Arrest Report- February 4, 2019

St. Mary Parish Sheriff Blaise Smith advises that over the last 72-hour reporting period, the Sheriff’s Office responded to 113 complaints and reports the following arrests:

 

Yarlin Almanza, 23, 1135 4th Street, Morgan City, LA, was arrested on February 1, 2019, at 11:51 am for theft.

A deputy patrolling Bayou Vista was dispatched to a local business in reference to a theft. Upon arrival, the deputy made contact with store personnel who stated that a female had tried to exit the business with merchandise without making payment. The deputy questioned the female, identified as Almanza, and arrested her.  Almanza was released on a summons to appear on May 2, 2019.  

 

Tommy Harding, Jr., 29, 137 Friendship Alley, Amelia, LA, was arrested on February 1, 2019, at 10:14 am on a warrant for forgery.

Deputies located Harding at a residence on Friendship Alley.  They were aware of an active warrant for Harding that stemmed from an incident on January 28, 2019, in which Harding went into a local business and attempted to cash a check not belonging to him. The check was written to a man who had deceased. The check was suspected to have been stolen from the deceased man’s residence. Harding was transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking. Harding was released on a $1,500 bond.

 

Ross Benoit, 20, 342 Queen Row, Lafayette, LA, was arrested on February 1, 2019, at 12:22 pm on a warrant for failure to appear on the charges of possession of synthetic cannabinoids and intentional littering.

A corrections deputy made contact with Benoit when he turned himself in at the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center on an active warrant for his arrest. Benoit was booked on said warrant and incarcerated. Harding was transferred to another agency.

 

Toby Breaux, 20, 233 North Bay Road, Pierre Part, LA, was arrested on February 1, 2019, at 1:35 pm for maximum speed limit.

A deputy conducting speed enforcement on Highway 90 West in Amelia observed a vehicle traveling west on Highway 90 at a high rate of speed.  The deputy conducted a traffic stop and made contact with the driver, Breaux. Breaux was arrested and released on a summons to appear on May 2, 2019.

 

Joshua Repp, 22, 541 David Road, Bayou Vista, LA, was arrested on February 1, 2019, at 11:33 pm for theft and possession of drug paraphernalia. 

Deputies were dispatched to a residence on Universe Street in reference to a suspicious person with a knife. Upon arrival, the deputies made contact with a man identified as Repp. Through the investigation, it was learned that Repp had possession of drug paraphernalia and some items he had taken from someone. Repp was arrested and released on a summons to appear on May 2, 2019.

 

Michael Sweetser, Jr., 36, 154 Sun Road, Bayou Vista, LA, was arrested on February 1, 2019, at 11:45 pm for distribution of schedule II drugs, possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, and possession of CDS in the presence of a person under 17 years of age.

Heather Eschliman, 24, 214 Universe Street, Bayou Vista, LA, was arrested on February 1, 2019, at 11:45 pm for possession of methamphetamine, possession of drug paraphernalia, and possession of CDS in the presence of a person under 17 years of age.

Deputies were dispatched to a residence on Universe Street in reference to a suspicious person with a knife. Upon arrival, the deputies made contact with Sweetser and Eschliman and another male subject.  Through the investigation, the deputies found drugs and drug paraphernalia belonging to Sweetser and Eschliman. Sweetser and Eschliman were transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking.  Bail was set at $10,000 for each of them.

 

Nicole Atkinson, 33, 2615 College Drive, Baton Rouge, LA, was arrested on February 2, 2019, at 9:17 am on a warrant for failure to appear on the charge of simple battery (x2), theft by shoplifting, and contempt of court-terms of probation.

A deputy was dispatched to a residence on Southeast Boulevard in Bayou Vista to meet a bondsman who had a female with a warrant. Upon arrival, the deputy made contact with the bondsman and Atkinson.  Atkinson was transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking.  Bail was set at $3,648.

 

Michael Dupre, 25, 131 Greenleaf Boulevard, Morgan City, LA, was arrested on February 2, 2019, at 7:07 pm for driving while intoxicated, careless operation, and open container.

Deputies were dispatched to the area of Highway 90 eastbound in the area of the Amelia exit in reference to a vehicle being driven recklessly. Deputies observed the vehicle and conducted a traffic stop. The deputies made contact with the driver, Dupre. Deputies observed open containers in the vehicle and Dupre stumbled when exiting the vehicle, appearing to be intoxicated. The deputies conducted field sobriety in which Dupre performed poorly. Dupre was transported to the Morgan City Police Department for chemical testing on the Intoxilizer 9000. Dupre’s blood alcohol content was .308g%. Dupre was transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking.  Dupre was later released on a $3,500 bond.

 

Travell Davis, 31, 907 Delmar Road, Morgan City, LA, was arrested on February 2, 2019, at 10:46 pm on a warrant for failure to appear on the charges of operating a vehicle while license is suspended and speeding.

A deputy patrolling Bayou Vista observed a vehicle that appeared to be stranded behind a local business. The deputy made contact with the driver, Davis. Through the investigation, the deputy learned of an active warrant for Davis’ arrest. Davis was transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking.  Davis was later released on a $250 bond.

 

Seth Boudreaux, 30, 1508 McDermott Drive, Morgan City, LA, was arrested on February 3, 2019, at 2:31 am for driving while intoxicated and procedure on approach of an authorized emergency vehicle.

Deputies were engaged in a traffic stop on Highway 90 in the Bayou Vista area when a vehicle drove past them at a high rate of speed. One of the deputies conducted a traffic stop and made contact with the driver, Boudreaux. The deputy noticed that Boudreaux appeared to be intoxicated. The deputy conducted field sobriety in which Boudreaux performed poorly. Boudreaux was transported to the Berwick Police Department for chemical testing on the Intoxilizer 9000. Dupre’s blood alcohol content was .234g%. Boudreaux was transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking.  Dupre was later released on a $2,750 bond.

 

John Gautreaux, 56, 905 Elizabeth Street, Lockport, LA, was arrested on February 3, 2019, at 6:59 am for domestic abuse battery.

Mindy Gautreaux, 40, 905 Elizabeth Street, Lockport, LA, was arrested on February 3, 2019, at 6:59 am for domestic abuse battery.

A deputy was dispatched to a local business in Amelia in reference to a disturbance. Upon arrival, the deputy made contact with both M. Gautreaux and J. Gautreaux. Through the investigation, the deputy learned that they had been in a physical altercation. Both were transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking.  No bail has been set.

 

Shannon Wright, 28, 111 Cypress Lane, Patterson, LA, was arrested on February 3, 2019, at 4:15 pm on a warrant for telephone calls-harassment.

A deputy went to a residence on Cypress Lane in reference to Shannon Wright, who held an active warrant for her arrest. Upon arrival, the deputy made contact with Wright and advised her of the warrant. Wright was transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking, and was later released on a $500 bond.

 

Jonathan Borne, 36, 106 Southeast Boulevard, Bayou Vista, LA, was arrested on February 3, 2019, at 8:13 am on two warrants for failure to appear on the charges of illegal possession of stolen things and possession of clonazepam.  

A deputy was dispatched to an area on Verdun Lane in response to a trespassing complaint. Upon arrival, the deputy made contact with a subject matching the description who was identified as Borne.  Through the investigation, the deputy learned of active warrants for Borne’s arrest. Borne was transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking.  No bail has been set.

 

Jimmy Bridges, 53, 132 Vaughn Lane, Franklin, LA, was arrested on February 3, 2019, at 2:49 pm on two warrants for failure to appear on the charges of domestic abuse battery (x2).

A deputy made contact with Bridges at a medical facility in Franklin and advised him of the warrants. Bridges was transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking.  No bail has been set.

 

Kimberly Druilhet, 22, 205 John Street, Baldwin, LA, was arrested on February 4, 2019, at 11:47 pm on three warrants for failure to appear on the charges of disturbing the peace by fighting, simple criminal damage to property, and possession of marijuana or synthetic cannabinoids.

A deputy was dispatched to John Street and Railroad in the Franklin area in reference to a disturbance.  Upon arrival, the deputy made contact with Druilhet, who had been involved in the disturbance and held active warrants for her arrest. After being checked out and medically cleared, Druilhet was transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking.  Bail was set at $5,000.

 

NARCOTICS SECTION

Nicole Jones, 33, 109 Jupiter Street, Bayou Vista, LA, was arrested on February 1, 2019, at 2:46 pm for possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, and possession of a CDS in the presence of a minor.

Cody Edwards, 37, 109 Jupiter Street, Bayou Vista, LA, was arrested on February 1, 2019, at 2:50 pm for possession of drug paraphernalia.

Stephanie Crothers, 47, 156 Highway 403, Napoleonville, LA, was arrested on February 1, 2019, at 2:48 pm for possession of marijuana.

Patty Uriegas, 26, 156 Highway 403, Napoleonville, LA, was arrested on February 1, 2019, at 2:15 pm on a warrant for failure to appear on the charges of driving under suspension and operating a vehicle with improperly lit lamps for conditions.

Detectives with the SMPSO Narcotics Section received a complaint from dispatch about narcotics activity taking place at a residence on Jupiter Street in Bayou Vista. The detectives went to the residence and upon arrival could smell marijuana coming from the residence.  The detectives made contact with Jones, Edwards, Crothers, and Uriegas, and obtained a warrant to search the residence. Through the investigation, drugs and drug paraphernalia were found in the residence. Detectives also learned that Uriegas had an active warrant for her arrest. Crothers and Edwards were arrested and released on a summons to appear on May 2, 2019. Jones and Uriegas were transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking.  Bail was set at $2,000 for Uriegas.  Bail was set at $1,500 for Jones.
