Detectives with the St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Section learned that Jones was at a Morgan City Court. The detectives made contact with Jones and advised him of the warrant. Jones was transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking.

The warrant stemmed from an incident on September 14, 2018, in which detectives observed Jones give a backpack to a female. The detectives made contact with the female after Jones drove off from the location and found marijuana in the backpack.

K-9 Buddy was deployed to conduct an open-air scan on the vehicle and displayed an odor response on the vehicle. The K-9 officer made contact with the driver, Clark, and the passenger, Bourgeois.
