St. Mary Parish Sheriff Blaise Smith advises that over the last 24-hour reporting period, the Sheriff’s Office responded to 17 complaints and reports the following arrests:

 

Lamonta Thomas, 22, 130 South Clausin Street, Franklin, LA, was arrested on February 12, 2019, at 11:06 am for battery on a police officer, criminal damage to property-simple, and on four warrants for failure to appear on the charges of theft of goods, contributing to the delinquency of juveniles, possession of marijuana, flight from an officer, operating a vehicle without properly lit lamps for conditions, and operating a vehicle without a driver’s license.

A detective was conducting a standby to keep the peace while bond agents attempted to locate Thomas for bond revocation at a residence on South Clausin Street in Franklin. The bond agents and the detective made contact with Thomas inside the residence and Thomas resisted arrest. Thomas fled the residence and went under a house and was subsequently apprehended. The water pipes under the house were damaged by Thomas. Thomas was transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking. Bond was set at $21,500.
