Arrest Report, May 8, 2019

St. Mary Parish Sheriff Blaise Smith advises that over the last 24-hour reporting period, the Sheriff’s Office responded to 37 complaints and reports the following arrests:

 

Larry Dean Robertson, Jr., 25, 109 Edward Ln., Jeanerette, La., was arrested on May 7, 2019, at 8:00 am on warrants for failure to appear (x2).

 

Robertson turned himself in at the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center on the active warrants. No bond has been set.

 

Randy J. Darby, 38, 204 Vermont Dr., Carencro, La., was arrested on May 7, 2019, at 5:52 pm on a warrant for failure to appear on the charge of issuing worthless checks less than $500.

 

Darby was located at the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center on the active warrants. Bond has been set at $1,500.

 

Tony Broussard, 22, 2600 Hwy. 182, Patterson, La., was arrested on May 7, 2019, at 7:14 pm on warrants for aggravated battery and possession of drug paraphernalia.

 

Broussard turned himself into the St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s Office in Morgan City on the active warrants. Broussard was transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking.  Bond has been set at $2,500.

 

 

Janet Lavern Melancon, 60, 2328 Wilson Lane, Patterson, La., was arrested on May 7, 2019, at 8:00 pm for possession of schedule IV drugs (Xanax), possession of schedule V drugs (Gabapentin), and possession of drug paraphernalia.

 

A deputy was patrolling the area of Southeast Blvd. in Bayou Vista, La. when he observed a vehicle turn without using a turn signal. A traffic stop was conducted on the vehicle and contact was made with the driver and two passengers inside the vehicle. During the search of the vehicle, the deputy observed one of the passengers, identified as Melancon, attempting to place something in her waistband area. It was learned to be a Xanax pill. The deputy located drug paraphernalia and Gabapentin pills inside the vehicle. Melancon was transported to the St.  Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking. No bond has been set.

     

NARCOTICS SECTION

 

Shirley G. Jones, 52, 1029 E Stephensville Rd., Morgan City, La., was arrested on May 7, 2019, at 7:33 pm for possession of schedule I (marijuana).

 

Leslie G. Taylor, 54, 1029 E Stephensville Rd., Morgan City, La., was arrested on May 7, 2019, at 7:33 pm for possession of schedule I (marijuana).

 

Narcotics Detectives were traveling down Veterans Blvd. in Morgan City, La. when they observed a vehicle turn onto Fig St. without activating a turn signal. A traffic stop was conducted on the vehicle and the detectives made contact with the driver, identified as Taylor, and the passenger, identified as Jones. Consent to search the vehicle was granted and detectives located marijuana. Both Taylor and Jones were issued a summons to appear in court on August 28, 2019.
