Arrest Report, May 14, 2019

St. Mary Parish Sheriff Blaise Smith advises that over the last 24-hour reporting period, the Sheriff’s Office responded to 33 complaints and reports the following arrests:

 

Blake Jacoby Smith, 28, 1506 Cherry St., Patterson, La., was arrested on May 13, 2019, at 2:53 pm on warrants for failure to appear (x3).

 

Smith was located at the St. Mary Parish Courthouse on the active warrants. He was transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking. No bond has been set.

 

Kellis Lynette Carter, 20, 629 Guiberteau St., Jeanerette, La., was arrested on May 13, 2019, at 5:09 pm for speeding 20 to 25 mph.

 

A deputy was traveling west on Hwy 182 in Sorrell, La. when he observed a vehicle traveling east at a high rate of speed. A traffic stop was conducted on the vehicle and contact was made with the driver, identified as Carter. Carter was issued a summons to appear in court on August 28, 2019.

 

Jaden Gregory, 18, 410 Catherine St., #8, Patterson, La., was arrested on May 13, 2019, at 8:04 pm for battery of a dating partner.

 

Deputies were dispatched to 500 Lake Palourde Rd. in Amelia, La. in reference to a possible stolen vehicle. Upon arrival, deputies spoke with Gregory and several witnesses. After further investigation, it was learned Gregory was involved in an altercation with a person he was dating. Gregory was transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking. Bond has been set at $2,500.

 

Kalep Michael Thomas, 26, 224 Martin Luther King Rd., Charenton, La., was arrested on May 13, 2019, at 8:23 pm for simple assault and disturbing the peace by language.

 

Deputies were dispatched to 224 Martin Luther King Rd. in Charenton, La. in reference to a disturbance. Upon arrival, deputies spoke with the complainant. After further investigation, it was learned that Thomas became irate yelling and using profanity. Thomas also made threats to burn down a residence. Thomas was transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking. Bond has been set at $1,500.

 

Shalonda S. Smith, 34, 134 Martin Luther King Ave., #9, Patterson, La., was arrested on May 13, 2019, at 11:55 pm for no license plate light and driving under suspension.

 

A deputy was stationary in the area of Hwy. 90 westbound near Hwy 182 junction when he observed a vehicle without any license plate lights. A traffic stop was conducted on the vehicle and contact was made with the driver, identified as Smith. A background check on Smith revealed she was driving under suspension. Smith was issued a summons to appear in court on August 28, 2019.
