lost control of the vehicle, struck another vehicle, and ran off the road into a ditch. The deputy was informed that the driver, Schmitt, was being transported to Teche Regional Hospital for injuries. After being medically cleared, the deputy made contact with Schmitt and transported him to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking. Schmitt was released on a $2,250 bond.

 

Allen McElroy, Jr., 70, 207 Brighton Lane, Berwick, LA, was arrested on December 8, 2018, at 2:08 am for driving while intoxicated and improper lane usage.

Deputies patrolling the area of Highway 90 West observed a vehicle in the ditch at Highway 90 and Delmar Avenue. The deputies stopped and made contact with driver, McElroy. During the stop, the deputies smelled a strong odor of alcoholic beverage coming from McElroy. The deputies conducted field sobriety in which McElroy performed poorly. McElroy was transported to the Morgan City Police Department for chemical testing on the Intoxilizer 9000 which registered his blood alcohol content at 0.196g%. McElroy was transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking. McElroy was released on a $2,750 bond.

 

Abram Hartley, 20, 2838 Highway 182 West, Patterson, LA, was arrested on December 8, 2018, at 10:48 pm for driving under suspension and possession of marijuana.

A deputy patrolling Bayou Vista observed a vehicle fail to stop at a stop sign. The deputy conducted a traffic stop and made contact with the driver, Hartley. During the stop, the deputy learned that Hartley’s license was suspended. The deputy also located marijuana in the vehicle. Hartley was arrested and released on a summons to appear on March 6, 2019.

 

Trent Duhon, 24, 294 Ricohoc Drive, Franklin, LA, was arrested on December 9, 2018, at 2:25 am for driving under suspension.

A deputy patrolling the area of Highway 90 Westbound near the Calumet Bridge observed a vehicle swerving between the center and fog line. The deputy conducted a traffic stop and made contact with the driver, Duhon. Though the stop, the deputy learned that Duhon’s license was suspended. Duhon was arrested and released on a summons to appear on March 6, 2019.

 

Kearias Austin, 17, 130 South Clausin, Centerville, LA, was arrested on December 9, 2018, at 3:18 pm for theft and criminal trespass.

Juvenile male, 14, Centerville, LA, was arrested on December 9, 2018, at 3:18 pm for theft and criminal trespass.

A deputy patrolling Centerville was dispatched to a residence on Highway 317 in reference to a theft. Upon arrival, the deputy made contact with the homeowner who stated that two four-wheelers had been stolen and returned. The homeowner had information that Austin had taken the 4-wheelers.  The deputy made contact with Austin and learned that he and a juvenile male was responsible for taking the 4-wheelers. Austin was arrested and transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking. No bail was set.

The juvenile was arrested and released to a guardian pending juvenile court proceedings.

 

Eddie Norman, Jr., 40, 108 Taryn Lane, Franklin, LA, was arrested on December 10, 2018, at 12:41 am for no insurance, expired drivers license, resisting arrest or officer, and turning movements and required signals.

A deputy patrolling Bayou Vista observed a vehicle fail to use its turn signal. The deputy conducted a traffic stop and attempted to make contact with the driver, Norman, who fled on foot. The deputy apprehended Norman and through the investigation learned that Norman had an expired drivers license and had no insurance.  Norman was transported to the St. Mary Law Enforcement Center for booking. Norman was released on a $3,250 bond.

 

NARCOTICS SECTION

 

Keith Robinson, 39, 492 Verdun Lane, LA, was arrested on December 7, 2018, at 3:48 pm for possession of marijuana.

Narcotics detectives patrolling the area of Franklin  observed several subjects standing in the roadway. When approaching, the detectives noticed one of the subjects throwing a container on the ground. The detectives made contact with the subject, identified as Robinson. The detectives found marijuana in the container. Robinson was arrested and released on a summons to appear on March 6, 2019.
