Arrest Report- March 8, 2019

St. Mary Parish Sheriff Blaise Smith advises that over the last 24-hour reporting period, the Sheriff’s Office responded to 19 complaints and reports the following arrests:

 

Malcolm Jamal Riney, 28, 305 Pelican St., Franklin, LA., was arrested on March 7, 2019, at 3:19 pm on a warrant for failure to appear on the charges of operating a vehicle while license is suspended/revoked/canceled, improper lane usage.

Riney was located at the St. Mary Law Enforcement Center on the above-mentioned warrants and booked. Bond was set at $1,250.

 

Louis J. Charles, 54, 133 ½ Baptiste #1, Baldwin, LA., was arrested March 8, 2019, at 5:06 am on a warrant for driving under suspension and no tail lights.

A deputy patrolling the Baldwin area noticed a vehicle in front of him have that had a broken tail light. The deputy then made a traffic stop and identified the driver as Charles. A background check on Charles revealed he had an outstanding warrant on the above mention charge. Charles was issued a summons to appear in court on June 19, 2019.

 

NARCOTICS SECTION

John May Paul Jr., 29, 102 Janet Lane, Amelia, LA., was arrested March 7, 2019, at 7:21 pm on a warrant for distribution/manufacture or possession with the intent of Sch. II CDS (Methamphetamine), distribution/manufacture or possession with the intent of Sch. I CDS (Marijuana), Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, and Violation of CDS law in a drug-free zone (Church).

Deputies observed Paul going into a business in Morgan City when he was made aware of the active warrant. Paul was arrested and transported to the St. Mary Law Enforcement Center for booking. No bond has been set.
