Arrest Report, April 12, 2019

St. Mary Parish Sheriff Blaise Smith advises that over the last 24-hour reporting period, the Sheriff’s Office responded to 31 complaints and reports the following arrests:

 

Quinton Devon Lewis, 31, 823 Church St., Jeanerette, La., was arrested on April 11, 2019, at 3:28 pm on a warrant for failure to appear for unlawful use of ID to gain access to a gaming establishment.

 

Lewis was transported from the Iberia Parish Sheriff's Office to the St. Mary Parish Sheriff's Office on the above-mentioned warrant. Lewis was transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking. No bond has been set.

 

Brad Filex Ackman, 39, 507 Roderick St., Morgan City, La., was arrested on April 11, 2019, at 5:52 pm for simple battery.

 

Dana Lynn McGraw, 43, 1255 Columbus Ave., Bayou Vista, La., was arrested on April 11, 2019, at 6:02 pm for simple battery.

 

Deputies were dispatched to Columbus Ave. in Bayou Vista, La., in reference to a simple battery. Upon arrival, deputies spoke to McGraw and Ackman. Through the investigation, deputies learned that McGraw and Ackman had been in an altercation. McGraw and Ackman were transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking. Bond has been set on McGraw and Ackman at $2,500.

 

Todd Wayne Romero, 44, Bethia St., Franklin, La., was arrested on April 11, 2019, at 11:41 pm for no tail lights, no vehicle registration, no record of insurance, driving under suspension, resisting an officer by giving false information, and a warrant from Iberia Parish for failure to appear.

 

A deputy patrolling the Baldwin, La. area observed a vehicle traveling westbound on Highway 182 approaching Ralph Darden Memorial Parkway with only one operational brake light and no visible license plate light. The deputy conducted a traffic stop and made contact with the driver who stated he did not have his driver's license on him. Through further investigation, Romero gave false information as to his identity. A background check on Romero revealed his driver's license had been suspended and he had an active warrant for his arrest. No proof of insurance and no registration were provided on the vehicle. Romero was transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking. Bond has been set at $4,250.

 

Bobby Roy Lockett, 56, 104 Jolivette St., Baldwin, La., was arrested on April 12, 2019, at 1:21 am for failure to use a turn signal and driving under suspension.

 

A deputy was patrolling the Baldwin, La. area near East Saint John Street when he observed a vehicle traveling south approach the intersection of St. John Street and Railroad Avenue. The vehicle failed to use a turn signal. The deputy conducted a traffic stop and made contact with the driver, identified as Lockett. A background check on Lockett revealed he was driving with a suspended driver's license. Lockett was issued a summons to appear in court on July 29, 2019.

 

Caroline Harris, 26, 1229 Onstead St., Morgan City, La., was arrested on April 12, 2019, at 3:32 am for improper lane usage, possession of marijuana, and possession of drug paraphernalia.

 

A deputy was patrolling the area of US 90 East near Highway 318 when he observed a vehicle traveling eastbound in the outside lane drive off the roadway and onto the shoulder, then back onto the roadway. The deputy conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle and made contact with the driver, identified as Harris. While speaking with Harris, the deputy smelled a strong odor of marijuana emitting from the vehicle. Harris admitted to having less than 2 grams of marijuana inside the vehicle. A search of the vehicle revealed a small amount of marijuana and drug paraphernalia. Harris was issued a summons to appear in court for July 29, 2019.
