Arrest Report- January 10, 2019

St. Mary Parish Sheriff Blaise Smith advises that over the last 24-hour reporting period, the Sheriff’s Office responded to 36 complaints and reports the following arrests:

Lucius Romero, Jr., 43, 1400 North Third Street, Morgan City, LA, was arrested on January 8, 2018, at 10:41 am on a warrant for failure to appear on the charge of criminal neglect of family.

A corrections deputy made contact with Romero when he was brought to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for a parole violation. The deputy learned of an active warrant for Romero and advised him of the warrant. Romero was booked on said warrant. No bail has been set.

 

Renardo Stewart, 42, 900 Mississippi Street, New Iberia, LA, was arrested on January 9, 2018, at 8:50 am on a warrant for driving under suspension and maximum speed limit.

A deputy patrolling the area of Franklin observed a vehicle traveling over the posted speed limit on Easy Street. The deputy conducted a traffic stop and made contact with the driver, Stewart.  Through the stop, the deputy learned that Stewart’s driver's license was suspended. Stewart was arrested and released on a summons to appear on April 4, 2019.

 

Lequandrae Poledore, 18, 524 Seventh Street, Franklin, LA, was arrested on January 9, 2018, at 11:23 am for battery-simple.

A corrections deputy made contact with Poledore when it was reported that Poledore had thrown water on a nurse at the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center. The deputy advised him of the charges and booked him. Poledore continues to be incarcerated. No bail has been set.

 

Michael Trosclair, 39, 117 Caribbean Street, Jeanerette, LA, was arrested on January 9, 2018, at 1:40 pm for aggravated crime against nature.

Deputies made contact with Trosclair when they located him at a location on Highway 319 at Cypremort Point. Trosclair held an active warrant for his arrest.  The deputies advised him of the warrant and transported him to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking.  The deputy advised him of the charges and booked him. Bail was set at $45,000.

 

Ricky Simon, 60, 108 Romero Lane, Jeanerette, LA, was arrested on January 9, 2018, at 2:42 pm on a warrant for disturbing the peace by fighting and disturbing the peace intoxicated.

A deputy was dispatched to the 6th floor of the St. Mary Parish Courthouse in reference to a subject that held an active warrant.  Upon arrival, the deputy made contact with Simon and advised him of the warrant. Simon was transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking. Simon was released on his own recognizance.

 

Raven Piggot, 24, 507 Carol Road, Bayou Vista, LA, was arrested on January 9, 2018, at 10:29 pm on a warrant for disturbing the peace by fighting.

Deputies patrolling Bayou Vista went to a residence on Carol Road in reference to a follow up on a previous case.  Upon arrival, the deputies made contact with Piggot and were advised by dispatch that she held an active warrant. The deputies advised Piggot of the warrant and transported her to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking. Piggot was transferred to another agency.

 

Courtlin Carter, 29, 939 Birch Street, Morgan City, LA, was arrested on January 10, 2018, at 12:50 am on a warrant for battery-aggravated.

Deputies patrolling the area of Siracusa conducted a traffic stop on Grace Street.  During the stop, the deputies made contact with a passenger, identified as Carter. The deputies learned of an active warrant for Carter. Carter was transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking. No bail has been set.

 

Joseph Singleton, Jr., 18, 912 Jason Street, Patterson, LA, was arrested on January 10, 2018, at 1:26 am for possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, and turning movements and required signals.

A deputy patrolling Bayou Vista observed a vehicle fail to give a proper turn signal. The deputy conducted a traffic stop and made contact with the driver, Singleton. Through the stop, the deputy found drugs and drug paraphernalia belonging to Singleton. Singleton was arrested and released on a summons to appear on April 4, 2019.

 

Richard Taylor, 34, 30040 Hubert Stilley Road, Independence, LA, was arrested on January 10, 2018, at 4:49 am for driving while intoxicated, open container, and illegal carrying of a weapon.

Deputies patrolling Amelia observed a vehicle with its lights on, parked in the parking lot of a business after operating hours. The deputies approached the vehicle and made contact with the driver, Taylor.  The deputies observed an open container of alcoholic beverage in the vehicle. Taylor exhibited signs of intoxication upon stepping out of the vehicle.  Through the investigation, a handgun was found on his person. Taylor was transported to the Morgan City Police Department for chemical testing on the Intoxilizer 9000. Taylor’s blood alcohol content tested at 0.204 g%. Taylor was transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking. No bail has been set.  

 

NARCOTICS SECTION

Wilbert Granger, 34, 1214 Joseph Street, Siracusaville, LA, was arrested on January 9, 2018, at 2:00 pm on a warrant for the following charges:

-        Resisting an officer

-        Possession of schedule II crack cocaine with intent to distribute

-        Possession of schedule I marijuana with intent to distribute

-        Possession of drug paraphernalia

-        Obstruction of justice

-        Violation of CDS law, drug-free zone (church)

-        Possession of a firearm in presence of a controlled dangerous substance

-        Possession of a firearm by a convicted felon

-        Possession of schedule II cocaine

A narcotics detective booked Granger on additional charges from a warrant for his arrest. Granger was brought into the booking area and booked with the additional charges. The warrant stems from an investigation on October 22, 2018, in the Siracusaville area. Granger was booked on said charges and continues to be incarcerated at the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center. No bail has been set.
