Arrest Report- September 27, 2019

St. Mary Parish Sheriff Blaise Smith advises that over the last 24-hour reporting period, the Sheriff's Office responded to 46 complaints and reports the following arrests:

 

Curstone Paul Alfred, 43, 298 Eves Street, Jeanerette, La., was arrested on September 26, 2019, at 9:33 am for criminal trespass.

A deputy was dispatched to a residence on Eves Street in reference to a criminal trespass complaint. Upon arrival, the deputy made contact with the complainant by phone who said that Alfred was on the property after being told numerous times to stay away from the residence. Alfred was arrested on the property and released on a summons to appear on December 2, 2019.

 

Kerry Elair, 57, 5470 Railroad Avenue, Morgan City, La., was arrested on September 26, 2019, at 10:24 pm for improper lane usage, driving under suspension, and on a warrant for failure to appear on the charges of driving under suspension, hit and run, and no insurance.  

A deputy patrolling the area of Highway 182 in Amelia observed a vehicle cross the fog line and conducted a traffic stop. The deputy made contact with the driver, Elair, and was advised by dispatch that he held an active warrant for his arrest. Elair was transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking and was transferred to another agency.

 

Sharah Faye Sons, 45, 832 Highway 20, Thibodaux, La., was arrested on September 26, 2019, at 1:04 pm on three warrants for failure to appear on the following charges:

  • Failure to dim headlights
  • Driving under suspension
  • Possession of schedule IV (alprozolam)
  • Theft

A deputy was patrolling the area of Teche Road due to requests for patrols in the area. He observed a vehicle pull halfway into a driveway with occupants acting suspiciously. Later, the deputy observed the same vehicle parked at a local business with one female occupant. The deputy made a welfare contact with the female, later identified as Sons. Through the conversation, he learned that Sons held active warrants through the Lafourche Parish Sheriff's Office and the Thibodaux Police Department. Sons was transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking and was transferred to another agency.

 

Jacob Wilson Zirlott, 36, 112 Oxford Loop, Franklin, La., was arrested on September 26, 2019, at 2:26 pm on a warrant for failure to appear on the charge of criminal neglect of family.

A deputy at the St. Mary Parish Courthouse was contacted by courtroom security in reference to a subject in the courtroom with an active warrant for his arrest.  The deputy made contact with Zirlott, advised him of the active warrant, and transported Zirlott to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking. Bail was set at $2,300.

 

Calvin Matthew Acosta, 33, 1086 Landry Lane, Stephensville, La., was arrested on September 26, 2019, at 3:18 pm on a warrant for failure to appear on the charge of criminal neglect of family.

A transportation deputy made contact with Acosta, who held an active warrant, as he was incarcerated at another agency. Acosta was transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking. Bail was set at $50,555.56.

 

Steven Paul Richard, Sr., 38, 805 Anderson Street, Franklin, La., was arrested on September 26, 2019, at 5:00 pm for possession of drug paraphernalia and on a warrant for failure to appear on the charge of possession of marijuana.

A deputy was dispatched to the Highway 90 overpass at Highway 83 to assist a Louisiana State Police Trooper with a suspect. Upon arrival, the deputy made contact with the trooper and the suspect, Richard. Dispatch advised the deputy that Richard held an active warrant for his arrest. During the stop, drug paraphernalia belonging to Richard was also located. Richard was transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking. No bail has been set.

 

Madeline Lilly Mae Hebert, 21, 299 Gibbs Road, Franklin, La., was arrested on September 26, 2019, at 4:23 pm on a warrant for burglary-vehicle.

A deputy was dispatched to a local business on Northwest Boulevard in Franklin in reference to Hebert, who held an active warrant for her arrest.  Upon arrival, the deputy made contact with Hebert and advised her of the active warrant. Hebert was transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking. Hebert was released on a $3,000 bond.

 

Nicholas Michael Judd, 25, 516 Clarke Road, Bayou Vista, La., was arrested on September 27, 2019, at 8:30 pm for failure to signal turn and driving under suspension.

A deputy was stationary near the intersection of Saturn Road and Southeast Boulevard when he observed a vehicle fail to give a turn signal when turning as well as the hazard lights blinking briefly. The deputy conducted a traffic stop and made contact with the driver, Judd. Through the stop, the deputy learned that Judd was driving under suspension. Judd was arrested and released on a summons to appear on December 2, 2019.

 

Keith Oliver, 48, 133 Daggs Street, Plattenville, La., was arrested on September 27, 2019, at 10:28 pm for turning movements and required signals and driving under suspension.

A deputy was traveling on Lake Palourde Road when he noticed a vehicle fail to signal a turn. The deputy conducted a traffic stop and made contact with the driver, Oliver. Through the stop, the deputy learned that Oliver was driving under suspension. Oliver was arrested and released on a summons to appear on December 2, 2019.

 

Walneisha T. Coleman, 27, 1015 Eagle Street, Franklin, La., was arrested on September 27, 2019, at 12:32 am for speeding.

A deputy was traveling west on Highway 182 near Penn Road when he noticed a vehicle traveling east above the posted speed limit. The deputy conducted a traffic stop and made contact with the driver, Coleman. Coleman was arrested and released on a summons to appear on December 1, 2019.
