Arrest Report- August 5, 2019

St. Mary Parish Sheriff Blaise Smith advises that over the last 72-hour reporting period, the Sheriff’s Office responded to 127 complaints and reports the following arrests:

 

Louis J. Arcemont, Jr., 49, 911 Main St., Franklin, La., was arrested on August 2, 2019, at 9:03 am on a warrant for failure to appear on the charge of criminal neglect of family.

A deputy made contact with Arcemont at his residence on an active warrant for his arrest. He was transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking. Bail has been set at $24, 034.52

 

David Tyrone Francois, 47, 310 Barrow St., Morgan City, La., was arrested on August 2, 2019, at 3:26 pm on a warrant for failure to appear on the charges of improper parking and failure to honor written promise to appear.

Francois turned himself into the St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s Department on an active warrant for his arrest. He was arrested and released on a summons to appear in court on November 8, 2019.

 

Jason Everett Hunt, 32, 112 Field Rd., Bayou Vista, La., was arrested on August 2, 2019, at 5:28 pm for simple battery.

A deputy was dispatched to Friendship Alley in Amelia in reference to a disturbance. Upon arrival, the deputy made contact with the victim and witnesses who stated that Hunt had grabbed the victim during an argument. Hunt was transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking. Bail has been set at $2,500.

 

Bennie Kane Johnson, Jr., 54, 106 Lee Lane, St. Joseph, La., was arrested on August 2, 2019, at 6:26 pm for simple battery.

Deputies were dispatched to Lee Lane in St. Joseph in reference to a disturbance. Upon arrival, the deputies made contact with the victim and a witness. During the investigation, it was learned Johnson had committed a battery. Johnson was transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking. Bail has been set at $2,500.

 

Herman Ray Mitchell, 58, 273 Jones Rd. #1, Jeanerette, La., was arrested on August 2, 2019, at 10:35 pm for reckless operation (no accident), criminal damage to property, and driving while intoxicated.

A deputy was driving into the entrance of a business in Franklin when he observed a vehicle jump over a cement median in the parking lot. The deputy conducted a traffic stop and made contact with the driver, identified as Mitchell. While the deputy was speaking with Mitchell, he could smell the odor of alcoholic beverage emitting from Mitchell. With the assistance from Franklin Police Department, Mitchell was transported to the Franklin Police Department for chemical testing on the Intoxilyzer 9000. Mitchell’s blood alcohol content tested at 0.181g%. Mitchell was transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking. Bail has been set at $3,500.

 

Eddy Pardo Cervantes, 40, 233 Southwest Rd., Bayou Vista, La., was arrested on August 2, 2019, at 11:23 pm for improper lane usage, driving while intoxicated (2nd offense), and resisting arrest or officer (x2).

Deputies were near the area of Hwy. 182 and Hwy. 90 in Berwick when they observed a vehicle cross over the centerline. Deputies conducted a traffic stop and made contact with the driver, identified as Cervantes. While the deputies were speaking with Cervantes, they could smell the odor of alcoholic beverage emitting from Cervantes. Deputies conducted a standardized field sobriety test in which Cervantes performed poorly. Cervantes was transported to the Berwick Police Department for chemical testing on the Intoxilyzer 9000, which he refused and became irate with the deputies. Cervantes was transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking. Bail has been set at $10,250.

 

Tremaine Lightfoot, 25, 100 S. Meyers St., Lafayette, La., was arrested on August 2, 2019, at 11:58 pm for no headlights, possession of marijuana, and possession of drug paraphernalia.

A K-9 deputy was patrolling the area of Park St. near Carmen St. in Patterson when he observed a vehicle with only one operable headlight. The deputy conducted a traffic stop and made contact with the driver, identified as Lightfoot. During the investigation, drugs were found. Lightfoot was arrested and released on a summons to appear in court on November 8, 2019.

 

Cedric Benjamin Gant, 21, 1061 Grace St., Siracusa, La., was arrested on August 3, 2019, at 3:24 am pm on a warrant for simple battery.

A deputy was patrolling the area of James St. and Ciro St. in Siracusa and made contact with Gant. The deputy was advised by dispatch that Gant held an active warrant for his arrest. Gant was arrested and released on a summons to appear in court on November 8, 2019.

 

Darian Keith Hoskins, 39, 20017 Hwy. 182 West, Jeanerette, La., was arrested on August 3, 2019, at 5:09 am on two warrants for failure to appear on the charges of possession of drug paraphernalia and simple battery.

A deputy assisting the Baldwin Police Department with an unrelated complaint made contact with Hoskins. The deputy was advised by dispatch that Hoskins held an active warrant for his arrest. Hoskins was transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking. Bail has been set at $2,900.

 

Christina Marie Dupre, 35, 575 Paula Dr., Thibodaux, La., was arrested on August 3, 2019, at 10:50 am for driving under suspension.

A deputy was traveling east on Hwy. 182 in Jeanerette when he observed a vehicle cross the centerline of the roadway. The deputy conducted a traffic stop and made contact with the driver, identified as Dupre. The deputy was advised by dispatch that Dupre was driving with a suspended driver’s license. Dupre was transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking. Bail has been set at $1,000.

 

Thepsavanh Phongsayanh, 57, 1200 James St., Amelia, La., was arrested on August 3, 2019, at 1:04 pm for no insurance, no license plate, and driving under suspension.

A deputy was patrolling the area of Hwy. 90 east in Morgan City when he observed a vehicle with no license plate. The deputy conducted a traffic stop and made contact with the driver, identified as Phongsayanh. The deputy was advised by dispatch that Phongsayanh was driving with a suspended driver’s license and had no insurance on the vehicle. Phongsayanh was arrested and released on a summons to appear in court on November 8, 2019.

 

Herbert L. Boutte, 46, 1516 Monnet Rd., Jeanerette, La., was arrested on August 3, 2019, at 1:21 pm for driving under suspension.

A deputy was stationary on Ralph Darden Memorial Parkway in Baldwin when he observed a vehicle traveling above the posted speed. The deputy conducted a traffic stop and made contact with the driver, identified as Boutte. The deputy was advised by dispatch that Boutte was driving with a suspended driver’s license. Boutte was arrested and released on a summons to appear in court on November 8, 2019.

 

Javise Jack, 21, 1158 Hwy. 83 Lot #1, Franklin, La., was arrested on August 3, 2019, at 2:29 pm for possession of crack cocaine and proper equipment required.

A deputy was patrolling the area of Joseph St. in Baldwin when he observed a vehicle without a passenger door closed all the way. The deputy conducted a traffic stop and made contact with the driver, identified as Jack. During the investigation, drugs were located. Jack was transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking. Bail has been set $4,000.

 

Brad David Landry, 38, 409 Louisa St., Morgan City, La., was arrested on August 3, 2019, at 11:00 pm for license plate lights required, possession of marijuana, and possession of THC wax.

A deputy was patrolling the area of Hwy. 182 west near Clark Rd. in Bayou Vista when he observed a vehicle without an operable license plate light. The deputy conducted a traffic stop and made contact with the driver, identified as Landry. During the investigation, drugs were located. Landry was arrested and released on a summons to appear in court on November 8, 2019.

 

James Ronnie McKinley, 69, 105 Bowen Ln., Bayou Vista, La., was arrested on August 4, 2019, at 12:46 pm for domestic abuse battery by strangulation and cruelty to the infirmed.

A deputy was dispatched to a location on Marguerite St. in Morgan City in reference to a domestic abuse battery complaint that occurred at a residence in Bayou Vista. Upon arrival, the deputy made contact with the victim who stated McKinley committed a battery. McKinley was transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking. No bail has been set.

 

Blaise Keith Crane, 25, 866 Verdunville Rd. D, Franklin, La., was arrested on August 4, 2019, at 4:03 pm on a warrant for failure to appear on the charge of simple battery.

A deputy made contact with Crane on Main St. in Franklin on an active warrant for his arrest. Crane was transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking. Crane was released on his own recognizance.

 

NARCOTICS SECTION

 

Christopher Michael Prince, 21, 204 Livas Ln., Thibodaux, La., was arrested on August 3, 2019, at 3:03 pm on the following charges:

  • No insurance
  • Obstruction to drivers view
  • Expired or no inspection sticker
  • Possession of drug paraphernalia in a drug-free zone

Christopher Skinner, 30, 6002 Bayou Black Dr., Gibson, La., was arrested on August 3, 2019, at 3:03 pm for possession of schedule II drugs with the intent to distribute (cocaine) and transactions involving drug proceeds.

Deputies were patrolling the area of Amelia when they observed a vehicle westbound exiting the Amelia Bridge with no inspection sticker and a broken mirror. The deputies conducted a traffic stop and made contact with the driver, Prince, and a passenger, Skinner. During the investigation, drugs and $529 in cash belonging to Skinner were located. Prince and Skinner were transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking. Bail on Prince has been set at $2,250. Bail on Skinner has been set at $5,000.
