Arrest Report- August 16, 2019

St. Mary Parish Sheriff Blaise Smith advises that over the last 24-hour reporting period, the Sheriff’s Office responded to 29 complaints and reports the Middle Rd. following arrests:

 

Ceasar Felipe Medina-Triana, 33, 1753 Acadian Drive, Houma, La., was arrested on August 15, 2019, at 6:11 am for general speed law and driving under suspension.

A deputy was conducting speed enforcement on Degravelle Road after being advised of complaints from the public of cars speeding in that area. The deputy observed a vehicle traveling over the posted speed and conducted a traffic stop. The deputy made contact with the driver, Medina-Triana, who was operating the vehicle with a suspended license as verified by dispatch. Medina-Triana was arrested and released on a summons to appear on November 8, 2019.

 

Joseph Eskind, 19, 6307 Gaspard Road, New Iberia, La., was arrested on August 15, 2019, at 11:25 am for possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, and speeding.

A deputy was conducting speed enforcement on Katy Bridge Approach Road after being advised of complaints from the public of cars speeding in that area. The deputy observed a vehicle traveling over the posted speed and conducted a traffic stop. The deputy made contact with the driver, Eskind, and through the stop, marijuana and drug paraphernalia were located inside the vehicle. Eskind was arrested and released on a summons to appear on November 8, 2019.

 

Caleb McCaa, 23, 155 South Leon Drive, Gheens, La., was arrested on August 15, 2019, at 8:22 pm for possession of drug paraphernalia.

A deputy was patrolling the area of Highway 90 in Bayou Vista when he observed a vehicle following another vehicle too close. The deputy conducted a traffic stop and made contact with the driver and a passenger, identified as McCaa.  Through the stop, drug paraphernalia belonging to McCaa was found. McCaa was arrested and released on a summons to appear on November 8, 2019.

 

Charles Edward Naylor, 29, 875 Coy Avenue, Baton Rouge, La., was arrested on August 16, 2019, at 12:25 am for driving under suspension and stop signs and yield signs.

A deputy was patrolling Bayou Vista when he observed a vehicle fail to stop at a stop sign on Canal Road and fail to give a proper signal when turning. The deputy conducted a traffic stop and made contact with the driver, Naylor, who was driving with a suspended driver’s license as verified by dispatch. Naylor was arrested and released on a summons to appear on November 8, 2019.

 

Dennis Manuel Gonzales, 31, 129 Shannon Street, Patterson, La., was arrested on August 16, 2019, at 2:00 am for domestic abuse battery by strangulation and resisting an officer by giving false information.

Deputies were dispatched to a residence on Shannon Street in reference to a possible battery and removal of a subject. Upon arrival, the deputies made contact with a complainant who stated that Gonzales had committed a battery upon a victim and had left the scene.  Sometime later, the deputies located Gonzales at which time he provided a false name to the deputies. Gonzales was arrested and transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking. No bail has been set.

 

Caitlyn Rose Clay, 30, 423 St. Charles St., Franklin, La., was arrested on August 16, 2019, at 1:53 am for driving under suspension and speeding.

A deputy was stationary on Ralph Darden Memorial Parkway when he observed a vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed. The deputy conducted a traffic stop and made contact with the driver, Clay. Through the stop, the deputy was advised by dispatch that Clay’s license was suspended. Clay was arrested and released on a summons to appear on November 8, 2019.
