Arrest Report- July 19, 2019

St. Mary Parish Sheriff Blaise Smith advises that over the last 24-hour reporting period, the Sheriff’s Office responded to 55 complaints and reports the following arrests:

 

Daniel Joseph Aucoin, Jr., 32, 135 Moon Rd., Bayou Vista, La., was arrested on July 18, 2019, at 8:59 am on a warrant for failure to appear on the charge of criminal neglect of family.

A deputy was patrolling the area of Red Cypress Rd. in Patterson when he observed a vehicle with only one operating brake light. The deputy conducted a traffic stop and made contact with the driver and two passengers, one identified as Aucoin. The deputy was advised by dispatch that Aucoin held an active warrant for his arrest. Aucoin was transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking. Bail was set at $9,000.

 

Jody Ray Cubbedge, Jr., 43, 622 Hwy. 182, Morgan City, La., was arrested on July 18, 2019, at 9:46 am for turning movements/required signals and driving under suspension.

Aketa Raquel Francis, 26, 694 Pacific St., Berwick, La., was arrested on July 18, 2019, at 9:46 am on a warrant for failure to appear on the charge of criminal neglect of family.

Deputies were patrolling the area of Arlington Rd. in Bayou Vista when he observed a vehicle fail to use proper turn signals. Deputies conducted a traffic stop and made contact with the driver, identified as Cubbedge, and two passengers, one identified as Francis. During the investigation, deputies learned through dispatch that Cubbedge was driving under suspension and Francis held an active warrant for her arrest. Cubbedge was arrested and released on a summons to appear in court on October 16, 2019. Francis was transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking. Bail has been set at $18,291.

 

Sabrina Marie Scully, 24, 3029 Allison St., Morgan City, La., was arrested on July 18, 2019, at 9:49 am on two warrants for failure to appear on the following charges:

  • Improper lane usage
  • Operating a vehicle without a driver’s license
  • Fail to honor a written promise to appear
  • Criminal neglect of family

Brennan Richard Tabor, 31, 105 Hendrick St., Morgan City, La., was arrested on July 18, 2019, at 9:49 am on two warrants for failure to appear on the charges of

  • Possession of methamphetamine (less than two grams) (x2)
  • Possession of drug paraphernalia (x3)
  • Possession of cocaine with the intent to distribute
  • Possession of lysergic acid diethylamide (less than 2 grams)
  • Operating a vehicle while license is suspended/revoked/canceled
  • Possession of cocaine with the intent to distribute (less than 28 grams)
  • Possession of hydrocodone (less than 2 grams)

Lacey Scully, 25, 607 Egle St., Morgan City, La., was arrested on July 18, 2019, at 9:49 am on a warrant for failure to appear on the charge of possession of marijuana (14 grams or less).

S. Scully, Tabor, and L. Scully were located at 607 Egle St. in Morgan City on the active warrants for their arrest and were transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking. Bail on S. Scully has been set at $365. No bail has been set on Tabor and L. Scully.

 

Markila Abriana Ruffin, 25, 342 Easy St., Franklin, La., was arrested on July 18, 2019, at 10:35 am on (2) warrants for failure to appear on the following charges:

  • Theft (less than $1,000)
  • Bank fraud
  • Theft ($1,000 or more but less than $5,000)
  • Simple battery

A deputy received an anonymous tip of a subject with a warrant on Easy St. in Franklin. Upon arrival, the deputy made contact with Ruffin. Ruffin was transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking. No bail has been set.

 

John Henry Finister V., 26, 10536 Hwy. 182, Franklin, La., was arrested on July 18, 2019, at 10:54 am on a warrant for failure to appear on the charges of possession of methamphetamine with the intent to distribute (less than 28 grams), possession of alprazolam, and illegal use/consumption/possession/distribution of CDS in presence of person under 17.

Finister was located at the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center on the active warrant for his arrest. Bail has been set at $75,000.

 

Brian Lee Jay Weston, 30, 722 David Dr., Patterson, La., was arrested on July 18, 2019, at 12:58 pm on a warrant for failure to appear on the charges of theft ($750 or less) and possession of marijuana.

Weston was located at the St. Mary Parish Courthouse on the active warrant and was transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking. No bail has been set.

 

Courtney Patterson, 22. 212 Southeast Blvd. C, Bayou Vista, La., was arrested on July 18, 2019, at 1:12 pm on a warrant for failure to appear on the charges of operating a vehicle without a driver’s license, operating a vehicle with an expired motor vehicle inspection, and fail to honor a written promise to appear.

 A deputy made contact with Patterson at a residence in Bayou Vista in reference to an active warrant for her arrest. Patterson was transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking. Bail has been set at $335.

 

Female Juvenile, 15, was arrested on July 18, 2019, at 2:46 pm for simple battery.

Deputies were dispatched to the Bayou Vista Skate Park in reference to a disturbance. Upon arrival, the deputies made contact with the juvenile and witnesses. During the investigation, deputies learned that the female juvenile committed a battery. The juvenile was released to a guardian pending juvenile court proceedings.

 

Dustin Blair Lowe, Sr., 33, 2605 East Admiral Doyle, Carencro, La., was arrested on July 19, 2019, at 1:03 am on two warrants for failure to appear on the charges of possession of methamphetamine more than two grams, possession of drug paraphernalia (1st offense), domestic abuse battery (1st offense), and on the following charges:

  • Possession of schedule II drugs (methamphetamine)
  • Driving under suspension
  • Open container
  • Improper lane usage

A deputy with the SMPSO K-9 division was patrolling the area of Hwy. 90 in Siracusaville when he observed a vehicle swerving. The deputy conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle and made contact with the driver, identified as Lowe. The deputy was advised by dispatch that Lowe held active warrants for his arrest and was driving under suspension. During the investigation, drugs were found. Lowe was transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking. No bail has been set.

 

NARCOTICS SECTION

 

Jeremiah J. Smith, 27, 602 Trowbridge St., Franklin, La., was arrested on July 18, 2019, at 7:57 pm on the following charges:

  • Resisting an officer
  • Possession of schedule II drugs with the intent to distribute (Cocaine)
  • Violation of a uniform controlled dangerous substance law in a drug-free zone (church)
  • Transaction involving drug proceeds from drug offenses
  • Obstruction of justice

Narcotics detectives were patrolling the area of Martin Luther King St. in Franklin when they observed a large crowd of subjects loitering in the parking lot of an abandoned bank. Upon exiting their vehicle, detectives observed Smith walking away from the crowd. After a short foot chase, detectives apprehended Smith. During the investigation, drugs and $3,310 in U.S. currency were located. Smith was transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking. Bail has been set at $15,000.
