Arrest Report, April 8, 2019

St. Mary Parish Sheriff Blaise Smith advises that over the last 72-hour reporting period, the Sheriff’s Office responded to 110 complaints and reports the following arrests:

 

Heather Babineaux Guillory, 39, 203 Aristole Rd., Bayou L’Ourse, La., was arrested on April 5, 2019, at 9:30 am on a warrant for failure to appear.

 

Guillory turned herself in at the St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s Office on the above-mentioned warrant. Guillory was transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking. Bond was set at $3,000.

 

Male Juvenile, 16, was arrested on April 5, 2019, at 6:13 pm for domestic abuse battery and simple battery of the infirm.

 

A deputy was dispatched to a residence in reference to a domestic abuse battery. Upon arrival, the deputy spoke to the complainant and witnesses about the incident. After further investigation, the male juvenile was arrested on the above-mentioned charges. No further details are available at this time.

 

Paige Marie Henry, 28, 7621 Hwy. 182, Franklin, La., was arrested on April 5, 2019, at 7:34 pm on a warrant for failure to appear.

 

Henry was located at the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center. She was booked on the above-mentioned warrant. No bond has been set.

 

Joshua Joseph Pojar, 37, 1621 Federal Ave., Morgan City, La., was arrested on April 5, 2019, at 1:15 am on a warrant from Morgan City Police Department for failure to appear for disturbing the peace intoxicated (1st offense).

 

A deputy conducted a traffic stop and made contact with the driver identified as Pojar. A background check on Pojar revealed he had a warrant for his arrest. Pojar was transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking. No bond has been set.

 

Huey Allen Hopkins, II, 36, 101 Yellow Bayou Road, Centerville, La., was arrested on April 6, 2019, at 1:50 pm on a warrant for criminal trespass.

 

A deputy located Hopkins at his residence. He was transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking on the above-mentioned warrant. Bond was set at $1,000.

 

Lavontre Jerome Johnson, 20, 3522 Highway 182 #35, Berwick, La., was arrested on April 6, 2019, at 10:52 pm for no license plate light, driver must be licensed, and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

 

A deputy was patrolling the area of Highway 182 in Berwick, La., when he observed a vehicle traveling with no operable license plate light. The deputy conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle and made contact with the driver identified as Johnson. When the deputy asked for his driver’s license, he stated he didn’t have one. The deputy noticed Johnson to be nervous. While being questioned about any illegal narcotics being inside the vehicle, the deputy could smell a strong odor of marijuana emitting from the vehicle. The deputy conducted a search of the vehicle and located a handgun. Johnson was transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking. Bond was set at $11,000.

 

Drouis John Fanguy, Jr., 59, 1213 South Rd., Bayou Vista, La., was arrested on April 6, 2019, at 11:10 pm for criminal trespass.

 

A deputy was dispatched to a disturbance at 1217 South Rd. in Bayou Vista, La. Upon arrival, the deputy made contact with the complainant who advised that Fanguy came to her residence causing a disturbance. The deputy spoke with Fanguy who admitted to trespassing on her property. Fanguy was issued a summons to appear in court on July 29, 2019.

 

Male Juvenile, 17, was arrested on April 7, 2019, at 2:44 am for reckless operation, driver must be licensed, open container, and expired license plate.

 

Rigoberto De Frainez,18, 1046 Henderson Highway, Henderson, La., was arrested April 7, 2019, at 3:46 am for open container.

 

Deputies were advised of a vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed in the area of Highway 90 Westbound in Bayou Vista, La. When deputies located the vehicle, they observed the vehicle lose control and swerve from the left lane to the right shoulder then back across the left lane. Deputies conducted a traffic stop and made contact with the driver, identified as the male juvenile, and a passenger inside the vehicle, identified as De Frainez. The male juvenile was not able to provide a driver’s license. Several open alcoholic bottles were found inside the vehicle. Deputies also notice the license plate on the vehicle was expired. De Frainez was issued a summons to appear in court on July 29, 2019. The male juvenile was released to a guardian pending juvenile court action.

 

Joseph Herbert Gilchrist, Jr., 26, 104 Live Oak St., Baldwin, La., was arrested on April 7, 2019, at 7:22 am for stop signs and yield signs, turning movements and required signals, general speed law, expired driver’s license, failure to change address within’ 10 days, obstruction of driver’s view, no record of insurance, possession of drug paraphernalia, and a warrant from the Morgan City Police Department for failure to appear for theft by shoplifting.

 

A deputy patrolling the Charenton area observed a vehicle speeding. The deputy noticed the vehicle fail to stop at a stop sign and fail to turn signals. The deputy with the help of other deputies conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle and made contact with the driver identified as Gilchrist. Through investigation, it was learned that Gilchrist was living somewhere other than what was on his driver’s license. Deputies searched the vehicle and found a glass pipe inside. Deputies were unable to find proof of insurance in the vehicle. A background check on Gilchrist revealed the above-mentioned warrant. Gilchrist was transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking. Bond has been set at $1,000.

 

Louis Gerard Green, 27, 130 Sager Brown Rd., Baldwin, La., was arrested on April 7, 2019, at 10:33 pm for driving on roadway laned for traffic, aggravated flight from an officer, resisting a police officer with force or violence (x2), possession of marijuana with the intent to distribute, possession of drug paraphernalia, simple-criminal damage to property, criminal trespass.

 

A deputy was patrolling the area of Highway 182 near Martin Luther King Blvd. in Baldwin, La., when he observed a vehicle swerving in and out of the lane of travel. The deputy followed the vehicle as it turned onto Ralph Darden Memorial Parkway. He observed the vehicle swerving in and out of the lane of travel. The deputy conducted a traffic stop and made contact with the driver identified as Green. Other deputies arrived on the scene to assist. Deputies noticed Green did not put the car in park. While deputies were speaking with Green, about vehicle not being in park he appeared to be nervous. When deputies asked Green to step out of the vehicle, Green sped off at a high-rate of speed. Deputies gave chase to the vehicle and observed the vehicle travel in speeds of excess 100 mph. Deputies then observed the vehicle come to a stop at a residence. Green began to flee to the residence. A brief foot pursuit ensued and a short time later Green was located in a ditch. K-9 Vickie was deployed to do an open-air sniff on the vehicle. K-9 Vickie was alerted to the presence of drugs in the vehicle. During the search of the vehicle, marijuana and drug paraphernalia were located. Green was transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking. Bond was set at $45,000.

 

 

 

 

NARCOTICS SECTION

 

Russell Thomas, 37, 1208 Carmen St. Apt. #3, Patterson, La., was arrested on April 5, 2019, at 4:41 pm on a warrant for possession of schedule II CDS (PCP) with the intent to distribute.

Detectives located Thomas at the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center already incarcerated on other charges. Bond has been set at $10,000.
