St. Mary Parish Sheriff Blaise Smith advises that over the last 72-hour reporting period, the Sheriff’s Office responded to 110 complaints and reports the following arrests:

 

Gerald Tramond Sophus, 29, 1216 Samuel St., Franklin, La., was arrested on April 26, 2019, at 9:28 am on a warrant for failure to appear on the charge of criminal neglect of family.

 

A deputy was patrolling the area of Barrow St. near Lee Charles St. in Franklin, La. when he observed a vehicle fail to use proper turn signals. A traffic stop was conducted on the vehicle and contact was made with the driver, identified as Sophus. A background check revealed the active warrant on Sophus. He was transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking. Bond has been set at $2,865.22.

 

Laikee Thomas, 18, 700 Carl C. Foulcard St., Franklin, La., was arrested on April 26, 2019, at 10:48 am on a warrant for carnal knowledge of a juvenile.

 

Thomas was located at the St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s Office in Franklin, La., on the active warrant. He was transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking. Bond has been set at $4,000.

 

Jonathan Lamon Lancelin, 32, 112 Lancelin St., Baldwin, La., was arrested on April 26, 2019, at 12:55 pm for brake lights required, driver must be licensed, and possession of marijuana.

 

A deputy was traveling west on Irish Bend Road in Franklin, La., when he observed a vehicle with one brake light not functioning. A traffic stop was conducted on the vehicle and contact was made with the driver, identified as Lancelin. Upon speaking with Lancelin, the deputy could smell the odor of marijuana emitting from his breath. Consent was granted by Lancelin to search the vehicle. During the search of the vehicle, a small amount of marijuana was located. A background check revealed Lancelin was driving without a license. He was issued a summons to appear in court on July 29, 2019.

 

Wilbert Sereal Harrison, 34, 413 Sixth St., Morgan City, La., was arrested on April 26, 2019, at 7:24 pm for domestic abuse battery by strangulation (x2).

 

A deputy was dispatched to the Berwick Police Department in reference to a domestic disturbance. Upon arrival, the deputy spoke to the complainant who stated she had been hit and choked by Harrison earlier that day in Morgan City. When Harrison was questioned about the incident, he admitted to choking the complainant. Harrison was transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking. No bond has been set.

 

Bobby Roy Lockett, 56, 104 Jolivette St., Baldwin, La., was arrested on April 27, 2019, at 12:56 am for driving under suspension.

 

A deputy was dispatched to 2411 Irish Bend Rd. in Franklin, La. in reference to a suspicious vehicle. Upon arrival, the deputy located the vehicle and made contact with the driver, identified as Lockett. A background check on Lockett revealed he had a suspended driver's license. He was issued a summons to appear in court on July 29, 2019.

 

Bryan Paul Scully, Sr., 56, 4217 Pecan St., Morgan City, La., was arrested on April 27, 2019, at 12:04 pm on a warrant from Morgan City Police Department for principal to hit & run.

 

Deputies observed a vehicle fail to come to a complete stop at a stop sign on the corner of Lake Palourde Rd. and Friendship Alley in Amelia, La. A traffic stop was conducted on the vehicle and contact was made with the driver, identified as Scully. A background check on Scully revealed the active warrant. He was transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking. No bond has been set.

 

Harvey Morgan, 38, 806 Duke St., Morgan City, La., was arrested on April 27, 2019, at 9:01 pm for no license plate light and a warrant for failure to appear on the charge of theft of goods under $500.

 

A deputy was patrolling the area of Southeast Blvd. in Bayou Vista, La. when he observed a vehicle with a no license plate light. A traffic stop was conducted on the vehicle and contact was made with the driver, identified as Morgan. A background check on Morgan revealed the active warrant. He was transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking. Bond has been set $750.

 

Jorge Correa-Morales, 63, Bayou L'Ourse, La., was arrested on April 28, 2019, for resisting an officer, flight from an officer, and no driver's license.

 

A deputy was dispatched to Highway 90 west in reference to a reckless driver.  Deputies attempted to conduct a traffic stop but the vehicle initially did not stop.  After several minutes, the vehicle pulled over.  Deputies made contact with the driver, identified as Correa-Morales.  Correa-Morales resisted deputies and refused to get out of the vehicle.  It was learned that Correa-Morales did not possess a valid driver’s license.  Correa-Morales was transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking.  Bond was set at $4,000.

 

Ronald Joseph Grow, 46, 315 Iowa St., Morgan City, La., was arrested on April 28, 2019, at 1:37 am on warrants from the Morgan City Police Department for failure to appear (x2).

 

Grow was located on Canal St. in Bayou Vista, La. on the active warrants. He was transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking.  Bond has been set at $706.50.

 

Bethany Nicole Mecom, 26, 325 Tiffany St., Patterson, La., was arrested on April 28, 2019, at 2:41 pm on a warrant for failure to appear on the charges of operating a vehicle while license is suspended/revoked/canceled, operating a vehicle without proof of insurance, and improper lane usage.

 

Mecom was located at the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center on the active warrant. Bond has been set at $5,000.

 

Tyler Paul Ray, 29, 127 Miracle St., Bourg, La., was arrested on April 28, 2019, at 2:48 pm on a warrant for failure to appear on the charges of operating a vehicle while intoxicated (1st offense), possession of alcoholic beverages in a motor vehicle, and speeding.

 

Ray was located at the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center on the active warrant. Bond has been set at $10,000.

 

Yvishia Sherrell Levine, 28, 420 Railroad Ave., Lot #4, Patterson, La., was arrested on April 28, 2019, at 7:45 pm on warrants for failure to appear on the charges of attempted simple escape, possession of marijuana (14 grams or less), theft of less than $1,000, and battery on a police officer and failure to appear for contempt hearing for criminal neglect of family.

 

Levine was located at the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center on the active warrants. No bond has been set.

 

Latasha Marie Callery, 37, 1050 Cayce St., Franklin, La., was arrested on April 29, 2019, at 1:24 am for no headlights, expired or no inspection sticker, and driving under suspension.

 

A deputy was stationary in the area of U.S. Hwy. 90 near Hwy. 317 when he observed a vehicle traveling westbound with an inoperable left headlight. A traffic stop was conducted on the vehicle and contact was made with the driver, identified as Callery. The deputy noticed the vehicle did not have a motor vehicle inspection sticker. A background check revealed Callery was driving under suspension. She was issued a summons to appear in court on July 29, 2019.
