Arrest Report, March 28, 2019

St. Mary Parish Sheriff Blaise Smith advises that over the last 24-hour reporting period, the Sheriff’s Office responded to 29 complaints and reports the following arrests:

 

David Joseph Elliot, Jr., 42, 203 Franklin St., Morgan City, La., was arrested on March 27, 2019, at 8:23 am for traffic control signals and driving under suspension.

Deputies observed a vehicle run a red light US 90 in the Bayou Vista, La. area. A traffic stop was conducted and the driver was identified as Elliot. A background check revealed Elliot was driving with a suspended driver’s license. Elliot was issued a summons to appear in court on June 19, 2019.

 

Toby J. Clement, 48, 106 Grout St., Patterson, La., was arrested on March 27, 2019, at 10:09 am for turning movements and required signals, careless operation, and no insurance.

A deputy was patrolling the area of David Rd. and Middle Rd. in Bayou Vista, La., when he observed a vehicle turn without signaling. A traffic stop was conducted and the driver was identified as Clement. Clement did not have proof of insurance when asked to provide proper paperwork. Clement was issued a summons to appear in court on June 19, 2019.

 

Randy Pitre, 62, 3904 Opelousas Rd., Ville Platte, La., was arrested on March 27, 2019, at 2:21 pm on a warrant for failure to register as a sex offender.

Deputies located Pitre at a church in Franklin, La., and informed him of the warrant. Pitre was transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking. No bond has been set.

 

Warren Harris, Jr., 36, 887 Borderlan St., Marksville, La, was arrested on March 27, 2019, at 4:41 pm on warrants for failure to register as a sex offender, failure to change address on sex offender identification, and failure to register and notify as a sex offender or child predator, failure to obtain special identification card (sex offender).

Harris was located at the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center and booked on the above mentioned warrants. He was released on his own recognizance and given a court date to appear on August 2, 2019.

 

Shaqunia Marie Harris, 24, 214 Arizona Alley #4, Morgan City, La., was arrested on March 28, 2019, at 4:58 am for possession of drug paraphernalia and warrants from the Morgan City Police Department for failure to appear for disturbing the peace by fighting (x2), possession of marijuana, contempt of court (x2), disturbing the peace by language.

While assisting Berwick Police Department on a traffic stop, a deputy observed a vehicle failing to yield to an emergency vehicle. A traffic stop was conducted and the deputy identified the driver as Harris. She appeared nervous while speaking to the deputy. The deputy asked for consent to search the vehicle, which Harris denied. K9 Vickie was deployed to conduct an open-air sniff. K9 Vickie was alerted to the presence of drugs in the vehicle. During the search of the vehicle, a glass pipe was located. Harris admitted to the pipe being hers. A background check revealed the above mentioned warrants from Morgan City Police Department. Harris was transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking. Bond was set at $4,172.50.
