Arrest Report, March 27, 2019

St. Mary Parish Sheriff Blaise Smith advises that over the last 24-hour reporting period, the Sheriff’s Office responded to 24 complaints and reports the following arrests:

 

John Quentin Lyons, 53, 236 Fandall Rd., Gibson, La., was arrested on March 26, 2019, at 2:27 pm on warrants for failure to appear for arraignment for operating a vehicle while license was suspended, failure to obey traffic control signal and possession of methamphetamine.  Failure to appear for trial for possession of methamphetamine, possession of drug paraphernalia, improper lane usage, simple criminal damage to property, and unauthorized use of a movable.

Lyons was located at the St. Mary Parish Courthouse.  Lyons was transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking. Bond has been set at $8,100.

 

Colby E. Harry, 34, 419 Brocato Lane, Raceland, La., was arrested on March 26, 2019, at 11:46 pm for driving under suspension.

A deputy was stationary on Highway 90 in Ricohoc when he observed a vehicle without a passenger headlight. The deputy conducted a traffic stop and identified the driver of the vehicle as Harry. A background check revealed Harry was driving with a suspended license. Harry was issued a summons to appear in court on June 19, 2019.

 

Derrick Genzal Rankins, 21, 281 Grandwood St., Patterson, La., was arrested on March 27, 2019, at 1:30 am for no license plate light, possession of marijuana, and obstruction of justice.

A deputy was patrolling the area of Highway 182 in Berwick, La., when he observed a vehicle without a license plate light. The deputy conducted a traffic stop and made contact with the driver identified as Rankins. The deputy could smell a strong odor of suspected marijuana emitting from the vehicle. Upon conducting a search, suspected marijuana was found inside the vehicle. After questioning Rankins, he admitted that he ingested marijuana before being pulled over. Rankins was transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking. Bond has been set at $2,250.

 

Rena Kathleen Wilson, 40, 153 Nini Ln., Morgan City, La., was arrested on March 27, 2019, at 2:27 am on a warrant for failure to appear for drug paraphernalia.

Wilson was located at her residence and advised of the above mentioned warrant. Wilson was transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking. No bond has been set.

 

NARCOTICS SECTION

 

Kamiah Kayron Riley, 18, 1517 Hickory St., Patterson, La., was arrested on March 26, 2019, at 5:19 pm for possession of marijuana (under 14 grams), possession of a legend drug (Promethazine Hydrochloride), and possession of a CDS in the presence of a minor.

 

Joseph Anthony Singleton Jr., 19, 912 Jason St., Patterson, La., was arrested on March 26, 2019, at 5:19 pm for possession of marijuana (under 14 grams), possession of a legend drug (promethazine hydrochloride), and possession of a CDS in the presence of a minor.

 

Male Juvenile, 16, was arrested on March 26, 2019, at 5:19 pm for possession of schedule I drug (marijuana), and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Narcotics detectives were traveling West on Highway 182 in Berwick, La, when they observed a vehicle cross over the yellow line. Detectives conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle and they observed the male juvenile shoving something in his shoe. Detectives smelled a strong odor of marijuana emitting from the vehicle. Detectives received consent to search the vehicle from the driver, identified as Singleton. During the search, marijuana, promethazine hydrochloride, a vape with burnt marijuana and drug paraphernalia were found. Riley and Singleton were issued a summons to appear in court on June 19, 2019. The male juvenile was released to his mother pending juvenile court action.
