Arrest Report- January 14, 2019

St. Mary Parish Sheriff Blaise Smith advises that over the last 72-hour reporting period, the Sheriff’s Office responded to 125 complaints and reports the following arrests:

 

Mandi Hatfield, 31, 807 Florence Street, Morgan City, LA, was arrested on January 11, 2019, at 1:23 pm for no drivers license and hit and run.

A deputy was dispatched to an area on Teche Road in reference to a vehicle theft complaint. When in route, the deputy was made aware that the vehicle had pulled into a business parking lot on Southeast Boulevard and struck another vehicle before leaving the scene. The deputy observed the vehicle and conducted a traffic stop on Highway 90 near Thorguson. The deputy made contact with the driver, Hatfield, and through the stop, the deputy was unable to get a valid license from Hatfield. Hatfield was transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking and was later released on a $1,250 bond.

 

Mickie Druilhet, Jr., 32, 109 Batiste Street, Baldwin, LA, was arrested on January 11, 2019, at 5:20 pm on a warrant for failure to appear on the charge of resisting an officer by providing false information, operating a vehicle while license is suspended/revoked/canceled, and operating a vehicle with an unlit license plate.

A deputy was in a business in Baldwin assisting with a fight when he observed Druilhet who he knew had an active warrant for his arrest. The deputy made contact with Druilhet and advised him of the warrant. Druilhet was transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking and was later released on a $2,000 bond.

 

Joshua Jones, 31, 210 Lacy Street, Franklin, LA, was arrested on January 11, 2019, at 7:32 pm for burglary of an inhabited dwelling-attempted.

A deputy patrolling the area of Morgan City was dispatched to a medical facility in reference to a subject with an active warrant who was being released from the facility. Upon arrival, the deputy made contact with the subject, identified as Jones, and advised him of the warrant. Jones was transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking. No bail has been set.

 

Christopher Plouet, 46, 612 Highway 90, Patterson, LA, was arrested on January 11, 2019, at 7:00 pm for possession of legend drug without prescription.

A deputy patrolling the area of Baldwin was dispatched to an area of Highway 90 in reference to a reckless driver. The deputy observed the vehicle and conducted a traffic stop. The deputy made contact with the driver and a passenger, identified as Plouet, and through the stop, drugs were found in Plouet’s possession for which he had no prescription. Plouet was arrested and released on a summons to appear on April 4, 2019.

 

Chanedra Jones, 32, 1401 First Street, Patterson, LA, was arrested on January 11, 2019, at 10:43 pm for possession of marijuana and license plate lights required.

A deputy patrolling the area of Baldwin was observed a vehicle without proper license plate lights. The deputy conducted a traffic stop and made contact with the driver, Jones. Through the stop, drugs were found. Jones was arrested and released on a summons to appear on April 4, 2019.

 

Michelle Ramkhalawan-Ocasio, 41, 827 Cypress Street, Morgan City, LA, was arrested on January 12, 2019, at 3:02 am for driving under suspension and improper lane usage.

A deputy patrolling Bayou Vista observed a vehicle swerving in the lane of travel on Highway 90 east. The deputy conducted a traffic stop and made contact with the driver, Ramkhalawan-Ocasio. Through the stop, the deputy learned that Ramkhalawan-Ocasio’s license was suspended. She was arrested and released on a summons to appear on April 4, 2019.

 

Sean Dupont, Jr., 24, 4989 Bayou Black Drive, Gibson, LA, was arrested on January 12, 2019, at 3:37 am on a warrant for failure to appear on the charges of possession of heroin with intent to distribute, possession of synthetic cannabinoids, and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Mia Blair, 21, 508 Greenwood Street, Morgan City, LA, was arrested on January 12, 2019, at 3:37 am on a warrant for failure to appear on the charges of possession of methamphetamine, possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, illegal possession of stolen things, and improper use  of registration/license plates.

A deputy went to a residence on Hickory Street in Patterson in reference to Mia Blair who held an active warrant for her arrest. Upon arrival, the deputy made contact with Blair and a male subject, identified as Dupont, who also held an active warrant. The deputy advised Blair and Dupont of the warrants and transported them to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking.  No bail has been set.

 

Juvenile female, 16, Franklin, LA, was arrested on January 12, 2019, at 9:45 pm for runaway juvenile.

A deputy patrolling the area of Franklin was dispatched to a residence in Franklin in reference to a runaway juvenile. Upon arrival, the deputy made contact with a female guardian who stated that the juvenile had left the residence without permission during the night and had not returned. Approximately 2 hours later, the guardian contacted the deputy and advised him that the juvenile had returned home. The deputy returned to the residence and made contact with the juvenile and the guardian. The juvenile was arrested and released to the guardian pending juvenile court proceedings.

 

Krystal Meranta, 29, 206 Clark Road, Bayou Vista, LA, was arrested on January 12, 2019, at 1:04 pm on a warrant for failure to appear on the charge of theft.

A corrections deputy made contact with Meranta when she turned herself in at the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center. Meranta was arrested on said warrant and incarcerated. No bail has been set.

 

Anthony Jones, 41, 606 Cleveland Avenue, Patterson, LA, was arrested on January 12, 2019, at 8:41 pm for attempted escape and criminal damage to property-simple.

A corrections deputy observed Jones cause damage to a light fixture in his cell. Jones was placed in another room and subsequently attempted to escape from that room. Jones’ attempt was not successful and deputies kept him in custody. Acadian Ambulance was called to give medical attention to Jones and after being medically cleared, Jones was booked on the charges of criminal damage to property and attempted escape.  No bail has been set.

 

Waylon Young, 47, 1419 Tara Street, Houma, LA, was arrested on January 13, 2019, at 12:19 am for possession of marijuana, driving under suspension, and on two warrants for failure to appear on the charges of simple battery and criminal neglect of family.  

Kristain Sanders, 20, 495 North Walker Road, Rockport, TX, was arrested on January 13, 2019, at 12:01 am for possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.  

A deputy patrolling Highway 90 observed a stalled vehicle on the Siracusa High Rise near mile marker 179. The deputy stopped and made contact with the driver, identified as Young and a passenger, identified as Sanders. During the stop, the deputy learned that Young’s license was suspended and drugs were found in the vehicle. The deputy was advised by dispatch of active warrants for both Young and Sanders. Young and Sanders were transported them to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking.  No bail has been set for Young. Sanders was released on a $3,500 bond.

 

Jasmine Thomas, 20, 130 South Clausen Road, Centerville, LA, was arrested on January 13, 2019, at 12:54 pm for resisting arrest or officer and disturbing the peace by language.

A deputy was working an active crime scene when he made contact with Thomas. Thomas crossed the crime scene perimeter several times after being warned. Thomas became angry and shouted profanities at deputies. Thomas was arrested and released on a summons to appear on April 4, 2019.

 

Yvonne Vilo, 60, 902 Washington Street, Patterson, LA, was arrested on January 13, 2019, at 3:56 pm for theft.  

A deputy patrolling the area of Bayou Vista was dispatched to a local business in reference to a theft. Upon arrival, the deputy made contact with business personnel who stated that a woman, identified as Vilo, attempted to leave the store with merchandise. The deputy made contact with Vilo and arrested her. Vilo was released on a summons to appear on April 4, 2019.

 

Daniel Griffin, 41, 3522 Highway 182, Berwick, LA, was arrested on January 13, 2019, at 7:26 pm for resisting an officer, possession of schedule II (crack cocaine), and on a warrant for failure to appear on the charges of speeding, operating a vehicle without a driver’s license, and failing to honor a written promise to appear.  

A deputy patrolling Bayou Vista was dispatched to a local business in reference to a suspicious person on the premises. Upon arrival, the deputy made contact with business personnel who pointed out the suspicious person to the deputy. The deputy made contact with the person, identified as Griffin and began to question him. The deputy learned of an active warrant for Griffin’s arrest and advised him of the warrant. Griffin then fled on foot from the deputy and was apprehended moments later. A witness informed the deputy of a bag that she observed Griffin throw down as he was fleeing. The bag was recovered and contained drugs. Griffin was transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking.  No bail has been set.

 

Melissa Wynne, 38, 507 Linda Anne Avenue, Gray, LA, was arrested on January 13, 2019, at 10:10 pm for possession of marijuana.  

A deputy patrolling the area of Bayou Vista observed a vehicle fail to use a proper turn signal in a J turn lane. The deputy conducted a traffic stop and made contact with the driver and a passenger, identified as Wynne. Through the stop, drugs were found. Wynne was arrested and released on a summons to appear on April 4, 2019.

 

Larrian Harris, 20, 3100 Shannon Drive, Violet, LA, was arrested on January 13, 2019, at 11:10 pm for reckless operation.   

A deputy traveling east on Highway 90 in the area of Morgan City observed a vehicle traveling west at a high rate of speed. The deputy conducted a traffic stop and made contact with the driver, Harris. Harris was arrested and released on a summons to appear on April 4, 2019.

 

NARCOTICS SECTION

Eric Harvey, 33, 415 Adams Street, Morgan City, LA, was arrested on January 12, 2019, at 3:01 am for possession of schedule I.   

A deputy with the K-9 section of the St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s Office was patrolling Bayou Vista assisted another deputy on a traffic stop on Highway 90 near Southeast Boulevard when he made contact with the passenger of the car, Harvey. During the stop, the deputy found drugs in Harvey’s possession. Harvey was arrested and released on a summons to appear on April 4, 2019.
