Arrest Report, October 31, 2019

St. Mary Parish Sheriff Blaise Smith advises that over the last 24-hour reporting period, the Sheriff's Office responded to 40 complaints and reports the following arrests:

 

Rodaire Joseph Alexis, 35, 100 Chateau Martin, St. Martinville, LA, was arrested on October 30, 2019, at 10:49 am on a warrant for failure to appear on the charges of angling without a license, angling without a saltwater license, and resisting an officer by providing false information.

A booking deputy made contact with Alexis when he was transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center from another agency. Alexis was booked and incarcerated. No bail has been set.

 

Albert Hanks, 67, 200 Lodge Unit, Lafayette, LA, was arrested on October 30, 2019, at 2:19 pm for driving while intoxicated.

A deputy made contact with Hanks in the parking lot of the St. Mary Parish Courthouse in Franklin. Hanks had a strong odor of alcohol on his breath and was stumbling as he exited the vehicle. The deputy conducted field sobriety in which Hanks performed poorly. Upon being transported to the Franklin Police Department for chemical testing, Hanks' blood alcohol content tested at 0.237g/%. Hanks was transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking. Hanks was subsequently released on a $2,500 bond.

 

Robert Joseph Johnson, Jr., 32, 1405 1st Street, Patterson, LA, was arrested on October 30, 2019, at 1:58 pm on a warrant for the following charges:

  • Turning movements and signals required
  • Resisting an officer by flight
  • Possession of schedule I drug with intent to distribute
  • Transaction involving proceeds from drug offenses
  • Possession of drug paraphernalia

A booking deputy made contact with Johnson when he turned himself in on the active warrant at the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center. Johnson was booked and later released on a $10,000 bond.

 

Chanelle Thomas, 43, 8283 Mill St., St. James, LA, was arrested on October 30, 2019, at 8:11 pm for driving under suspension and proper equipment required on vehicle/inspection tag.

A deputy patrolling Lake Palourde Road observed a vehicle without an operable license plate light. The deputy conducted a traffic stop and made contact with the driver, Thomas. During the stop, dispatch advised that Thomas' driver's license was suspended. Thomas was arrested and released on a summons to appear on January 10, 2020.

 

Christopher Aaron Marquez, 33, 124 Bernard Street, Patterson, LA, was arrested on October 30, 2019, at 11:30 pm on a MCPD warrant for failure to appear on the charge of driving while intoxicated.

A deputy patrolling the area of Lake Palourde Road conducted a welfare stop on a vehicle and made contact with the driver, Marquez. Through the stop, dispatch advised that Marquez held an active warrant for his arrest. Marquez was transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking and was subsequently transferred to another agency.

 

K9 SECTION

Acquinana Alexander, 32, 171 Roy's Lane, Franklin, LA, was arrested on October 30, 2019, at 4:35 pm for possession of marijuana and expired or no inspection sticker.

A deputy patrolling the area of St. Joseph observed a vehicle with a cracked windshield and multiple things obstructing the driver's view. The vehicle crossed the centerline multiple times, therefore, the deputy conducted a traffic stop and made contact with the driver, Alexander. During the stop, a K9 officer arrived on the scene and K9 Buddy was deployed for an open-air sniff. K9 Buddy gave a positive response for narcotics and marijuana was located in the vehicle. Alexander was arrested and released on a summons to appear on January 10, 2020.
