Arrest Report- September 11, 2019

St. Mary Parish Sheriff Blaise Smith advises that over the last 24-hour reporting period, the Sheriff’s Office responded to 37 complaints and reports the following arrests:

 

Jamie E. Gray, 49, 112 Sharon St., Lafayette, La., was arrested on September 10, 2019, at 7:01 am on a warrant for failure to appear on the charges of operating a vehicle while license is suspended/revoked/canceled and failure to stop/yield at stop sign.

Gray was transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center from the Lafayette Parish Correction Center on an active warrant for his arrest. No bail has been set.

 

Beau Mitchell Guidry, 41, 179 Milli St., Raceland, La., was arrested on September 10, 2019, at 9:06 pm for failure to signal and driving under suspension.

A deputy was patrolling the area of Joel Blvd. in Amelia when he observed a motorcycle fail to signal before making a right turn. The deputy conducted a traffic stop and made contact with the driver, identified as Guidry and was advised by dispatch he was driving with a suspended driver’s license. Guidry was transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking. Bail has been set at $1,250.

 

Allen Charles Brooks Jones, 43, 623 Eighth St., Franklin, La., was arrested on September 10, 2019, at 10:23 pm for criminal trespass.

Deputies were dispatched to a residence on Chatsworth Dr. in Franklin in reference to a trespassing complaint.  Upon arrival, deputies made contact with the homeowner who stated Jones did not have permission to be at the residence. Jones was transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking. Bail has been set at $1,000.

 

Kerry Davis, Jr., 28, 110 Alexander Lane, Franklin, La., was arrested on September 11, 2019, at 1:50 am on two warrants for failure to appear on the charges of disturbing the peace by fighting, possession/distribution/sale of a legend drug without a prescription, improper lane usage and the following charges:

  • No license plate light
  • Switched license plate/stolen license plate
  • Driving under suspension
  • No insurance
  • Proper equipment required on vehicle
  • Open container

A deputy patrolling the area of Irish Bend Rd. in Franklin observed a vehicle with an inoperable license plate light. The deputy conducted a traffic stop and made contact with the driver, identified as Davis. The deputy was advised by dispatch that Davis was driving with a suspended driver’s license and that he held the active warrants for his arrest. Davis was transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking. No bail has been set.

 

Cedric Sapp, 25, 126 Francis St., Franklin, La., was arrested on September 11, 2019, at 2:17 am on a warrant for domestic abuse child endangerment law.

A deputy was patrolling the area of Lake Palourde Rd. in Amelia when he observed a subject riding a bicycle. The deputy conducted a contact stop and identified the subject as Sapp and was advised by dispatch that he held an active warrant for his arrest. Sapp was transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking. No bail has been set.

 

Jacob Thomas Alcina, 31, 706 Martin Luther King Ave., Patterson, La., was arrested on September 11, 2019, at 2:44 am on the following charges:

  • Resisting by force
  • Possession of methamphetamines
  • Possession of marijuana
  • Possession of drug paraphernalia
  • Obstruction of justice

Janet Lavern Melancon, 61, 2328 Wilson Lane, Patterson, La., was arrested on September 11, 2019, at 2:44 am for brake lights required and resisting an officer by flight.

Deputies were patrolling the area of Hwy. 90 in Patterson when he observed a vehicle with an inoperable brake light. The deputies conducted a traffic stop and made contact with the driver, identified as Melancon. As the vehicle came to rest, the passenger, later identified as Alcina, began to flee from the deputies. After a short foot pursuit, Alcina was detained. During the investigation, drugs were found belonging to Alcina. Melancon and Alcina were transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking. Bail on Melancon has been set at $1,750. No bail has been set on Alcina.
