Arrest Report- January 28, 2019

St. Mary Parish Sheriff Blaise Smith advises that over the last 72-hour reporting period, the Sheriff’s Office responded to 127 complaints and reports the following arrests:

 

Debra Desoto, 50, 810 Wright Avenue, Houma, LA, was arrested on January 25, 2019, at 6:51 am for driving under suspension and no headlights.  

A deputy patrolling Bayou Vista observed a vehicle without a working passenger side headlight. The deputy conducted a traffic stop and made contact with the driver, Desoto. Through the stop, the deputy learned that Desoto’s driver’s license was suspended. Desoto was arrested and released on a summons to appear on April 4, 2019.

 

Jerry Reed, 56, 1410 Fairmont Avenue, Bayou Vista, LA, was arrested on January 25, 2019, at 10:54 am for motor vehicle inspection sticker required on vehicle, drivers license suspended, and on an active warrant for failure to appear on the charge of issuing worthless checks.   

A deputy patrolling Bayou Vista observed a vehicle without inspection sticker on the windshield. The deputy conducted a traffic stop and made contact with the driver, Reed. Through the stop, the deputy learned that Reed’s driver’s license was suspended and he held an active warrant for his arrest. Reed was transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking and was released on a $250 bond.

 

Carlos Joseph, 28, 1004 Big Four Corners Road, Jeanerette, LA, was arrested on January 25, 2019, at 11:57 am for driving under suspension and stop signs and yield signs.  

Deputies patrolling the area of Baldwin observed a vehicle pass through a stop sign without stopping. The deputies conducted a traffic stop and made contact with the driver, Joseph. Through the stop, the deputy learned that Joseph’s driver’s license was suspended. Joseph was arrested and released on a summons to appear on April 4, 2019.

 

Louis Green, 27, 130 Sager Brown Road, Baldwin, LA, was arrested on January 25, 2019, at 5:05 pm for driving under suspension and turning movements and required signals.  

Deputies patrolling the area of Baldwin observed a vehicle turn onto Railroad Avenue without signaling. The deputies conducted a traffic stop and made contact with the driver, Green. Through the stop, the deputies learned that Green’s driver’s license was suspended. Green was arrested and released on a summons to appear on April 4, 2019.

 

Joshua Tyler, 35, 911 West Main Street, New Iberia, LA, was arrested on January 25, 2019, at 8:09 pm on a warrant for failure to appear on the charge of criminal neglect of family.   

A deputy patrolling the area of Franklin observed a vehicle traveling east enter the westbound lane momentarily. The deputy conducted a traffic stop and made contact with the driver, Tyler. Through the stop, the deputy learned of an active warrant for Tyler’s arrest. Tyler was transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking. Bail was set at $8,428.33.

 

Beverly George, 55, 114 Plain Drive, Thibodaux, LA, was arrested on January 25, 2019, at 11:27 pm for disturbing the peace-intoxicated and entry or remaining in places or on land after being forbidden.    

A deputy patrolling Amelia was dispatched to a local business in reference to removing a subject who refused to leave the business. Upon arrival, the deputy made contact with security officers and the subject, identified as George. George was shouting profanities at officers and patrons. George was transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking. George was later released on a $1,000 bond.

 

Chesity Boutte, 41, 2207 Nico Town Road, New Iberia, LA, was arrested on January 26, 2019, at 3:00 am for reckless operation and resisting an officer by flight.

A deputy patrolling the area of Jeanerette Highway 90 was dispatched to an area on Highway 90 close to the St. Mary/New Iberia Parish Line in reference to a vehicle traveling west on the eastbound lanes. Upon arrival, the deputy observed the vehicle traveling west in the eastbound lanes. The deputy turned on his overhead lights and attempted to get the vehicle to stop, but the vehicle continued at speeds of 80 miles per hour. The deputy crossed the median and got behind the vehicle at which time the vehicle came to a stop and the deputy made contact with the driver, Boutte. The Louisiana State Police, came on the scene and conducted field sobriety and handled the DUI charges. Boutte was transported to the Iberia Parish Jail for booking.  Afterward, the deputy transported Boutte was transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking. Boutte was later released on a $2,000 bond.

 

Rachel Jackson, 55, 512 Ibert Street, Franklin, LA, was arrested on January 26, 2019, at 8:31 am for driving under suspension and speeding.   

Deputies patrolling the area of Centerville observed a vehicle traveling faster than the posted speed on Highway 182. The deputies conducted a traffic stop and made contact with the driver, Jackson. Through the stop, the deputies learned that Jackson’s driver’s license was suspended. Jackson was arrested and released on a summons to appear on April 4, 2019.

 

Henry Pierce, 40, 1822 Maple Street, Morgan City, LA, was arrested on January 26, 2019, at 9:46 am for

-        Possession of schedule II drugs

-        Possession of marijuana

-        Possession of drug paraphernalia

-        Possess of CDS in the presence of a person under 17

Pierce was also arrested on a warrant for failure to appear on the charge of criminal neglect of family.

A deputy patrolling Bayou Vista observed a vehicle with an outdated motor vehicle inspection sticker. The deputy conducted a traffic stop and made contact with the driver and several passengers. Through the investigation, the deputy learned that one of the passengers, identified as Pierce, held an active warrant for his arrest. Pierce also was found to have drugs and drug paraphernalia in his possession. Pierce was transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking. Bail was set at $25, 927. 

 

Joseph Reed, 34, 603 Robert Street, Franklin, LA, was arrested on January 26, 2019, at 12:08 pm for driving under suspension and maximum speed limit.   

Deputies were monitoring traffic on Irish Bend Road in the Franklin area when they observed a vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed. The deputies conducted a traffic stop and made contact with the driver, Reed. Through the stop, the deputies learned that Reed’s driver’s license was suspended. Reed was arrested and released on a summons to appear on April 4, 2019.

 

Michael Landry, 34, 1057 Eagle Street, Franklin, LA, was arrested on January 26, 2019, at 2:32 pm for possession of marijuana.   

Deputies were attempting to serve a protective order for a subject at a residence on Pecot Lane in Franklin. Upon arrival, the deputies saw two subjects in a vehicle in front of the residence. One of the subjects looked like the subject the deputies were attempting to locate. The deputies made contact with the subject, identified as Landry, who was not the subject they were looking to serve. While speaking to Landry, the deputies smelled a strong odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle. Landry had marijuana in his possession.  Landry was arrested and released on a summons to appear on April 4, 2019.

 

Kibreana Mitchell, 18, 511 South Bailey Street, Abbeville, LA, was arrested on January 26, 2019, at 3:15 pm for no child restraint, speeding, no insurance, driving under suspension, and on an active warrant for battery-simple.    

Deputies were monitoring traffic on Irish Bend Road in the Franklin area when they observed a vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed. The deputies conducted a traffic stop and made contact with the driver, Mitchell. Deputies observed a small child without a proper restraint system. Mitchell was not able to produce proof of insurance. During the stop, the deputies also learned that Mitchell’s driver’s license was suspended and that Mitchell held an active warrant for her arrest. Mitchell was transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking. Mitchell was later released on a $1,750 bond.

 

Tyjuandre Harris, 22, 502 Frederick Lane, Baldwin, LA, was arrested on January 26, 2019, at 5:30 pm for resisting arrest or officer (x3) and unauthorized entry of an inhabited dwelling.    

Deputies patrolling Martin Luther King Boulevard near Frederick Lane observed a male subject wearing a hoodie with his hand inside the pocket pointing at another person as if he had a gun. Upon seeing the deputies, Harris began to walk away. When deputies called for him to stop, Harris began to run. The deputies chased him and Harris ran into a residence. Deputies took custody of Harris inside the residence. Through the investigation, the homeowner wished to press charges as Harris did not have permission to enter the residence. Harris was transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking. Bail was set at $5,000.

 

Ashlea Gaudet, 34, 1683 Highway 317, Centerville, LA, was arrested on January 26, 2019, at 7:26 pm for theft.

A deputy patrolling Bayou Vista was dispatched to a local business in reference to a theft complaint. Upon arrival, the deputy made contact with business personnel who stated that Gaudet had removed a price tag from a less valued item and placed it on a higher value item to purchase. Gaudet was arrested and released on a summons to appear on April 4, 2019.

 

Abdul Tate, 24, 616 Cypremort Road, Jeanerette, LA, was arrested on January 27, 2019, at 4:30 pm for driving under suspension.

A deputy patrolling the area of Jeanerette was dispatched to a location on Pepper Road for a traffic incident in which a vehicle was stuck in a driveway due to a mechanical issue. Upon arrival, the deputy made contact with the driver, Tate. Through the investigation, the deputy learned that Tate’s driver’s license was suspended. Tate was arrested and released on a summons to appear on April 4, 2019.

 

Maria Machado, 45, 332 Oriole Street, Morgan City, LA, was arrested on January 27, 2019, at 6:42 pm for theft.

A deputy patrolling Bayou Vista was dispatched to a local business in reference to a theft complaint. Upon arrival, the deputy made contact with business personnel who stated that a female subject had been seen placing items inside her purse without paying for them. The deputy made contact with the subject, identified as Machado, and found her in possession of items that she admitted she had taken from the business.  Machado was arrested and released on a summons to appear on April 4, 2019.
