St. Mary Parish Sheriff Blaise Smith advises that over the last 24-hour reporting period, the Sheriff’s Office responded to 37 complaints and reports the following arrests:

 

Teddy Max Thomas, 69, 1216 Hanson St., Franklin, La., was arrested on May 28, 2019, at 9:47 am for driving under suspension.

 

A deputy was traveling on Hwy 182 in Baldwin, La. when he drove up on a two-vehicle accident on Hwy 182 and Hebert Ln. The deputy made contact with drivers of both the vehicles. A background check on Thomas revealed he was driving under suspension. He was issued a summons to appear in court on August 28, 2019.

 

Alex Scott III, 40, 7601 Tricia Ct., New Orleans, La., was arrested on May 29, 2019, at 1:50 am for illegal possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

 

A deputy was patrolling the area of Hwy 90 in Bayou Vista, La. when he observed a vehicle being operated without a working driver’s side taillight. A traffic stop was conducted on the vehicle and contact was made with the driver and the passenger, identified as Scott. With the assistance of the Berwick Police Department, a handgun was located inside of the vehicle. A background check on Scott revealed he was a convicted felon. He was transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking. No bond has been set.
