Arrest Report- December 17, 2018

St. Mary Parish Sheriff Scott Anslum advises that over the last 72-hour reporting period, the Sheriff’s Office responded to 97 complaints and reports the following arrests:

 

Juvenile female, 14, Patterson, LA, was arrested on December 14, 2018, at 11:41 am for disturbing the peace by fighting.

Juvenile female, 16, Patterson, LA, was arrested on December 14, 2018, at 11:41 am for disturbing the peace by fighting.

Deputies patrolling the area of Patterson were dispatched to a location on Main Street in Patterson in reference to a fight. Upon arrival, the deputies made contact with two juvenile females who had been in an altercation. The two juveniles were transported to the St. Mary Parish Branch Office for booking.  Both juveniles were released to their guardians pending juvenile court proceedings.

 

Jeremy Gabriel, 29, 705 1st Street, New Iberia, LA, was arrested on December 14, 2018, at 12:47 pm on two warrants for failure to appear on the charges of possession of Lortab and driving under suspension.

A transportation deputy made contact with Gabriel and transported him to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center from another agency for booking. Bail was set at $200,000.

 

John Henry, 45, 293 Texas Street, Berwick, LA, was arrested on December 14, 2018, at 4:50 pm for trespassing.

A deputy patrolling Bayou Vista was dispatched to a location on Zenor Road in reference to a trespassing complaint.  Upon arrival, the deputy made contact with the property owner who said a man was hunting on the land who was not on the hunting lease. After a short time, the deputy made contact with a man who was coming out of the woods to his vehicle. The man was identified as Henry.  Henry was arrested and released on a summons to appear on March 6, 2019.

 

Robert Marcel, 19, 106 Brighton Lane, Berwick, LA, was arrested on December 14, 2018, at 6:52 pm for possession of marijuana and turning movements and signals.

A deputy patrolling the area of Bayou Vista observed a vehicle fail to use its turn signal at Canal Road. The deputy conducted a traffic stop and made contact with the driver, Marcel. Through the stop, the deputy found marijuana belonging to Marcel. Marcel was arrested and released on a summons to appear on March 6, 2019.

 

Jarrod Leblanc, 25, 130 Elaine Street, Bayou L’ourse, LA, was arrested on December 14, 2018, at 9:40 pm for turning movements and signals, driving under suspension, and expired license plate.

A deputy patrolling the area of LA Highway 182 near the Greenwood Overpass observed a vehicle with no operational license plate lights. The deputy conducted a traffic stop and made contact with the driver, Leblanc. Though the stop, the deputy learned that the license plate was expired and Leblanc’s license was suspended. Leblanc was transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking. Bail was set at $1,500.

 

Dontrell Colbert, 22, 200 Lockley St. Baldwin, LA, was arrested on December 15, 2018, at 2:51 am for the following charges:

-        Possession of CDS (drug-free zone)

-        Possession of schedule I drugs

-        Illegal carrying of a weapon

-        Possession of schedule II drugs

-        Possession of a firearm in presence of CDS

-        Resisting by force

-        Battery on a police officer

Rodrick Dominic, 21, 1123 Highway 83, Ashton, LA, was arrested on December 15, 2018, at 2:51 am for the following charges:

-        Possession of schedule IV drug with intent to distribute

-        Possession of schedule I drug with intent to distribute

-        Possession of CDS (drug-free zone)

-        Possession of drug paraphernalia

-        Resisting officer or arrest

Deputies patrolling the area of Baldwin observed a vehicle with a license plate frame that obscured the license plate. The deputy conducted a traffic stop and made contact with the driver and two passengers. The front seat passenger, later identified as Colbert, attempted to flee and was quickly apprehended. The rear seat passenger, later identified as Dominic, also attempted to flee and was quickly apprehended as well. Though the investigation, the deputies found drugs belonging to Colbert and Dominic and also found a weapon on Colbert’s person. Colbert and Dominic were transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking. Bail was set at $5,000 for Dominic. Colbert was released on a $5,000 bond.

 

Ladante Tabor, 21, 611 Martin Luther King Street, Franklin, LA, was arrested on December 15, 2018, at 5:00 pm on a warrant for monetary instrument abuse.

Deputies patrolling the area of Baldwin observed a vehicle driving on Martin Luther King Street by a subject believed to have an active warrant. The deputy conducted a traffic stop and made contact with the driver, Tabor. Though the stop, the deputy verified that Tabor held an active warrant. Tabor was transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking. No bail has been set.

 

Chad Fisher, 34, 1308 Burke Place, Franklin, LA, was arrested on December 15, 2018, at 9:35 pm for possession of drug paraphernalia and turning movements and required signals.

A deputy patrolling Ricohoc observed a vehicle fail to give a signal when turning. The deputy conducted a traffic stop and made contact with the driver, Fisher. During the stop, the deputy found drug paraphernalia belonging to Fisher. Fisher was arrested and released on a summons to appear on March 6, 2019.

 

Alessie Landry, 34, 131 Verda Street, Pierre Part, LA, was arrested on December 16, 2018, at 5:45 pm for theft.

A deputy patrolling Bayou Vista was dispatched to a local business in response to a theft complaint. Upon arrival, the deputy made contact with business personnel who stated that Landry had been observed attempting to leave the business with merchandise. The deputy made contact with Landry, arrested her, and released her on a summons to appear on March 6, 2019.

 

Bryan Doucet, Jr., 31, 1014 Comeaux Road, New Iberia, LA, was arrested on December 16, 2018, at 5:20 pm for brake lights required and driving under suspension.

A deputy patrolling the area of Franklin observed a vehicle with its brake lights out being driven on Highway 182. The deputy conducted a traffic stop and made contact with the driver, Doucet. Through the stop, the deputy learned that Doucet’s drivers license was suspended. The deputy arrested Doucet and released him on a summons to appear on March 6, 2019.

 

Alandrius White, 36, 713 Duke Street, Morgan City, LA, was arrested on December 16, 2018, at 11:27 pm on a warrant for failure to appear on the charge of principal to distribution of cocaine.

A corrections deputy made contact with White at the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center and arrested White on said warrant. No bail has been set.

 

Jarmarlon Smith, 22, 1401 Pine Street, Franklin, LA, was arrested on December 17, 2018, at 4:41 am for aggravated assault with a firearm and resisting arrest or officer.

A deputy patrolling the area of Baldwin observed a vehicle parked in the middle of Baptiste Street still running. The deputy conducted a traffic stop and was walking to the vehicle when the vehicle sped off. During the chase, the deputy observed Smith open the rear driver side door and point a black handgun at the deputy. After a brief time, the vehicle stopped and three male subjects fled on foot. The deputy apprehended Smith. Smith was transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking. No bail has been set.
