Arrest Report- October 1, 2019

St. Mary Parish Sheriff Blaise Smith advises that over the last 24-hour reporting period, the Sheriff's Office responded to 35 complaints and reports the following arrests:

 

Kevin Glen Davis, 52, 207 Pickett Lane, Franklin, La., was arrested on September 30, 2019, at 8:36 am on a warrant for failure to appear on the charge of speeding.

A deputy was sitting stationary on Highway 90 west near Berwick when he observed a vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed. The deputy conducted a traffic stop and made contact with the driver, Davis, and was advised by dispatch that Davis held an active warrant for his arrest. Davis was transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking. Bail was set at 298.50.

 

Okello Patrick Wheeler, 28, 3920 Beechwood Drive, Baton Rouge, La., was arrested on September 30, 2019, at 11:40 am on a warrant for failure to appear on the following charges:

  • principal to attempted possession with intent to distribute oxycodone
  • principal to altering a prescription of a CDS
  • possession of marijuana or synthetic cannabinoids
  • possession of drug paraphernalia.

A transportation deputy made contact with Wheeler when he transported him from another agency to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center to be booked on the outstanding warrant for his arrest. Wheeler was booked and incarcerated, and bail was set at $2,500.

 

Dannyell Moore, 44, 201 South Lake Arthur Avenue, Jennings, LA, was arrested on September 30, 2019, at 11:56 am for speeding and driving under suspension.

Mary Welch, 34, 238 West 6th Street, Roanoke, VA, was arrested on September 30, 2019, at 11:56 am for possession of drug paraphernalia.

A deputy was sitting stationary on Highway 90 west near Berwick when he observed a vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed. The deputy conducted a traffic stop and made contact with the driver, Moore, and a passenger, Welch. During the stop, dispatch advised that Moore was driving with a suspended driver's license. Through the investigation, drug paraphernalia was found in Welch's possession. Moore and Welch were arrested and released on a summons to appear on December 2, 2019.

 

Michael Wayne Martin, Jr., 36, 3510 Second St., Berwick, La., was arrested on September 30, 2019, at 5:02 pm on a warrant for failure to appear on the charge of simple burglary of an inhabited dwelling.

A deputy was dispatched to a location in Bayou Vista in reference to a suspicious person. Upon arrival, the deputy made contact with Martin and through the investigation learned that Martin held an active warrant for his arrest. Martin was transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking. No bail has been set.

 

Luanglatbandith Vong, 54, 933 Lynn Circle, New Iberia, LA, was arrested on September 30, 2019, at 10:54 pm for speeding and driving under suspension.

A deputy was sitting stationary on Ralph Darden Memorial Parkway in Baldwin when he observed a vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed. The deputy conducted a traffic stop and made contact with the driver, Vong. During the stop, dispatch advised that Vong was driving with a suspended driver's license. Vong was arrested and released on a summons to appear on December 2, 2019.
