Arrest Report- August 8, 2019

St. Mary Parish Sheriff Blaise Smith advises that over the last 24-hour reporting period, the Sheriff’s Office responded to 32 complaints and reports the following arrests:

 

Reggie L. Harris, 37, 1441 Mitchell St. Lot #9, Franklin, La., was arrested on August 7, 2019, at 4:34 pm on a warrant for domestic abuse battery.

A deputy was stationary on Ralph Darden Memorial Parkway in Baldwin when he observed a vehicle traveling above the posted speed. The deputy conducted a traffic stop and made contact with the driver, identified as Harris. The deputy was advised by dispatch that Harris held an active warrant for his arrest. Harris was transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking. No bail has been set.

 

Anthony Lee Brooks, 39, 404 Catherine St. #13, Patterson, La., was arrested on August 7, 2019, at 4:54 pm for failure to obey traffic controls and driving under suspension.

A deputy was stationary on the corner of Hwy. 90 and Southeast Blvd. in Bayou Vista when he observed a vehicle make an illegal U-turn from a J-turn. The deputy conducted a traffic stop and made contact with the driver, identified as Brooks. The deputy was advised by dispatch that Brooks was driving with a suspended driver’s license. Brooks was arrested and released on a summons to appear in court on November 8, 2019.

 

Brent Edward Charles, 38, 220 Headland St., Morgan City, La., was arrested on August 7, 2019, at 6:51 pm on three warrants for failure to appear for distribution of cocaine, resisting an officer by flight, and simple battery. Charles was also arrested on the following charges:

  • Failure to obey traffic control
  • Illegal possession of a firearm by a convicted felon
  • Possession of schedule II drugs
  • Possession of drug paraphernalia
  • Possession of a firearm in the presence of CDS

Deputies were stationary at the intersection of Hwy. 90 and Southeast Blvd. in Bayou Vista when they observed a vehicle make an illegal U-turn. The deputies conducted a traffic stop and made contact with the driver, identified as Charles. Deputies were advised by dispatch that Charles held active warrants for his arrest. During the investigation, drugs and a firearm were located. Charles was transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking. No bail has been set.

 

Renitta Williams Brown, 36, 112 Red St., Gray, La., was arrested on August 7, 2019, at 7:50 pm for failure to obey traffic controls and driving under suspension.

A deputy was stationary on the corner of Hwy. 90 and Southeast Blvd. in Bayou Vista when he observed a vehicle make an illegal U-turn. The deputy conducted a traffic stop and made contact with the driver, identified as Brown. The deputy was advised by dispatch that Brown was driving under suspension. Brown was arrested and released on a summons to appear in court on November 8, 2019.
