Arrest Report- March 19, 2019

St. Mary Parish Sheriff Blaise Smith advises that over the last 24-hour reporting period, the Sheriff’s Office responded to 32 complaints and reports the following arrests:

 

Amanda Benoit Romero, 27, 110 Joseph St., Baldwin, La., was arrested on March 18, 2019, at 11:27 am on a warrant for unauthorized use of a motor vehicle.

Romero turned herself into the St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s Office on the above-mentioned warrant. Romero was transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking. Bond was set at $2,000.

 

Quincy D. Sereal, 42, 1803 Martin Luther King Blvd, Jeanerette, La., was arrested on March 18, 2019, at 2:06 pm for possession of marijuana, obstruction of justice, resisting arrest or officer, switched license plate/stolen license plate.

Deputies were dispatched to Highway 90 Frontage Rd. in Jeanerette, La, in reference to a stranded motorist. Upon arrival, they observed a vehicle parked partially on the shoulder of the road unoccupied. Deputies located the driver, identified as Sereal. Sereal told deputies he had run out of gas. When deputies began questioning Sereal, he fled on foot and was apprehended shortly after. Deputies observed an object being thrown by Sereal during the foot pursuit, later identified as a lid with a small amount of marijuana. Sereal was transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking. Bond was set at $4,000.

 

Anthony Joseph Beard, 42, 1502 Cross Rd. #2, Bayou Vista, La., was arrested on March 18, 2019, at 2:59 pm for criminal damage to property, disturbing the peace intoxicated, and battery on a police officer.

A deputy was dispatched to 1502 Cross Rd. #2 in Bayou Vista, La, in reference to a complaint of damage to property. Upon arrival, deputies spoke to the complainant at the residence. It was learned that the suspect, identified as Beard, had damaged a truck belonging to the complainant. When deputies spoke to Beard, they could smell a strong odor of alcohol on his breath and he became uncooperative. When placing Beard under arrest, he spat in a deputy’s face. Beard was transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking. Bond was set at $3,500.

 

Jacolbi Jaron Francois, 21, 617 Barrow St., Morgan City, La., was arrested on March 18, 2019, at 3:55 pm on warrants for failure to notify law enforcement of change of address and probation violation.

Francois was located at the Lafayette Parish Jail and transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking on the above-mentioned warrants. No bond has been set.

 

Kirnesha L. Navy, 27, 401 ½ Ira St., Jeanerette, La., was arrested on March 18, 2019, at 4:00 pm on a warrant for failure to appear for arraignment.

Navy was located at the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center on the above-mentioned warrant. Navy was issued a summons to appear in court on June 19, 2019.

 

Tammy Lynn Sheriden, 54, 2040 Susan Dr., Stephensville, La., was arrested on March 18, 2019, at 7:12 pm for possession of marijuana.

Deputies were dispatched to the Ricohoc area in reference to a disturbance. Deputies spoke to the complainant who stated he wanted a subject, identified as Sheriden, removed from his residence. During a search of Sheriden’s person, a small bag of marijuana was located. Sheridan was issued a summons to appear in court on June 19, 2019.

 

Ricky Devon Hamilton, 31, 118 Caleb Ln., Verdunville, La., was arrested on March 18, 2019, at 11:06 pm on warrants for failure to appear for operating a vehicle with a suspended/revoked/canceled license and speeding 90/70. Hamilton also had warrants from Franklin Police Department for failure to appear for driving under suspension and speeding.

A deputy was dispatched to the area of Charenton Beach Road in Charenton, La, in reference to a vehicle that crashed into the water. Upon arrival, Hamilton was a passenger in the vehicle.  A background check revealed the above-mentioned warrants. Hamilton was transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking. Bond has been set at $1,943.50.

 

NARCOTICS SECTION

Traochi Jardin Gibson, 29, 2155 La 83, Ashton, La., was arrested on March 18, 2019, at 3:22 pm for possession of heroin, violation of CDS in a drug-free zone, resisting an officer, and obstruction of justice.

Detectives with the Narcotics Section were patrolling Highway 83 in Ashton, La when they observed a narcotics transaction.  Detectives made contact with Gibson, who then fled.  After a brief struggle, detectives were able to apprehend Gibson.  A small amount of heroin was located on Gibson’s person, which was within 2,000 feet of a church.  Gibson was transported to the St. Mary Law Enforcement Center for booking. Bond was set at $15,500.
