Arrest Report, June 5, 2019

St. Mary Parish Sheriff Blaise Smith advises that over the last 24-hour reporting period, the Sheriff’s Office responded to 40 complaints and reports the following arrests:

 

Nicholas Daniel Wiggins, 29, 2314 Tupelo St., Morgan City, La., was arrested on June 4, 2019, at 10:37 am for expired or no inspection sticker and driving under suspension.

 

A deputy was patrolling the area of Hwy. 182 and Roderick St. in Morgan City, La. when he observed a vehicle traveling eastbound with an expired inspection sticker. A traffic stop was conducted on the vehicle and contact was made with the driver, identified as Wiggins. A background check revealed he was driving under suspension. Wiggins was issued a summons to appear in court on September 26, 2019.

 

Ronald J. Armond, Jr. 25, 248 Murial St., Bayou L’Ourse, La., was arrested on June 4, 2019, at 4:46 pm on warrants for failure to appear (x3) on the charges of possession of methamphetamine and possession of marijuana (14 grams or less), possession of cocaine (less than 2 grams), possession of drug paraphernalia (1st offense), theft less than $1,000 and criminal neglect of family.

 

Armond was located at the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center on the active warrants. Bond has been set at $25,411.59.

 

David Anthony Landry, 46, 212 Terry Paul St., New Iberia, La., was arrested on June 4, 2019, at 5:43 pm for possession of schedule I drugs, possession of schedule III drugs and possession of legend drugs without a prescription.

 

Deputies conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle pulling a boat with no license plate in Franklin, La. and made contact with the driver, identified as Landry. While speaking with Landry, consent to search the vehicle was granted. Upon the search of the vehicle, deputies located Baclofen, Hydrocodone Bitartrate, Methocarbamol and Gabapentin pills. Landry was transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking. No bond has been set.

 

Colby Girard, 42, 104 Rue Le Bois, Lafayette, La., was arrested on June 4, 2019, at 7:59 pm for no headlights, special restrictions on lamps and possession of marijuana.

 

Deputies were traveling east on Hwy. 182 in the Franklin, La. area when they observed a vehicle with no headlights and blue lights on the dash. A traffic stop was conducted on the vehicle and contact was made with the driver, identified as Girard. While speaking with the driver, a strong odor of marijuana was emitting from the vehicle. During the search of the vehicle, marijuana was located.  Girard was issued a summons to appear in court on September 26, 2019.

 

Milan Jerone Sanders, Sr., 28, 1207 South Rd., Bayou Vista, La., was arrested on June 5, 2019, at 1:55 am on a warrant for failure to appear on the charge of possession of marijuana (2nd offense).

 

A deputy conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for failing to use a turn signal 100 ft. prior to turning. The deputy made contact with the driver, identified as Sanders. A background check on Sanders revealed the active warrant. He was transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking. No bond has been set.
