St. Mary Parish Sheriff Blaise Smith advises that over the last 24-hour reporting period, the Sheriff’s Office responded to 42 complaints and reports the following arrests:

 

Darnisha Erica Veal, 22, 3605 Fourth St. C, Berwick, La., was arrested on September 4, 2019, at 4:17 pm for driving under suspension.

Deputies were dispatched to a local business in Bayou Vista in reference to a crash in the parking lot. Upon arrival, deputies spoke to both drivers of the vehicle, one identified as Veal. Deputies were advised by dispatch that Veal was driving under suspension. Veal was arrested and released on a summons to appear in court on December 2, 2019.

 

Lance P. Dupuy, 27, 28 Shady Park, Raceland, La., was arrested on September 4, 2019, at 5:57 pm on a warrant for failure to appear on the following charges:

• Possession of methamphetamine
• Possession of suboxone
• Possession of alcoholic beverages in a motor vehicle
• Resisting an officer by providing false information
• Possession of drug paraphernalia

Dupuy was transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center from Lafourche Parish Correctional Complex on an active warrant for his arrest. No bail has been set.

 

Drizzt Anthony Morales, 23, 2134 Lagrange Rd., Franklin, La., was arrested on September 4, 2019, at 2:07 pm on a warrant for simple battery.

 A deputy made contact with Morales at his residence on an active warrant for his arrest. Morales was transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking. No bail has been set.

 

NARCOTICS SECTION

 

Anthony C. Watts, 43, 243 Rayne Ct., Morgan City, La., was arrested on September 4, 2019, at 7:11 pm for possession of schedule I drugs (marijuana).

Jaime B. Watts, 41, 243 Rayne Ct., Morgan City, La., was arrested on September 4, 2019, at 7:11 pm for possession of schedule I drugs (marijuana).

Narcotics detectives were patrolling the area of Second St. and Belanger St. in Morgan City when they observed a vehicle cross the centerline. Narcotics detectives conducted a traffic stop and made contact with the driver, A. Watts, and the passenger, J. Watts. During the investigation, drugs were located inside the vehicle. A. Watts and J. Watts were arrested and released on a summons to appear in court on December 2, 2019.

 

Jordon Avery Steele, 39, Lake End Park Lot #45, Morgan City, La., was arrested on September 4, 2019, at 7:27 pm on a warrant for possession of marijuana with the intent to distribute, turning movements/required signals, and violation of CDS law in a drug free zone.

Narcotics detectives with the SMPSO assisted the Morgan City Police Department Narcotic section in conducting a search warrant at a residence in Morgan City. Detectives made contact with Steele and were aware of an active warrant for his arrest. Steele was transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking. No bail has been set.
