Arrest Report- September 20, 2019

St. Mary Parish Sheriff Blaise Smith advises that over the last 24-hour reporting period, the Sheriff’s Office responded to 31 complaints and reports the following arrests:

 

Chloe J. Ruiz, 28, 636 Cameron Isle, Houma, La., was arrested on September 19, 2019, at 8:58 am on the following charges:

  • Possession of methamphetamines with the intent to distribute
  • Possession of schedule III drugs with the intent to distribute
  • Possession of schedule Iv drugs
  • Possession of CDS by fraud
  • Possession of drug paraphernalia

A deputy was dispatched to Duhon Blvd. near Cajun Way Lane in Amelia in reference to a subject lying face down in a field. Upon arrival, the deputy made contact with the subject, identified as Ruiz. During the investigation, drugs were found. Ruiz was transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking. Ruiz was released on her own recognizance.

 

David Joseph Elliot, Jr., 42, 203 Franklin St., Morgan City, La., was arrested on September 19, 2019, at 1:14 pm on warrant for failure to appear on the charge of pornography involving juveniles.

A deputy received an anonymous tip of the location of Elliot who held an active warrant for his arrest. Elliot was located at his camp on the Atchafalaya River in Patterson and transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking. No bail has been set.

 

Austin Michael Guarisco, 26, 136 Riverview Dr., Patterson, La., was arrested on September 19, 2019, at 4:54 pm on a warrant for failure to appear on the charge of possession of drug paraphernalia.

Guarisco was located at the St. James Parish Jail and transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center on an active warrant for his arrest. No bail has been set.

 

Gerald Tramond Sophus, 29, 1216 Samuel St., Franklin, La., was arrested on September 19, 2019, at 9:39 pm on the following charges:

  • Driving left of center
  • Improper lane usage
  • Turning movements and required signals
  • Driving under suspension
  • Possession of marijuana
  • Possession of drug paraphernalia
  • Obstruction of justice

A deputy was patrolling the area of Sterling Rd. in Franklin when he observed a vehicle cross the center and fog line. The deputy conducted a traffic stop and made contact with the driver, identified as Sophus. During the investigation, drugs and drug paraphernalia were found. Sophus was transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking. Bail has been set at $5,250. 

 

NARCOTICS SECTION

 

Tara S. Guy, 41, 724 N Severin St., Erath, La., was arrested on September 19, 2019, at 4:56 pm for no turn signal, possession of schedule I drugs (marijuana), and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Narcotics detectives were patrolling the area of Live Oak St.in Patterson when they observed a vehicle fail to use a turn signal. The detectives initiated a traffic stop and made contact with the driver, identified as Guy. During the stop, drugs were located inside the vehicle. Guy was arrested and released on a summons to appear in court on December 2, 2019.
