Arrest Report, June 3, 2019

St. Mary Parish Sheriff Blaise Smith advises that over the last 72-hour reporting period, the Sheriff’s Office responded to 122 complaints and reports the following arrests:

 

Elizabeth Marie Toups, 35, 313 Chitimacha Loop Rd., Charenton, La., was arrested on May 31, 2019, at 10:53 pm for license plate lights required, driving under suspension, and a warrant for failure to appear on the charges of operating a vehicle with a suspended driver's license and operating a vehicle without proper equipment.

 

A deputy was patrolling the area of Hwy. 182 near Penn Rd. North in Jeanerette, La. when he observed a vehicle being operated without any license plate lights. A traffic stop was conducted on the vehicle and contact was made with the driver, identified as Toups. A background check on Toups revealed her license was suspended and the active warrant. Toups was transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking. No bond has been set.

 

Kevin Charles, 18, 610 Pellerin St., Jeanerette, La., was arrested on June 1, 2019, at 1:36 am for reckless operation with no accident.

 

Deputies were patrolling the area of Hwy. 182 near the Baldwin Bridge when they observed a vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed. A traffic stop was conducted on the vehicle and contact was made with the driver, identified as Charles. He was issued a summons to appear in court on September 26, 2019.

 

Cory Lee Bashay, 31, 323 Deare St., New Iberia, La., was arrested on June 1, 2019, at 12:19 pm for driving on right side of the road, possession of marijuana, and possession of drug paraphernalia.

 

A deputy was patrolling Hwy. 90 in Morgan City, La. when he observed a vehicle traveling east in the left lane and not pass anyone while traveling in the left lane. A traffic stop was conducted on the vehicle and contact was made with the driver, identified as Bashay. While speaking with Bashay, a strong odor of marijuana was emitting from the vehicle. Consent was granted from Bashay to search his person. During the search, a small amount of marijuana was located. During the search of the vehicle, a digital scale was located. Bashay was issued a summons to appear in court on September 26, 2019.

 

Sirrice Thomas Johnson, Jr., 46, 102 TJ Hatcherson St., Baldwin, La., was arrested on June 1, 2019, at 8:08 pm on a warrant for failure to appear on the charges of disturbing the peace by offensive words and entry on or remaining in places or on land after being forbidden.

 

A deputy was traveling north on Martin Luther King Blvd. in Baldwin, La. when he observed a subject walking south at the intersection of Railroad Ave. The deputy made contact with the subject, identified as Johnson. A background check on Johnson revealed the active warrant. He was transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking. Bond has been set at $500.

 

Dalton Callender, 23, 427 Saturn Rd., Bayou Vista, La., was arrested on June 2, 2019, at 12:46 am on a warrant for failure to appear on the charges of possession of methamphetamine, possession of marijuana (under 14 grams), and possession of drug paraphernalia (1st offense).

 

A deputy was patrolling the Bayou Vista, La. area when he observed a subject on a bicycle with no lights. The deputy made contact with the subject, identified as Callender. A background check revealed the active warrant on him. Callender was transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking. No bond has been set.

 

Dustin Michael Aucoin, 27, 1002 Main St., Patterson, La., was arrested on June 2, 2019, at 10:40 pm for criminal trespass.

 

A deputy was dispatched to a business in Bayou Vista, La. in reference to a complaint. Upon arrival, the deputy made contact with the complainant. After further investigation, it was learned Aucoin had been told to leave the business and not return several times over the last few days. Aucoin was transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking. No bond has been set.

 

Dontrinique Marks, 24, 1311 Cypermort Rd., Jeanerette, La., was arrested on June 2, 2019, at 11:35 pm for no license plate light, switched license plate/stolen license plate and driving under suspension.

 

A deputy was patrolling the area of Hwy. 182 near Lockley St. in Baldwin, La. when he observed a vehicle being operated without any license plate lights. A traffic stop was conducted on the vehicle and contact was made with the driver, identified as Marks. A background check on Marks revealed he was driving under suspension. It was also learned that the vehicle had switched license plates. Marks was issued a summons to appear in court on September 26, 2019.

 

Bradford Garrard Jones, Sr., 41, 500 Lakeview Dr. #512, Natchitoches, La., was arrested on June 3, 2019, at 1:05 am on warrants for failure to appear (x2) on the charges of possession of marijuana (14 grams or less), resisting an officer by providing false information and issuing worthless checks (less than $500).

Jones was located at the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center on the active warrants. No bond has been set.

 

NARCOTICS SECTION

 

Tyrese Mylic Fontenot, 19, 101 3B’s Lane #16, Bayou Vista, La., was arrested on May 31, 2019, at 3:13 pm for possession of marijuana (under 14 grams).

 

Narcotics detectives were investigating a complaint of subjects smoking marijuana at 3B’s Lane in Bayou Vista, La. Upon arrival, detectives made contact with Fontenot. Fontenot appeared to be under the influence of marijuana. Upon the search of his person, marijuana was located. He was issued a summons to appear in court on August 28, 2019.

 

Issiac Holly, Jr., 38, 265 Sanders St., Thibodaux, La., was arrested on June 2, 2019, at 4:06 pm for improper lane usage, possession of marijuana with the intent to distribute, and transactions involving drug proceeds.

 

Deputies were patrolling Hwy. 90 near the Four Corners area when he observed a vehicle cross over the solid white fog line onto the shoulder of the roadway, almost striking the sidewall of the overpass. A traffic stop was conducted on the vehicle and contact was made with the driver, identified as Holly. While speaking with Holly, he appeared to be nervous. The deputy asked for consent to search the vehicle, which he denied. K9 Jace was deployed to conduct an open-air sniff. K9 Jace was alerted to the presence of drugs in the vehicle. During the search of the vehicle, deputies located 13 individually wrapped bags of marijuana. During the search of his person, deputies located $941 in US currency. Holly was transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking. No bond has been set.
