Arrest Report- September 3, 2019

St. Mary Parish Sheriff Blaise Smith advises that over the last 96-hour reporting period, the Sheriff’s Office responded to 133 complaints and reports the following arrests:

Seth James Matte, 25, 1034 Highway 1011, Napoleonville, La., was arrested on August 30, 2019, at 11:23 am on two warrants for failure to appear on the charges of operating a vehicle while license is suspended/revoked/canceled (x2) and operating a vehicle without properly lit lamps for conditions.

Matte was transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center from another agency on two active warrants for his arrest. No bail was set.

 

Charles Russell Mitchell, Jr., 39, 1707 Cross Street, Morgan City, La., was arrested on August 30, 2019, at 8:58 am for domestic abuse aggravated assault.

A deputy was dispatched to a location on Nichole Lane in Berwick in response to a subject that was located by the Berwick Police Department who held an active warrant. Upon arrival, the deputy made contact with the BPD officers and Mitchell. Mitchell was transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking. No bail was set.

 

 

Stephanie Marie Harvey, 40, 115 Cane Street, Bayou Vista, La., was arrested on August 31, 2019, at 3:50 am on a warrant through the Morgan City Police Department for the following charges:

  • Stop signs and yield signs
  • Possession of schedule I (marijuana)
  • Prohibited acts: drug paraphernalia
  • Possession of schedule II CDS (methamphetamine)
  • Possession of schedule II CDS (fentanyl)
  • Possession of schedule II CDS (oxycodone hydrochloride)
  • Possession of schedule II CDS (acetaminophen and hydrocodone bitartrate)
  • Possession of schedule IV CDS (Alprazolam)
  • Possession of schedule IV CDS (carisoprodol)
  • Possession of schedule II CDS (methylphenidate hydrochloride)
  • Possession of schedule IV CDS (zolpidem tartrate)
  • Possession of schedule III CDS (buprenorphine hydrochloride)

A deputy was patrolling the area of Highway 182 near Cameron when he observed a vehicle cross over the right shoulder line.  The deputy conducted a traffic stop and made contact with the driver, Harvey, and was advised by dispatch that Harvey held an active warrant for her arrest through the MCPD. Harvey was transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking and was subsequently transferred to another agency for incarceration.

 

Chere Rebardi Hartley, 38, 2838 Highway 182, Patterson, La., was arrested on August 31, 2019, at 10:50 am for leash law.

A deputy was dispatched to a residence on Highway 182 in Patterson in reference to a complaint of dogs that were loose. Upon arrival, the deputy made contact with Hartley concerning her dogs that were getting out of her yard. Hartley was arrested and released on a summons to appear on November 8, 2019.

 

Juan Gutierrez-Nolas, 38, 4 #5 Higuere Atipan De Zurigoza, Mexico City, Mexico, was arrested on August 31, 2019, at 1:24 pm for driving while intoxicated, driver must be licensed, and obstruction of highway.

A deputy was dispatched to the 200 block of Polaris Street in Bayou Vista in reference to a car parked in the roadway with the engine running and a driver sleeping inside. Upon arrival, the deputy made contact with the complainant who stated that she was unsure if the driver was in distress, so she made the complaint. The deputy made contact with the driver, Nolas, and subsequently conducted field sobriety in which Nolas performed poorly. Nolas was transported to the Morgan City Police Department for chemical testing on the Intoxilizer 9000, which registered his blood alcohol content at 0.186g%. Nolas was transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking. Bail was set at $3,250.

 

Juvenile male, 16, Bayou Vista, La., was arrested on August 31, 2019, at 11:24 am for theft.

A deputy went to a residence to follow up on a theft complaint that had occurred on August 9, 2019, at another residence in Bayou Vista. The deputy spoke with the juvenile, who admitted to taking money that was not his. The juvenile was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Branch Office for processing. He was released into the custody of a guardian pending juvenile court proceedings.

 

Milton Hernandez, 36, 832 Barrow St. A, Amelia, La., was arrested on August 31, 2019, at 7:42 pm on the following charges:

  • Driving while intoxicated – 2nd offense
  • Possession of cocaine
  • Attempted escape
  • Resisting arrest or officer
  • Bribery (x2)
  • Open container
  • No driver’s license

And on two warrants on the following charges:

  • Operating a vehicle without lawful presence in US
  • No driver’s license
  • Failure to carry registration
  • Expired vehicle license
  • No child restraint
  • Driving while intoxicated – 1st offense

Deputies were conducting a traffic stop in the area of Lake Palourde Rd. in Amelia when they made contact with Hernandez. While the deputies were speaking with Hernandez, they could smell a strong odor of alcohol emitting from his breath. The deputies conducted a standardized field sobriety test on Hernandez in which he performed poorly. Hernandez was transported to the Berwick Police Department for chemical testing which showed his blood alcohol content at 0.364g%. During the stop, drugs were also located inside the vehicle. The deputies were advised by dispatch that Hernandez held the active warrants for his arrest. Hernandez was transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking. Bail has been set at $34,425.

 

Roger Clements, 61, 1291 Prairie Road Circle, Franklin, La., was arrested on September 1, 2019, at 8:18 am for leash law.

A deputy was dispatched to Hwy. 90 Frontage Rd. in Centerville in reference to a dog bite. Upon arrival, the deputy made contact with the complainant who advised that his dog was bitten by another dog. During the investigation, the deputy learned that the dog belonged to Clements. Clements was arrested and issued a summons to appear in court on December 2, 2019.

 

Heather Marie Theriot, 41, 130 South Clausen Rd., Centerville, La., was arrested on September 1, 2019, at 8:53 pm on two warrants for failure to appear on the charges of contempt of court and possession of marijuana (1st offense).

A deputy was dispatched to the area of South Clausen Rd. in Centerville in reference to a domestic abuse complaint. Upon arrival, the deputy made contact with Theriot who advised that she was in a verbal altercation with another subject. The deputy learned through dispatch that Theriot held an active warrant for her arrest. Theriot was transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking. Bail has been set at $675.

 

Lawrence Joseph Rebardi III, 35, 3666 Fore Rd., Denham Springs, La., was arrested on September 1, 2019, at 2:19 am on a warrant for failure to appear on the charges of hit & run driving, careless operation, and driver must be licensed.

A deputy assisting with a traffic stop made contact with a passenger of a vehicle, identified as Rebardi. The deputy was advised by dispatch of the active warrant for Rebardi’s arrest. Ribardi was transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking. No bail has been set.

 

Humberto Ramirez Lima, 31, 2704 South Houston Dr., Lamar, Tx., was arrested on September 1, 2013, at 4:03 am on the following charges:

  • Improper lane usage
  • No driver’s license
  • Possession of schedule II drugs
  • Possession of drug paraphernalia

A deputy was patrolling the area of Hwy. 182 in Amelia when he observed a vehicle cross over the fog line. The deputy conducted a traffic stop and made contact with the driver, identified as Lima. During the investigation, drugs were found inside the vehicle. Lima was transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking. No bail has been set.

 

James Michael Bertrand, 59, 100 Barone St., Baldwin, La., was arrested on September 2, 2019, at 12:44 am on the following charges:

  • Improper lane usage
  • Driving while intoxicated
  • Open container
  • Possession of marijuana

Jerashalyn Direll Kelly, 22, 703 Labau St., Baldwin, La., was arrested on September 2, 2019, at 12:44 am on a warrant for failure to appear on the following charges:

  • Direct contempt of court
  • Operating a vehicle without a driver’s license
  • General speed law
  • Fail to honor a written promise

A deputy patrolling the area of Martin Luther King Blvd. in Baldwin observed a vehicle driving in both lanes of travel. The deputy conducted a traffic stop and made contact with the driver, Bertrand, and a passenger, Kelly. While speaking with Bertrand, the deputy could smell a strong odor of alcohol emitting from his breath. The deputy conducted a standardized field sobriety test on Bertrand in which he performed poorly. Bertrand was transported to the Franklin Police Department for chemical testing on the Intoxilyzer 9000. Bertrand’s blood alcohol content tested at 0.099g%. During the stop, the deputy was advised by dispatch that Kelly held an active warrant for his arrest. Bertrand and Kelly were transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking. Bail was set on Bertrand at $5,250 and Kelly at $5,000.

 

Jesus Magana, 19, 324 Glenwood St., Morgan City, La., was arrested on September 2, 2019, at 1:44 am for license plate lights required, driving under suspension, and a warrant for burnt headlight and driving under suspension.

A deputy was patrolling the area of Duhon Blvd. near Cajun Way Lane in Amelia when he observed a vehicle with blue license plate lights. The deputy conducted a traffic stop and made contact with the driver, identified as Magana. Through the stop, the deputy was advised by dispatch that Magana was driving under suspension and had held an active warrant for his arrest. Magana was transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking. No bail has been set.

 

Nicholas Joseph Francis, 40, 113 Fortier Ln., Jeanerette, La., was arrested on September 2, 2019, at 1:57 am on the following charges:

  • Possession of schedule II drugs with the intent to distribute
  • Possession of schedule I drugs
  • Possession of synthetic cannabinoids
  • Cultivation of marijuana
  • Possession of prescription pills without a prescription
  • Domestic abuse aggravated assault
  • Resisting arrest or officer
  • Possession of drug paraphernalia

Deputies were dispatched to a residence in Jeanerette in reference to a disturbance. Upon arrival, the deputies made contact with the complainant who stated that Francis assaulted the complainant during an argument. During the investigation, drugs were found inside the residence. While being arrested, Francis resisted the deputies. Francis was transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking. No bail has been set.

 

Chad Michael Bracamontes, 46, 122 Rayne Ct., Bayou L’Ourse, La., was arrested on September 2, 20019, at 3:24 am on the following charges:

  • Driving while intoxicated
  • Aggravated flight from an officer
  • Resisting arrest or officer
  • Criminal trespass
  • Turning movements and required signals

A deputy was patrolling the area of Hwy. 182 in Bayou Vista when he observed a vehicle fail to use proper turn signals. The deputy attempted to conduct a traffic stop, however, the vehicle continued and increased its speed. The vehicle stopped a short time later and the driver, Bracamontes, began to flee on foot and was apprehended a short time later. Bracamontes was transported to the Berwick Police Department for chemical testing where his blood content tested at 0.145g%. Bracamontes was transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking. Bail has been set at $6,250.

 

Destiny James Landry, 44, 125 Robins Nest Lane, Lafayette, La., was arrested on September 2, 2019, at 11:38 am on a warrant for failure to appear on the charge of criminal neglect of family.

A deputy investigating a traffic incident in the Amelia area conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle. The deputy made contact with the driver and a passenger, identified as Landry. The deputy was advised by dispatch that Landry held an active warrant for his arrest. Bail has been set at $60,518.26.

 

Verelyn Benjamin Cannon, 60, 1017 Ciro St., Morgan City, La., was arrested on September 2, 2019, at 1:22 pm on a warrant for failure to appear on the charge of criminal neglect of family.

A deputy was investigating a crash in Siracusa when he made contact with Cannon. The deputy learned through dispatch that Cannon held an active warrant for his arrest. Cannon was transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking. Bail has been set at $5,136.93.

 

Jessica Lynn Bourgeois, 39, 821 Two Brothers Ln., Amelia, La., was arrested on September 2, 2019, at 8:28 pm theft and criminal trespass.

Deputies were dispatched to a local business in Siracusa in reference to a theft. Upon arrival, the deputies made contact with an employee who stated that Bourgeois had committed a theft. Bourgeois was transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking. No bail has been set.

 

Mary Ann Griffin, 50, 133 Joseph St., Morgan City, La., was arrested on September 2, 2019, at 9:12 pm on a warrant for failure to appear on the charge of unauthorized entry of an inhabited dwelling and possession of drug paraphernalia.

A deputy was dispatched to a residence on Joseph St. in Siracusa in reference to a criminal trespass complaint. Upon arrival, the deputy made contact with Griffin. The deputy was advised by dispatch that Griffin held an active warrant for her arrest. Griffin was transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking. Bail has been set at $6,500.

 

K9 DIVISION

 

Charlie Dionel Kelly, Jr., 41, 425 Tiffany Street, Patterson, La., was arrested on August 31, 2019, at 12:59 am for speeding and possession of marijuana.

A K9 deputy was patrolling the area of Berwick when he observed a vehicle that was traveling over the posted speed limit. The deputy conducted a traffic stop and made contact with the driver, Kelly. During the stop, K9 Chara was deployed and showed a positive response to the vehicle and a subsequent search yielded marijuana being located inside the vehicle.  Kelly was arrested and released on a summons to appear on November 8, 2019.
