Arrest Report, October 2, 2019

St. Mary Parish Sheriff Blaise Smith advises that over the last 24-hour reporting period, the Sheriff's Office responded to 35 complaints and reports the following arrests:

 

Janel Fernandez, 18, 331 Tiffany Street, Patterson, La., was arrested on October 1, 2019, at 11:07 am for proper equipment required on vehicle/inspection tag and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Porcha Thomas, 18, 149 Friendship Alley, Amelia, La., was arrested on October 1, 2019, at 11:07 am for possession of marijuana.

A deputy was patrolling Lake Palourde Road in Amelia when he observed a vehicle with an expired inspection sticker. The deputy conducted a traffic stop and made contact with the driver, Fernandez, and a passenger, Thomas. Through the stop, marijuana and drug paraphernalia were located. Fernandez and Thomas were arrested and released on a summons to appear on January 10, 2020.  

 

Brendon Bryan, 20, 517 Henry Street, Patterson, LA, was arrested on October 1, 2019, at 4:09 pm for leash law.

A deputy was dispatched to a residence on Henry Street in reference to an animal complaint. Upon arrival, the deputy made contact with the complainant who said one of the neighbors had a dog that was running loose. The dog was captured by animal control due to the complaints. Later, the deputy made contact with Bryan concerning the dog. Bryan was arrested and released on a summons to appear on January 10, 2020.  

 

Randolph Anthony Joseph, 27, 163 Roy Lane, Franklin, LA, was arrested on October 1, 2019, at 4:57 pm for disturbing the peace-noise, resisting a police officer with force or violence, and battery on a police officer.

A deputy assigned to the transportation division was on duty in the courtroom of the St. Mary Parish Courthouse when he made contact with Joseph. Joseph was berating others loudly and the deputy asked him to cease the behavior. Joseph refused to comply and the deputy along with two other deputies removed him to a holding cell. During the removal, Joseph grabbed one of the deputies by the arm and caused several abrasions on the deputy. Joseph was eventually returned to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center to continue his incarceration and was booked on the above charges.

 

Bon Van Nguyen, 59, 110 Sugar Mill Lane, Franklin, LA, was arrested on October 1, 2019, at 8:50 pm for domestic abuse battery.

A deputy responded to a domestic abuse call at a residence on Sugar Mill Road. Upon arrival, the deputy made contact with Nguyen and a victim.  Through the investigation, it was discovered that Nguyen had struck the victim. Nguyen was transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking.  Bail was set at $2,500.

 

Tyjuandre Darrell Harris, 22, 502 Fredrick Lane, Baldwin, LA, was arrested on October 2, 2019, at 12:10 am for possession of marijuana.

Deputies were dispatched to the Katy Bridge in reference to a subject carrying a gun. Through the investigation, the deputies made contact with a man matching the description who was inside a vehicle near the location. Deputies made contact with the subject, identified as Harris. No weapon was located, but marijuana was found. Harris was arrested and released on a summons to appear on January 10, 2020.
