Marine Report- June 20, 2019

St. Mary Parish Sheriff Blaise Smith advises that over the last 7-day reporting period, the Marine Section of the St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s Office responded to the following incident:

Stranded Vessel:  June 15, 3:30 pm, Lake Palourde.

Deputies with the Marine Section were contacted by dispatch in reference to a stranded boater on Lake Palourde.

Deputies made contact with the boater by phone and learned that the boat was having motor problems and was drifting on Lake Palourde.  The boater provided deputies with coordinates to his location.

Deputies launched the SMPSO Marine Patrol Vessel (SM2) and traveled to the location and made contact with the boater and one passenger. The boat was towed back to the Lake End Park boat launch without incident and the deputies helped the boater load the boat onto its trailer.
