Arrest Report- February 20, 2019

St. Mary Parish Sheriff Blaise Smith advises that over the last 24-hour reporting period, the Sheriff’s Office responded to 33 complaints and reports the following arrests:

Tony J. Gibson, 54, 128 Martin Luther King Blvd., Baldwin, La, was arrested on February 19, 2019, at 4:59 pm for disturbing the peace by fighting.

Shana Mechell Gray, 38, 1137 Lee St., Patterson, La, was arrested on February 19, 2019, at 4:59 pm for disturbing the peace by fighting.

Deputies responded to a complaint of a disturbance in progress on Verdun Lane. Upon arrival, deputies observed several subjects in the roadway arguing.  Through further investigation, it was learned that Gibson and Gray were involved in a fistic encounter.  Both parties were released on a summons to appear in court on May 2, 2019.

 

Kendrick Wilson, 40, 107 E. Long St., Baldwin, La, was arrested on February 19, 2019, at 9:35 pm for the following charges:

-        stop signs and yield signs

-        resisting an officer by flight

-        obstruction of justice

-        resisting an officer

-        failure to signal

-        open container

A deputy was patrolling the area of Martin Luther King Blvd. in Baldwin, La when he observed a vehicle commit a traffic violation.  The deputy attempted to perform a traffic stop on the vehicle.  The vehicle fled and a pursuit ensued.  A short time later the vehicle came to a stop. Through the stop, Wilson was identified as the driver of the vehicle. Wilson was placed under arrest and transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking.  Bond was set at $5,000.

 

 

NARCOTICS SECTION

Jathan Cowart, 35, 3187 Highway 87, Franklin, LA, was arrested on February 19, 2019, at 2:30 pm am on a warrant charging him with possession with intent to distribute schedule III and drug paraphernalia.

Cowart was located at the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center and arrested on the above listed charges.
