Arrest Report- June 21, 2019

St. Mary Parish Sheriff Blaise Smith advises that over the last 24-hour reporting period, the Sheriff’s Office responded to 44 complaints and reports the following arrests:

 

Melissa Katherine Dupre, 29, 173 Anderson Ln., Jeanerette, La., was arrested on June 20, 2019, at 12:58 pm on two warrants for failure to appear on the following charges:

  • Operating a vehicle while license is suspended/revoked/canceled (x2)
  • Improper lane usage
  • Speeding 70/55.

A deputy was patrolling the area of Hwy. 318 in Jeanerette, La. when he observed a vehicle with an expired inspection sticker. The deputy conducted a traffic stop and made contact with the driver, identified as Dupre. The deputy was advised through dispatch that Dupre held active warrants for her arrest. Dupre was transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking. Bail has been set at $4,000.

 

Titanesia McDaniel Clarkston, 37, 1200 Front St. # 7, Morgan City, La., was arrested on June 20, 2019, at 3:41 pm for driving under suspension.

A deputy was dispatched to a local business in Centerville, La. in reference to a possible theft. A short time later, the deputy located the suspect’s vehicle and conducted a traffic stop. The deputy made contact with the driver, identified as Clarkston and was advised through dispatch that she was driving under suspension. Clarkston was arrested and released on a summons to appear in court on September 26, 2019.

 

Vyonca Salazar, 55, 161 Andres St., Morgan City, La., was arrested on June 20, 2019, at 4:15 pm on two warrants for failure to appear on the charge of leash law violation (x2).

A deputy made contact with Salazar while investigating an unrelated complaint. The deputy was advised through dispatch that Salazar held active warrants for her arrest. Salazar was transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking. She was released on a summons to appear in court on September 26, 2019.

 

Dustin James Vaughn, 42, 329 Clark Rd., Morgan City, La., was arrested on June 20, 2019, at 5:46 pm for disturbing the peace by language, battery on a police officer (x2), and resisting a police officer with force or violence (x3).

Deputies were dispatched to a residence in Bayou Vista, La. in reference to a welfare concern. Upon arrival, deputies made contact with Vaughn. While speaking with deputies, Vaughn became irate and began to use foul language towards the deputies. As deputies attempted to take Vaughn into custody, he physically resisted. Vaughn was transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking. Bail has been set at $5,000.

 

Male Juvenile, 16, was arrested on June 21, 2019, at 12:53 am for criminal mischief.

A deputy was patrolling the Baldwin, La. area when he observed a vehicle with no license plate lights. The deputy conducted a traffic stop and made contact with the juvenile driver. The deputy learned through dispatch the juvenile held an active warrant for his arrest. He was arrested and later released on a summons to appear in court on September 26, 2019.

 

Tyron Lamar Charles, 18, 301 Branch St., Baldwin, La., was arrested on June 21, 2019, at 1:00 am for illegal carrying of a weapon.

A deputy conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle operating without any license plate lights in the Baldwin, La. area. During the stop, the deputy learned a rear passenger of the vehicle, identified as Charles, had a gun in his front pocket. Charles was transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking. Bail was set at $1,000.

 

NARCOTICS SECTION

Nathan Rollins, 23, 113 Diane Ln., Patterson, La., was arrested on June 20, 2019, at 4:27 pm on a warrant for the charges of:

  • Resisting an officer
  • Possession of methamphetamine
  • Obstruction of justice
  • Violation of CDS in a drug-free zone

and on the additional charges of:

  • No driver’s license
  • Possession of a firearm or carrying concealed weapon by a felon (x2)
  • Possession of counterfeit CDS with the intent to distribute (38 grams)

 

Chad Ross, 26, 1708 East Garber St., Morgan City, La., was arrested on June 20, 2019, at 4:27 pm for:

  • Possession of counterfeit CDS with the intent to distribute (38 grams)
  • Possession of a firearm in the presence of a CDS
  • Possession of a firearm or carrying concealed weapon by a felon (x2) 
  • Resisting an officer

Narcotics detectives were patrolling the area of Federal Ave. in Morgan City, La. when they observed a vehicle with a cracked windshield. Narcotics detectives conducted a traffic stop and made contact with the driver, Rollins, and a passenger, Ross. During the investigation, detectives located drugs and firearms inside the vehicle. Rollins and Ross were transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking. Bail has been set for Ross at $150,000. No bail has been set for Rollins.
