St. Mary Parish Sheriff Blaise Smith advises that over the last 24-hour reporting period, the Sheriff’s Office responded to 42 complaints and reports the following arrests:

 

Ingrid Shantaziea Jack, 28, 229 Pickett Ln., Franklin, La., was arrested on May 23, 2019, at 10:01 am on a warrant for failure to appear for a hearing on the charges of operating a vehicle without a license, failure to maintain auto insurance, failure to report an accident and/or provide proper ID.

 

Jack was located at the St. Mary Parish Courthouse on the active warrant. She was transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking. Bond has been set at $253.

 

Johnathan Ray Sanders, Sr., 38, 204 South Penn Rd., Baldwin, La., was arrested on May 23, 2019, at 10:14 am on a warrant for failure to appear on the charges of disturbing the peace by language and simple escape.

 

Sanders was located in Ashton, La. on the active warrant. He was transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking. Bond has been set at $1,500.

 

Kimaya Marie Joseph, 25, 416 Morris St., Franklin, La., was arrested on May 23, 2019, at 11:07 am on a warrant from Lafayette Parish for failure to appear on the charge of possession of marijuana and possession of schedule IV drugs.

 

Joseph was located at the St. Mary Parish Courthouse on the active warrant. She was transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking. No bond has been set.

 

Sherrica Lynn Theriot, 38, 115 Curtis St., Pierre Part, La., was arrested on May 23, 2019, at 2:24 pm on a warrant for failure to appear for traffic arraignment.

 

Theriot was located at the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center. Bond has been set at $350.

 

Nathan Thomas III, 42, 610 Eleventh St., Franklin, La., was arrested on May 23, 2019, at 3:50 pm on a warrant for failure to appear for a hearing for criminal neglect of family.

 

Thomas was located at 610 Eleventh St. in Franklin, La. on the active warrant. Thomas was transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking. Bond has been set at $9,151.

 

Curstone Paul Alfred, 43, 298 Eves St., Jeanerette, La., was arrested on May 23, 2019, at 6:28 pm on a warrant for first-degree rape and theft and a warrant for failure to appear on the charge of illegal possession of stolen things less than $1,000.

 

Alfred turned himself in at the St. Mary Parish Sheriff's Office on the active warrants. He was transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking. No bond has been set. 

 

NARCOTICS SECTION

 

Travis Morin, 36, Main St., Patterson, La., was arrested on May 23, 2019, at 11:09 pm for improper lane usage, following too close, possession of schedule IV drugs (Xanax) with the intent to distribute, transactions involving drug proceeds, possession of schedule II drugs (methamphetamine), and possession of drug paraphernalia.

 

A deputy was patrolling Hwy. 182 in the Berwick, La. area when he observed a vehicle following too close and crossing over the fog line several times. A traffic stop was conducted on the vehicle and contact was made with the driver, identified as Morin. While speaking with Morin, he appeared to be nervous. The deputy asked Morin for consent to search the vehicle at which he denied. K9 Vickie was deployed to conduct an open-air sniff. K9 Vickie was alerted to the presence of drugs in the vehicle. During the search of the vehicle, Xanax pills, methamphetamine, drug paraphernalia, and $17,000 in cash were located. Morin was transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking. No bond has been set.
