Arrest Report- December 20, 2018

St. Mary Parish Sheriff Blaise Smith advises that over the last 24-hour reporting period, the Sheriff’s Office responded to 43 complaints and reports the following arrests:

 

Marco Maldonado, 43, 5542 Hillman Street, Houston, TX, was arrested on December 19, 2018, at 7:23 pm for disturbing the peace-intoxicated, entry/remaining on premises after being forbidden, and resisting arrest/officer.

A deputy was investigating a theft at a business in Amelia when personnel from the business reported a person on the premises who was intoxicated and refusing to leave after being asked to do so. The deputy made contact with the person, identified as Maldonado, and arrested him. Maldonado resisted the deputy during the process. Maldonado was transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking. Bail was set at $4,000.

 

Juan Sustaita-Molina, 32, 813 Cypress Street, Amelia, LA, was arrested on December 19, 2018, at 9:25 pm for driving while intoxicated, driver must be licensed, open container, and brake lights required.   

Deputies patrolling Bayou Vista observed a vehicle being driven with no operational brake lights and was swerving. The deputy conducted a traffic stop and made contact with the driver, Molina. During the stop, the deputy located an open container of alcoholic beverage in the vehicle. The deputy noticed that Molina’s speech was slurred and conducted field sobriety in which Molina performed poorly.  Molina was transported to the Morgan City Police Department for a breath test which he refused to take. Molina was transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking. Bail was set at $3,250.  

 

Valencia Mitchell, 57, 119 Madison Street, Franklin, LA, was arrested on December 19, 2018, at 8:28 pm for driving under suspension, no insurance, and license plate lights required.

A deputy patrolling the area of Franklin observed a vehicle with no license plate lights. The deputy conducted a traffic stop and made contact with the driver, Mitchell. Through the stop, the deputy learned that Mitchell had no insurance and her drivers license was suspended. Mitchell was arrested and released on a summons to appear on March 6, 2019.

 

Seth Lovett, 31, 407 St. Peter Street, Patterson, LA, was arrested on December 20, 2018, at 1:04 am on a warrant for failure to appear on the charge of criminal neglect of family.   

Deputies patrolling the area of Patterson were dispatched to a local business in reference to a complaint involving a suspicious person. Upon arrival, the deputies made contact with the male subject, identified as Lovett. Through the investigation, the deputies learned of an active warrant for Lovett’s arrest. Lovett was advised of the warrant and was transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking. No bail has been set.  

 

Joseph Demarco, 53, 125 Flattown Road, Jeanerette, LA, was arrested on December 20, 2018, at 4:55 am for turning movements and signals, possession of schedule II drugs, possession of drug paraphernalia, failure to pay sex offender registration fee, failure to provide notification as a sex offender or child predator, and on a warrant for failure to appear on the charges of expired license plate and no insurance.

Stacey Grubb, 38, 618 Willow Street, Franklin, LA, was arrested on December 20, 2018, at 4:55 am on four warrants for failure to appear on the charges of violation of protective order (2x), possession of drug paraphernalia, operating a vehicle while license is suspended/revoked/canceled, no insurance, expired inspection, and improper use of registration/license plate,

A deputy patrolling the area of Franklin observed a vehicle fail to use it’s turn signal while making a turn onto Highway 3211.  The deputy conducted a traffic stop and made contact with the driver, Demarco and a passenger, Grubb. Through the investigation, the deputy found drugs and drug paraphernalia in the vehicle. The deputy also learned of active warrants for both Demarco and Grubb. Demarco and Grubb were transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking. No bail has been set for Demarco. Bail was denied for Grubb.
