St. Mary Parish Sheriff Blaise Smith advises that over the last 24-hour reporting period, the Sheriff’s Office responded to 40 complaints and reports the following arrests:

 

Michael Jerome Scott, 53, 231 Mitchell St., Franklin, La., was arrested on August 22, 2019, at 8:25 am on a warrant for failure to register as a sex offender or child predator.

Scott was located at the St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s Office on an active warrant for his arrest. Scott was transported to the St. Mary Law Enforcement Center for booking. No bail has been set.

 

Brittany Soprano, 23, 411 Suzette St., New Iberia, La., was arrested on August 22, 2019, at 10:35 am for criminal trespass, a warrant for failure to appear on the charge of possession of drug paraphernalia, and a bench warrant for simple battery and cruelty to a juvenile.

Katie Arnaud, 25, 411 Suzette St., New Iberia, La., was arrested on August 22, 2019, at 10:35 am for criminal trespass.

A deputy was dispatched to a residence on Charenton Levee Road in Charenton in reference to an unauthorized entry complaint. Upon arrival, the deputy made contact with witnesses who stated Soprano and Arnaud should not be the residence. The deputy was advised by dispatch that Soprano held the active warrants for her arrest. Arnaud was arrested and released on a summons to appear in court on November 8, 2019. Soprano was transported to the St. Mary Law Enforcement Center for booking. No bail has been set.

Peter Little, 35, 5290 N. Bayou Black Rd., Gibson, La., was arrested on August 22, 2019, at 10:42 am on a warrant for failure to appear on the charges of possession of drug paraphernalia and disturbing the peace.

Little was located at the Riverbend Detention Center in Lake Providence on an active warrant for his arrest. Little was transported to the St. Mary Law Enforcement Center for booking. No bail has been set.

 

Gregory Scott Payne, 44, 151 Oregon St., Berwick, La., was arrested on August 22, 2019, at 2:44 pm for failure to obey traffic controls and no record of insurance.

A deputy was stationary in the area of Hwy. 90 and Southeast Blvd. in Bayou Vista when he observed a vehicle fail to obey traffic controls. The deputy conducted a traffic stop and made contact with the driver, identified as Payne. During the investigation, the deputy learned that Payne had no insurance on the vehicle. Payne was arrested and released on a summons to appear in court on November 8, 2019.

 

Victoria Anastasia Lee, 19, 220 Southeast Blvd., Bayou Vista, La., was arrested on August 22, 2019, at 7:19 pm for driving under suspension.

 A deputy was traveling in the area of Southeast Blvd. in Bayou Vista when he observed a vehicle with a missing driver side mirror. The deputy conducted a traffic stop and made contact with the driver, identified as Lee. The deputy was advised by dispatch that Lee was driving under suspension. Lee was arrested and released on a summons to appear in court on November 8, 2019.

 

Jamarcus Jarel Clark, 29, 210 Second St., Morgan City, La., was arrested on August 23, 2019, at 2:55 am for resisting an officer by giving false information and two failure to appear warrants for failure to obtain special identification card (sex offender) (x2) and failure to provide notification as a sex offender or child predator.

A deputy was traveling on Hwy. 90 in Morgan City when he observed a vehicle cross the fog line. The deputy conducted a traffic stop and made contact with the driver and a passenger, identified as Clark. The deputy was advised by dispatch that Clark held the active warrants for his arrest. Clark was transported to the St. Mary Law Enforcement Center for booking. No bail has been set.
