Arrest Report- June 10, 2019

St. Mary Parish Sheriff Blaise Smith advises that over the last 72-hour reporting period, the Sheriff’s Office responded to 110 complaints and reports the following arrests:

 

Joseph Jerome Jessie, 40, 119 B Bernard St., Patterson, La., was arrested on June 7, 2019, at 1:44 pm on a warrant for failure to appear for trial on the charge of possession of drug paraphernalia (1st offense) and failure to stop at a stop sign.

Jessie was located at the St. Mary Parish Courthouse on the active warrant. He was transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking. Bond has been set at $1,500.

 

Charlotte Bracamontes, 31, 122 Rayne Court, Morgan City, La., was arrested on June 7, 2019, at 7:03 pm for battery on a police officer.

A deputy patrolling Bayou Vista made contact with Bracamontes and during the investigation, she kicked the deputy twice. Bracamontes was transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking. No bail has been set.

 

Wayne Lasseigne, 68, 202 Southwest St., Morgan City, La., was arrested on June 7, 2019, at 11:25 pm for turning movements and signals and possession of marijuana.

A deputy patrolling Bayou Vista observed a vehicle make a turn without giving a proper signal. The deputy conducted a traffic stop and made contact with the driver, Lasseigne. When Lasseigne exited the vehicle, two marijuana cigarettes fell from his lap. Lasseigne was arrested and released on a summons to appear on September 26, 2019.

 

Gregory Wesley, 47, 1215 Cypremort Road, Jeanerette, La., was arrested on June 8, 2019, at 10:43 am on the following charges:

-        Assault-Simple

-        Criminal Mischief

-        Disturbing the Peace in a Violent Manner

-        Trespass-Criminal

A deputy patrolling the area of Jeanerette was dispatched to a disturbance in progress. Upon arrival, the deputy made contact with Wesley. During the investigation, the deputy interviewed Wesley and two witnesses, and Wesley was arrested on the above charges. Wesley was transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking. No bail has been set.

 

Warren Alpha, 60, 143 Mill Road, Patterson, La., was arrested on June 8, 2019, at 11:15 am for expired or no inspection sticker, driving under suspension, and no record of insurance.

A deputy patrolling Bayou Vista observed a vehicle traveling with an expired inspection sticker.  The deputy conducted a traffic stop and made contact with the driver, Alpha. During the stop, the deputy learned that Alpha’s license was suspended and he did not have insurance on the vehicle. Alpha was arrested and released on a summons to appear on September 26, 2019.

 

Cole Fruge, 27, 1302 Saturn Road, Bayou Vista, La., was arrested on June 8, 2019, at 2:46 pm for theft-misdemeanor and possession of a legend drug without prescription (gabapentin).  

A deputy patrolling Bayou Vista responded to a local business in reference to a shoplifting complaint.  Upon arrival, the deputy made contact with business personnel who stated that Fruge had items in his possession for which he had not made payment.  During the investigation, drugs were found. Fruge was transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking. No bail has been set.

 

Taylor Paige Cox, 21, 2990 4th St., Berwick, La., was arrested on June 9, 2019, 7:31 pm on a warrant for failure to appear on the charge of possession of marijuana (14 grams or less).

Keyshawn Andre Smith, 24, 134 Martin Luther King Ave., Patterson, La., was arrested on June 9, 2019, at 7:31 pm for possession of marijuana and obstruction of justice.

A deputy was patrolling the area of Southeast Blvd. in Bayou Vista, La. when he observed a vehicle with a license plate cover which was obstructing the registration tag. A traffic stop was conducted on the vehicle and contact was made with the driver and two passengers, identified as Cox and Smith. Consent to search the vehicle was granted by the driver and marijuana was located.  During the investigation, the deputy was advised by dispatch of an active warrant for Cox. Cox was transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking. The bond for Smith was set at $4,500. No bail has been set for Cox.

 

Amanda Rose Boutwell, 33, 224 North Verrett St., Amelia, La., was arrested on June 9, 2019, at 8:24 pm for possession of drug paraphernalia.

A deputy observed a female in the Amelia, La. area riding a bicycle without a functioning rear light. The deputy made contact with the female, identified as Boutwell. During the investigation, drug paraphernalia was found in Boutwell’s possession. Boutwell was issued a summons to appear in court on September 26, 2019.

 

Michael Ray Payton, 31, 450 North Branch St., Franklin, La., was arrested on June 9, 2019, at 1:29 am for speeding 11 to 15 mph, no child restraint, and a warrant for failure to appear from Iberia Parish Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies patrolling the area of Hwy. 182 near Irish Bend Rd. in Franklin, La.  observed a vehicle being driven over the posted speed. A traffic stop was conducted on the vehicle and contact was made with the driver, identified as Payton. Deputies observed two small children inside the vehicle who were not properly restrained. During the stop, the deputies were advised by dispatch of an active warrant for Payton. Payton was transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking. No bail has been set.

 

Sandy J. Guillory, 55, 449 Acadia St., Eunice, La., was arrested on June 9, 2019, 2:56 am for aggravated assault with a firearm.

Deputies were dispatched to Hwy. 90 west in Bayou Vista, La. in reference to a driver of a vehicle pointing a gun at another vehicle. Upon arrival, deputies were able to locate the vehicle and conduct a traffic stop. The driver of the vehicle was identified as Guillory. During the investigation, a .22 caliber revolver was located. Guillory was transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking. No bail has been set.

 

NARCOTICS SECTION

April Pontiff, 39, 3695 Highway 182, Centerville, La., was arrested on June 7, 2019, at 3:40 pm for possession of schedule I (heroin) and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Cassandra Dore, 29, 1291 Prairie Road Circle, Centerville, La., was arrested on June 7, 2019, at 3:40 pm for possession of schedule II (methamphetamine) and improper lane usage.

Caroline Butaud, 25, 153 Choctaw Lane, Charenton, La., was arrested on June 7, 2019, at 3:40 pm for possession of drug paraphernalia.

A narcotics detective was traveling down Hwy 182 in Centerville when he observed a vehicle cross the solid white fog line several times. The detective conducted a traffic stop and made contact with the driver, Dore, and the passengers, Pontiff and Butaud.  Through the investigation, drugs and drug paraphernalia were found. Pontiff and Dore were transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking. Butaud was released on a summons to appear on September 26, 2019.  No bail has been set for Pontiff and Dore.

 

Brylee D. Thibodeaux, 24, 1063 Oleste Tauzin Road, Breaux Bridge, La., was arrested on June 7, 2019, at 7:41 pm on the following charges:

-        Reckless Operation of a Motor Vehicle

-        Possession of Schedule II (Oxycodone)

-        Possession of Schedule II (Adderall)

-        Possession of Schedule IV (Clonazepam)

-        Possession of Firearm in the Presence of a CDS

-        Obstruction of Justice

-        Entering Contraband into a Penal Facility

-        Possession of Drug Paraphernalia

Narcotics detectives were traveling down Hwy 90 in Patterson when they observed two cars driving side by side on the Highway while a motorcycle passed between the cars on the center line at a high rate of speed. When the detectives attempted to conduct a traffic stop, the motorcycle accelerated. The detectives subsequently made a traffic stop and made contact with the driver, Thibodeaux. Through the investigation, a handgun was found. Thibodeaux was transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking.  While conducting a strip search, deputies found a canister with drugs. Thibodeaux was booked on the additional charges and subsequently released on a $10,000 bond.

 

NARCOTICS/K9 SECTION

Eddie D. Johnson, 41, 147 Magill Lane, Gibson, La., was arrested on June 10, 2019, at 2:19 am for possession of schedule I.

A deputy with the K9 Division was patrolling the area of Amelia when he assisted another deputy with a traffic stop. During the stop, K9 Buddy was deployed to conduct an open-air scan. K9 Buddy showed an odor response on the vehicle. During the investigation, drugs were found on Johnson’s person.  Johnson was arrested and released on a summons to appear on September 26, 2019.
