Arrest Report, April 18, 2019

St. Mary Parish Sheriff Blaise Smith advises that over the last 24-hour reporting period, the Sheriff’s Office responded to 45 complaints and reports the following arrests:

 

Jasmine Thomas, 20, 130 S. Clausen Rd., Franklin, La., was arrested on April 17, 2019, at 3:13 pm, on a warrant for failure to appear for resisting an officer and disturbing the peace by offensive words.

 

Thomas turned herself in at the St. Mary Parish Sheriff's Office in Franklin, La. She was issued a summons to appear in court on July 29, 2019.

 

Victor L. Crane, Jr., 51, 113 Shady Grove Dr., Patterson, La., was arrested on April 17, 2019, at 8:06 pm for driving while intoxicated (1st offense) and open container.

 

A deputy heard a complaint of a reckless driver through dispatch near Carol Rd. in Bayou Vista, La. Dispatch advised the deputy that the vehicle was heading to Patterson, La. on US 90. The deputy conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle on Red Cypress Rd. in Patterson, La. and made contact with the driver, identified as Crane. The deputy could smell a strong odor of alcohol emitting from his breath and noticed his speech was slurred. Crane admitted he consumed alcohol earlier in the day. A field sobriety test was conducted in which Crane performed poorly. He was transported to the Morgan City Police Department for chemical testing.  Crane was later released on a summons to appear in court on July 29, 2019.  

 

James Patrick Voisin, 34, 459 Kyle St., Berwick, La., was arrested on April 17, 2019, at 11:08 pm on a warrant from Morgan City Police Department for failure to appear.

 

While on a traffic stop, a deputy made contact with Voisin. A background check revealed an active-warrant for Voisin’s arrest. He was transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking. No bond has been set.

 

Demarcus Tramaine Skipper, 24, 1605 Hickory St., Patterson, La., was arrested on April 18, 2019, at 12:44 am on a warrants for failure to appear for battery on a dating partner (1st offense), possession of marijuana or synthetic cannabinoids, failure to use seatbelts and failure to honor a written promise.

 

A deputy was refueling in Bayou Vista La., when he observed Skipper walking in the parking lot. The deputy was aware of the active warrants for Skipper's arrest. He was transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking. No bond has been set.

 

Ronald Wayne Polidore, Sr., 35, 111 Pine Ave. #127, Orange, Tx., was arrested on April 18, 2019, at 12:57 am for criminal damage to property, resisting a police officer with force or violence (x2), resisting an officer by flight (x2), battery on a police officer (x6), and disturbing the peace intoxicated.

 

Deputies were dispatched to 125 Fox Lane in the St. Joseph area in Franklin, La., in reference to a disturbance. Upon arrival, the deputies made contact with the complainant who advised them that Polidore had damaged property inside and outside her residence. Deputies then made contact with Polidore who resisted arrest and fled on foot. After a short foot pursuit, Polidore was apprehended. During the arrest, Polidore spat on and made threats towards deputies.  He was transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking. Bond has been set at $19,250.

 

 

NARCOTICS SECTION

 

James M. Bertrand, 58, 100 Baronne St., Baldwin, La., was arrested on April 17, 2019, at 5:40 pm for no tail lamps and possession of marijuana.

 

Narcotics detectives conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle on Gum Point Lane in Franklin, La. due to a right brake light being out. Detectives made contact with the driver, identified as Bertrand. While speaking with him, Bertrand appeared to be nervous. A K9 unit was called to assist and was deployed to conduct an open-air sniff. The K9 was alerted to the presence of drugs in the vehicle. During a search of the vehicle, marijuana was located. Bertrand was issued a summons to appear in court on July 29, 2019.

 

Jamand Johnson, 29, 1006 Iberia St., Franklin, La., was arrested on April 17, 2019, at 5:53 pm for possession of schedule II drugs (marijuana), violation of uniform CDS law in a drug-free zone, and resisting an officer.

 

Narcotics detectives were patrolling the area of Iberia St. in Franklin, La., when they observed a male subject walking on the sidewalk. Detectives could smell a strong odor marijuana and could see the subject smoking. Detectives made contact with the subject identified as Johnson. Marijuana was found on his person. While detaining Johnson, he refused to provide information about his identity. The location of the traffic stop was within 2,000 feet of a church and a school. Johnson was transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking. Bond has been set at $1,500.

 

Kevin J. Diggs, 40, 157 Roy's Ln., Centerville, La., was arrested on April 17, 2019, at 8:23 pm for possession of schedule II drugs (methamphetamine), violation of CDS law in a drug-free zone, and a warrant for battery of a dating partner.

 

Narcotics detectives executed a no-knock search warrant at 157 Roy's Ln. in Centerville, La. During the search of the residence and vehicle, detectives located methamphetamine. The residence is located less than 2,000 feet from a church. Diggs' also had an active warrant for his arrest. He was transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking.  Bond has been set at $4,750.
