Arrest Report- September 16, 2019

St. Mary Parish Sheriff Blaise Smith advises that over the last 72-hour reporting period, the Sheriff’s Office responded to 94 complaints and reports the following arrests:

 

Nicholas James Persilver, 33, 19532 Hwy. 182 West, Jeanerette, La., was arrested on September 13, 2019, at 12:21 pm for violation of protective orders and a warrant for contempt of court for failure to appear for exceeding maximum speed limit.

A deputy was dispatched to the Franklin Courthouse in reference to a violation of a protective order. Upon arrival, the deputy made contact with the complainant who stated that Persilver violated a protective order. The deputy made contact with Persilver and was advised that he held an active warrant for his arrest. Persilver was transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking. Bail has been set at $5,250.

 

Skyler Craig Gibson, 25, 6235 Bayou Black Dr., Gibson, La., was arrested on September 13, 2019, at 5:02 pm on a warrant for failure to appear on the charges of failure to use safety belt, hit & run, and careless operation.

A deputy assisting with an unrelated complaint in Bayou Vista made contact with Gibson and was advised by dispatch that he held an active warrant for his arrest. Gibson was transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking.  No bail has been set.

 

Joey J. Perez, 58, 187 Freetown Rd. #2, Franklin, La., was arrested on September 13, 2019, at 8:16 pm for proper equipment required on vehicles and driving under suspension.

Deputies were patrolling the area of Hwy. 90 in Glencoe when they observed a vehicle without an operable headlight. The deputies conducted a traffic stop and made contact with the driver, identified as Perez. The deputies were advised by dispatch that Perez was driving under suspension. Perez was arrested and released on a summons to appear in court on December 2, 2019.

 

Joann Mitchell, 59, 150 Jimmy’s Trailer Park, Gibson, La., was arrested on September 13, 2019, at 9:15 pm for turning movements/required signals, driving under suspension, and possession of drug paraphernalia.

A deputy was patrolling the area of Saturn Rd. near Mercury Rd. in Bayou Vista when he observed a vehicle fail to signal before turning. The deputy conducted a traffic stop and made contact with the driver, identified as Mitchell. The deputy was advised by dispatch that Mitchell was driving with a suspended driver’s license. During the stop, drug paraphernalia was found. Mitchell was arrested and released on a summons to appear in court on December 2, 2019.

 

Brandt Ian Johnson, 33, 6546 Hwy. 87, Charenton, La., was arrested on September 13, 2019, at 10:18 pm on a warrant for failure to appear on the charge of hit & run driving.

A deputy was dispatched to the Chitimacha Police Department in reference to a subject, identified as Johnson, who held an active warrant for his arrest. Johnson was transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking. Bail has been set at $500.

 

Luis Fernando-Ponce, 22, 211 Westside Park Lane, Amelia, La., was arrested on September 13, 2019, at 9:30 pm for sexual battery and indecent behavior with a juvenile.

On Friday, Sept. 14, 2019, an investigation was initiated into a complaint of a molestation of a juvenile. During the investigation, Ponce was developed as the suspect and a warrant was obtained for his arrest. Ponce was transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking. Bail has been set at $20,000.

 

Tyresha R. Dugar, 28, 110 Martin Luther King Ave. B., Patterson, La., was arrested on September 14, 2019, at 1:14 am for no headlights, possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, and on a warrant for failure to appear on the charge of possession of marijuana.

A deputy was patrolling the area of Hwy. 90 in Bayou Vista when he observed a vehicle with an inoperable headlight. The deputy conducted a traffic stop and made contact with the driver, identified as Dugar. Through the stop, drugs and drug paraphernalia were located. Dugar was transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking. No bail has been set.

 

Clifton J. Delasbour, Sr., 43, 205 Lincoln St., Baldwin, La., was arrested on September 14, 2019, at 2:03 am for turning movements/required signals and driving under suspension.

A deputy was traveling on Main St. in Franklin when he observed a vehicle fail to use proper turn signals. The deputy initiated a traffic stop and made contact with the driver, Delasbour. The deputy learned through dispatch that Delasbour was driving under suspension. Delasbour was arrested and released on a summons to appear in court on December 2, 2019.

 

Aketa Raquel Francis, 27, 301 Eighth St., Morgan City, La., was arrested on September 14, 2019, at 4:16 pm for simple battery.

A deputy was dispatched to Cane Rd. in Bayou Vista in reference to a disturbance. Upon arrival, the deputy made contact with the complainant who stated Francis committed a battery. Francis was transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking. Bail has been set at $2,500.

 

Wilbur James Richard, Jr., 35, 152 Jupiter St., Bayou Vista, La., was arrested on September 14, 2019, at 8:14 pm for resisting arrest or officer and a warrant for failure to appear on the following charges:

  • Possession of alprazolam
  • Possession of Deca Durabolin
  • Possession of Testosterone
  • Possession of drug paraphernalia
  • Possession of marijuana

A deputy responded to a complaint on Jupiter St. in Bayou Vista, and during the investigation, Richard was developed as a person of interest. Dispatch advised that Richard held an active warrant for his arrest. A short time later the deputy made contact with Richard, who began to flee on foot. Richard was quickly captured and transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking. No bail has been set.

 

Tori Lawrence Davis, 35, 226 Mitchell Lane, St. Joseph, La., was arrested on September 14, 2019, at 9:05 pm on a warrant for failure to appear for contempt hearing.

Deputies were patrolling the area of Gum Point Ln. in Franklin when they observed a vehicle fail to use proper turn signals. The deputies conducted a traffic stop and made contact with the driver, identified as Davis. During the stop, the deputies were advised by dispatch that Davis held an active warrant for his arrest. Davis was transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking. Bail has been set at $500.

 

Cheddrick Domond Roberson, 40, 635 Bigler St., Franklin, La., was arrested on September 14, 2019, at 11:54 pm on the following charges:

  • Bicycle equipment required for night operation
  • Resisting arrest or officer
  • Littering
  • Criminal trespass

Deputies were patrolling the area of Martin Luther King St. in Franklin when they observed a subject, later identified as Roberson, riding a bicycle in the roadway without any lighting. While deputies were attempting to make contact with Roberson, he began to flee. After a short chase, deputies located Roberson at a nearby residence and transported him to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking. Bail has been set at $4,250.

 

Tyler Anthony Palmature, 22, 422 Neptune St., Bayou Vista, La., was arrested on September 14, 2019, at 4:15 am on the following charges:

  • License plate lights required
  • Switched license plate/stolen license plate
  • Driving under suspension
  • Possession of schedule IV drugs (Klonopin)
  • Possession of marijuana
  • Possession of drug paraphernalia

A deputy was patrolling the area of Belleview St. near Southeast Blvd. in Bayou Vista when he observed a vehicle with an inoperable license plate light. The deputy initiated a traffic stop and made contact with the driver, identified as Palmature. The deputy learned through dispatch that Palmature was driving with a suspended license. During the investigation, drugs and drug paraphernalia were located inside the vehicle.  Palmature was transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking. No bail has been set.

 

Timothy Terrell Humphrey, Jr., 31, 171 Village Lane, Amelia, La., was arrested on September 15, 2019, at 10:23 am on the following charges:

  • Possession of cocaine
  • Possession of a legend drug without prescription
  • Possession of drug paraphernalia
  • Burglary-simple
  • Criminal damage to property-simple
  • Remaining on property without permission

Leeann Nicole Jones, 33, 152 Jupiter Street, Bayou Vista, La., was arrested on September 15, 2019, at 10:23 am for burglary-simple.

A deputy was dispatched to a residence on Mars Road in Bayou Vista in reference to a residential burglary complaint.  Upon arrival, the deputy made contact with the complainant who stated that someone had broken into her home. During the investigation, Humphrey and Jones were developed as suspects. Moments later, deputies made contact with Humphrey and Jones walking on Mars Road. Drugs and drug paraphernalia were found in Humphrey’s possession. Humphrey and Jones were transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking. No bail has been set.

 

Shaqunia Marie Harris, 25, 214 Arizona Street, Morgan City, La., was arrested on September 15, 2019, at 11:08 am for resisting arrest or officer, resisting an officer by giving false information, and on a warrant for failure to appear on the charges of failure to yield to emergency vehicle and possession of drug paraphernalia.

A deputy was dispatched to a residence on Joseph Street in reference to a disturbance to assist an MCPD officer. The deputy made contact with Harris, who held an active warrant for her arrest.  Harris was transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking. No bail has been set.

 

Sherkera Monique Sylvester, 39, 926 Short Street, Morgan City, La., was arrested on September 15, 2019, at 8:32 pm for resisting arrest or officer and on a Lafourche Parish failure to appear warrant.

Roger Bernnorh Short, Sr., 33, 6345 Mary Street, Gibson, La., was arrested on September 15, 2019, at 8:32 pm for resisting arrest or officer, interfering with a law enforcement investigation, and battery on a police officer.

Deputies were patrolling Highway 90 near Morgan City when they observed a vehicle fail to signal a lane change and follow too closely to another vehicle. The deputies conducted a traffic stop and made contact with the driver and two passengers, identified as Sylvester and Short. Through the stop, the deputies were advised by dispatch that Sylvester held an active warrant for her arrest. While taking Sylvester into custody, she and Short became combative. Short and Sylvester were both transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking. No bail has been set.

 

Robert Charles Martin, 25, 305 Martin Luther King Blvd, Franklin, La., was arrested on September 16, 2019, at 12:21 am for license plate lights required and on a warrant for failure to appear on the charges of failure to maintain automobile insurance, speeding, and license plate light required.

A deputy was patrolling the area of Irish Bend Road when he observed a vehicle with an inoperable license plate light. The deputy conducted a traffic stop and made contact with the driver, Martin, who held an active warrant for his arrest. Martin was transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking. No bail has been set.

 

Lindsey Fernandez, 32, 1226 Delmar Road, Bayou Vista, La., was arrested on September 16, 2019, at 2:50 am on two warrants for failure to appear on the charges of contempt of court and battery-simple involving domestic violence.

A deputy was dispatched to a local business to assist a Baldwin P.D. officer with a suspicious vehicle complaint. Upon arrival, the deputy made contact with the officer and a female in the suspicious vehicle, identified as Fernandez. Dispatch advised that Fernandez held active warrants for her arrest.  Fernandez was transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking. No bail has been set.

 

Travis Joseph Skeen, 30, 606 Aristile Road, Morgan City, La., was arrested on September 16, 2019, at 4:41 am for possession of schedule II drugs and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Savanna White, 20, 1983 River Road, Berwick, La., was arrested on September 16, 2019, at 4:41 am for possession of schedule II drugs and possession of drug paraphernalia.

A deputy was traveling on Highway 90 eastbound, taking the exit ramp onto Duhon Blvd. when he observed a vehicle cross over the grassy median. The deputy conducted a traffic stop and made contact with the driver, White, and two male passengers, one identified as Skeen. During the stop, drugs and drug paraphernalia were located. Skeen and White were transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking. No bail has been set.

 

K9/NARCOTICS DIVISION

Floyd C. Acklin, Jr., 59, 9425 Fairland Dr., Houston, TX, was arrested on September 16, 2019, at 2:45 am for the following charges:

  • Improper lane usage
  • Possession of schedule II (cocaine) with intent to distribute 
  • Possession of schedule II marijuana
  • Possession of drug paraphernalia
  • Proper display of license plate (fraud plate)

A K9 deputy was working criminal interdiction on Highway 90 in the Bayou Vista area when he observed a vehicle traveling east on Highway 90 cross the centerline and the fog line. The deputy conducted a traffic stop and made contact with the driver, Acklin. During the stop, K9 Buddy was deployed for an open-air scan of the vehicle and showed an odor response on the vehicle. Drugs and drug paraphernalia were subsequently located in the vehicle. Acklin was transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking. No bail has been set.
